World Tree/Fiery Moon
World Tree/Fiery Moon
Years ago, when Heroes Chronicles came out, if you at least 2 of those games installed on your computer, you could download the World Tree and Fiery Moon.
Does anyone know if either of those games are still available for download anywhere?

NO. Heroes Chronicles: The World Tree was released years before Warcraft III came along.

Yes (all eight versions actually), but I don't know whether it would be against the CoC to make them available.

I just downloaded WT and FM from the links you gave, and the installation went fine, except for the fact that it didn't recognize my directX, which happened with a couple of my other chronicles games, but didn't cause any problems either in installation or gameplay. So anyways, installation went fine, tried to bring up the game, after a couple seconds of nothing, the screen went black like it was starting, but then I got one of the normal microsoft error reports, and had to go back to desktop, same thing happened with the other one. My other Chronicles games are working fine - any idea what could be wrong?

Have you tried inserting one of the other Chronicle discs into your drive and then start the game? If I recall, that worked for me. Must test it though.
Oh, and don't mind the DirectX problem - as you say it won't affect the game at all. I suspect the game is too outdated to recognise the newer versions, which is where the error comes from.

No problem. I dunno where you'll find a copy of The Final Chapters nowadays, but I uploaded both campaigns in Heroes III format a while ago in this thread. You can download them there and play them in Heroes III, if it's the story you're interested in (which, let's face it, is really good).
If one of the moderators sees this thread and allows me to, I can upload all eight chronicles, with their opening videos, custom main menus and everything. I won't do it without permission though.

That would be very nice of you! Indeed, I don't see a reason why someone would protest it.
