Although it is perhaps not the cause of the winrar error, It seems to me you are modding directly in the data.pak which is a bad idea, adding a .rar extension to it even more.

sometimes modded texts do not appear in game. links seem to be correct. someone knows how to fix that??
in particular, that happens all the time for heroes

I've had this kind of problems in the past, but mostly it turned out to be a wrong link or 2 files modding the same thing.

Same here. Also sometimes it fix alone after time, or when replacing the mod file. It seems to be random...

What about message-scripts that are intended for either of 2 possible players, clashing with sign-messages? I've tried to add new signs w/ simple non-scripted messages ("Added" the text file) but they wiil not trigger in gameplay. It is like; since there are scripted signs for either player to trigger, there can be no stand-alone signs that have nothing to do with scripts? Anyone know?

no, links are good (at least the one I checked) and there is no other mod, there can't be 2 files overlapping each others??
the heroes' names appear as "NoName"

I had that problem as well when I was making my own custom heroes, what I ended up doing is...
Edit: My mistake what I ended up doing is just adding ALL the default 'Text\Game\Heroes\Persons\Persons\(factions)' to my mod but for custom heroes I created a different folder with the names/bio's and linked them to it.

Can anyone tell me what this Eternal Essance mod is?
Is there a test version out, what new stuff will be in it, how far have you people come? (just brainstorming or have you made alot for example)
Its hard to tell and i didn't get much wiser from the eternal essance website.

The A.I. of H5 has been (to this point) replaced with a superior A.I. that also has some added difficulty settings. You can have random-Heroes that are present with the neutral troops that guard adventure-map sites, opt for mirrored starting resources and can also set the difficulty of the A.I.

Go to the thread 3.1 an unoffical patch. {3.1H} is the current public release build.

Hmm that's odd, this is what I have for one of my custom heroes, with each new hero I create a folder with the hero name and bio.:
<NameFileRef href="/Text/CHERO/Ganan/Name.txt"/>
<BiographyFileRef href="/Text/CHERO/Ganan/Bio.txt"/>
Since this change there has been no problem with hero names not being shown, though I may of had a problem when I manually created a text file for Name.txt and Bio.txt, so something you could try doing is just copy an existing folder with the name and bio text in it and just rename and edit to fit your hero.

What version of a map are you making/playing? Is it SM or MP? Running with the old A.I. or 5.5?
The resaon I ask is because I've read where scripts won't run in MP but when I ran the map under 5.5, some did.

Have you tried to rename mod extension into a .pak and put into data directory? that may help.

Would it be possible to make a mod to remove the initial random ATB value when starting a battle? Or make it not random, or something?

Hi, I'm trying to find the texture of Treant, Ancient Treant, Druid Elder and Emerald Dragon from data.pak. Unfortunately, the search did not yield any result
Does anyone know where's the textures of these units? I found all the other textures of sylvan units.
