A lot of changes to specializations, skills and creature abilities can be done in the Gamemechanics\rpgstats\defaultstats.xdb

Unfortunately I found out recently it is not possible to boost all specializations, for example: creature specializations cannot be boosted.

OMFG!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!! QP!QP!QP!QP! What about H3 heroes? since i sort of hate H4... can you make a separate mod with H3 heroes?

It is H4 that was cartoonish and gay, and H5 that is magical and cool.

Nuh uhhh! H3 and H4 had decent, magical mysterious atmospheres, H5 is too bright and cartoonish Although mind you, that might actually be blamed on the change to 3D models. Frankly I find most 3D games to be lacking the magical and mysterious atmosphere many 2D games had.

I want it to be compatible with your HoA. If you agree, I will publish pack containing both ones working together as soon as I'll finish the Spell Switch.

Impossible of course, probably the only thing you can do is changing the light in your favourite maps to dawn or night and add more fireflies.

I know most people like h3 more, that's why I selected as much h3 heroes as possible. And what's more,I kept some places reserved for some very important ones I had no real portrait for(gelu,vokial for example). I didn't use portraits from h3 because their quality is very low, they would look terrible in the hero-info screen.

I really like this mod - thanks magus, for a great piece of work

I have one question regarding the new difficulty settings:
Is it possible to play 'Expert' level without AI cheating? So far only 'Hard' has this feature.

I find AI cheating too hard to beat, so I only want it on 'Champion', is that possible?

It is impossible to create 3 difficulty levels without cheating because cheating is 'hard-coded' on the two highest difficulty levels. But thats nothing to worry about, because the feature you are asking does in fact already exist. Hard = Expert without cheating. There is only one difference between hard and expert (besides cheating): on expert the neutrals are slightly more powerful (1.3 instead of 1.1). 1.1 was the setting for hard in custom games, 1.3 was the setting for hard in campaign games. But this is really the only difference, the AI is not more stupid on hard then on expert. The idea behind the mod was to create a better gradual increase in difficulty this way.

I think the AI is smarter on 'Expert' than on 'Hard'. I played a random map recently on 'Hard' and the AI never flew from a losing battle to save his main hero. (on 'Expert' = old'Hard' he does that frequently).

In most games I stand no chance against cheating AI - he levels and grows faster than me.

So for me the perfect difficulty level would be:
equally starting money/resources
AI highest level
no cheating
strong monsters 1.3

I fear if the cheating and AI smartness are bound in hardcode then it won't be possible to do this.

I have checked the settings of the mod again and the settings for being cautious are the same for hard and expert, so that means you are maybe right and there are more settings 'hard-coded' then cheating only. One advise I can give you is to use the hard setting for playing small maps and the expert setting for large maps. For myself i have often problems beating a cheating AI on small maps because it comes too soon, on large maps when I have have more time to prepare things seems to be more easy. You can also try different factions for the AI, in my experience the AI plays best with sylvan or Haven and worst with inferno. I think this has something to do with the special skills, the gating-ability needs human brains to be effective.

Same goes for me. The Expert AI is really tough on small maps - a rush in week 3 is very likely if the border guards are weak. The enemy always has advantage in hero level with a decent army - sometimes even tier7 units.
Damn this cheating!

again, great Mod - I like the old heroes style from H3 / H4

Here is a mod that swaps arantir with sandro, to make him available on all maps install this mod together with the campaign hero unlocker. Make sure the file date of this pack is more recent then the filedate from the campaign hero unlock mod, otherwise it will not work!

I made it work, but before i have managed to make sandro a reanimator instead of the fast turn... keeing the sorcery and summoning but without the master of life... and when i tried it now it didnt work, i have to leave him as is. isnt there a way. If you want to kill me i understand ... and thanks a lot dude uve been a BIG HELP !!!
