Homm 3 biology class

Good evening pupils this thread is entirely about a scientific veiw of homm three.
SPOILER: i am not a biologist
WARNING: THIS IS ENTIRELY FAN FICTION THESE FACTS ARE NOT APPORVED BY UBISOFT OR 3DO
I will start by explaining the biology of the rust dragon.
:TOMMOROW:FAIRY DRAGON
The rust dragons diet is very high in iron which gives it its red color.
A rust dragon has evolved to the point where rust causes no damage to its body.
However the rust dragon has smaller wings than other dragons due to the fact that its high iron diet hardened its bones and now it is too heavy to fly for long periods of time.
a rust dragons fire comes from its lungs which inhale nitrogen and carbon and exhale sulfer dioxide a very flammable and corrosive gas.
Rust dragons dwell withing ancient ruins Filled with rusting metal ornments and plenty of prey.
Their dwellings are often layered in sulfer that has settled and hardened.
If a rust dragon is exposed to Air that lacks sulfer its fire will decrease in size and temperature.

Maybe I can help shed some light on these creatures...

THE RUST DRAGON
In the wild, untamed Mudlands where the nation of Tatalia has held sway for hundreds of years, exotic creatures of all shapes and sizes thrive.  Highly regarded as a place where almost any wild animal can adapt to their surroundings, the swamplands of Antagarich are both serene, and feral.  The beautiful, treacherous jungles are the ancestral home of beasts innumerable.  Among the greatest, reclusive and most foul-tempered of them is the Rust Dragon.

As with most ancient, deadly beasts, their origin is shrouded in mystery, but after some careful analysis of dragon skeletons it is believed that they are descended from Red Dragons who somehow made their way west of Nighon or perhaps Enroth and settled within the swamps.  They are much stronger than other dragons, possibly a result of the fact that they have never been 'domesticated' by civilisation, but are a hundred times rarer.  In fact, they were believed to be extinct for many decades until their apparent return.

Their diet consisting of the Gorgons who also dwell within Tatalia's borders, Rust Dragons feed in sulfur mines.  As such, their appetite causes them to spew a concentrated acid, capable of eating through the strongest armour.  They have been known to gather in abandoned pyramid-like ruins deep within the mangroves, relics of a forgotten race, and occasionally lend their aid to the Beastmasters of Tatalia, for though they are nonsentient, they know better than to jeopardise a chance for food in the form of slain enemies.

Over the years, the Rust Dragons have evolved into a form different than that of their original countenance.  The most ancient of the Rust Dragons offer a glimpse of their original form.  Known differently as the Rust Wyrms, they are even more powerful, and though their systems are more demanding of sulfur, the cost is well worth the gain to any who can subdue them and gain their aid, for they can easily bring down legions.

In recent years, the Rust Dragons have resurfaced.  Their first major appearance in the century occured midway through the Clash of the Dragons war (1166 A.S.) wherein the Dragon Queen of Nighon, Mutare, somehow lured the ancient monsters to her side.  After her eventual defeat, Rust Dragons began to fade into obscurity again, only to resurface in Bracada where the peaceful townsfolk of Ochre fell prey to their acidic onslaught.

As derived from the Heroes III Manual:

Quote:
"Rust Dragons are known to hunt Gorgons, and live and feed in sulfur mines. With this appetite, Rust Dragons spew a concentrated acid as their primary attack.  This acid is capable of eating through the strongest armor, lowering the defense of its target while inflicting further damage."

As derived from the mouth of Dracon, Dragon Slayer extraordinaire:

Quote:
"Rust Dragons have taken to feeding from the mines near the town of Ochre.  These uncommon beasts have chased off the peasantry and now their livelihoods are in jeopardy.  As a hero, I should do this for the town's people.  Yet I do this to hone my skills.  Where Rust Dragons abound, the Azure may be nearby."

As derived from the mouth of Tarnum, the Immortal Hero:

Quote:
"While I was freeing the good Dragons from Mutare's control, the Dragon Queen lured the Rust Dragons to her side.  At one time, these wild and unpredictable beasts were believed to be a myth because no one ever survived an encounter with them.  Even the good Dragons thought they had all died off, but somehow Mutare found them."
