Patch 1.2 Pre-Release Notes

Hello Heroes,

First of all, we’d like to thank you for the feedback you have been giving us since the release of the game. Whatever channel you use (official site, customer support, Facebook, Twitter or other community forums), we are taking it into account.

We know you have been waiting a long time for the patch. This time has been secured for developers to make sure the patch will correct a majority of issues. We did not want to speculate and promise anything uncertain neither. Now we can go ahead and share with you a pre-release notes of corrections that will be included in the patch 1.2.

The release date has not been stated for the moment. Yet, we are aiming at releasing the patch 1.2 before the end of the year. That’s a necessary delay for us to run all necessary technical tests in order to secure the quality of the coming patch.

We can understand that you are getting impatient and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support.

Check out below the pre-release notes for the coming patch. Keep in mind that the list is not definitive yet:

• Major bug fixes (Week of the Plague, Dynasty weapons, unit abilities, scripts, localization)


• Skirmish AI tweaks:


- Tries to defend all owned town (previously the AI focused on its starting town)

- Previously if a hero stronger then the AI's hero threatened a town, the AI hero let that town undefended. Now the AI calculates all of its nearby hero's army and creature growth and defends the town if it finds it possible

- Always defends the last owned town if it can causes reasonable losses to the attacker hero

- Huge speed improvement, AI thinking is approximately 2-3 times faster than in the previous version

- Further improvement of cooperation among primary and secondary heroes

- Improved exploration and target priority

- Pre-calculated army contraction. The AI calculates how many creatures can the target collect (including possible creature growth) before the AI's hero can reach it and calculates if it is worth to chase it.

- Further improvement of Town portal usage

- In case of an FFA the AI tries to attack and capture towns from a weaker player

- FIXED: Sometimes the AI attacked a much stronger hero than itself

- FIXED: Sometimes without reason the AI split its army into 2 and lost against a stronger hero

- FIXED: Sometimes the AI miscalculated the cost of a town portal and spent too much points before trying to use it (resulting an undefended town)

- FIXED: The AI ignored some neutral buildings

- FIXED: Several smaller bug fixes



• Combat AI tweaks:


- General target choice improvement for the units

- Improved ability usage

- Improved racial ability usage

- Improved ability selection and different builds for Magic/Might, Tears/Blood heroes

- Improved creature ability usage



• Gameplay improvements:


- The unit setup after using the Tactics ability is remembered from battle to battle



• Intel support:


- Fog calculation

- Variance shadow mapping vs. hardware shadow mapping



• Balance tweaks:


- Rage II-IV gives +10 Might Attack instead of +15

- Rage points generated by attacks reduced to 16(friendly)/8(enemy) (from 20/10)

- Guardian Angel: Good moral gives 70 racial points (instead of 100)

- Retribution aura cooldown increased to 5 instead of 3

- Haste initiative bonus increased to 12 (from 10)

- Slow initiative reduction increased to 12 (from 10)

- Mass Haste initiative bonus increased to 6 (from 5)

- Mass Slow initiative reduction increased to 6 (from 5)

- Father Sky damage increased to 380 (from 353)

- Idol of Air damage increased to 276/318/366 (from 240/277/319)

- Martyr Might Resistance and Health bonus reduced to +10.8%/12.4%/14.3% (from +21.6%,24.9%,28.6% Might Resistance, +13%,15%,17% Health)

- Hour of Judgement bonus damage increased to 31% (from 21%)

- Hell Hound Might Defense increased to 5 (from 4)

- Cerberus Might Defense increased to 6 (from 4)

- Kirin and Sacred Kirin movement reduced to 6 (from 7)

- Kirin Magic Defense increased to 33 (from 32)

- Sacred Kirin Might Defense reduced to 31 (from 33)

- Sacred Kirin Magic Defense reduced to 33 (from 35)

The official date for the 1.2 patch is December 20

The patch notes seem to remain the same.

   What the fixed bug is about?

It appeared with the release of 1.2 patch that achievement could be copied from one user to another by using the Compare Profile feature. That means that a further advanced player could regress by comparing his achievement with those of a less advanced player. This only affects achievement and no other part of player profile.

1.2.1 patch fixes this bug and now prevents achievements to be copied.



    When the patch will be live?

Patch will be released on January 5th for all territories.



   Did it affect all the players?

All players using the Compare Profile feature upon 1.2 release could get affected. But if you did not use it, then your achievements are safe. Of course, this issue is not happening anymore with 1.2.1 patch.



    How can I check out if it has affected my account?

Go to the Achievements menu and check if previously unlocked achievement are now locked again. It worked the other way too, if you have compared with a further advanced player.



   After the patch release, will I get back all my lost achievements?

All achievements can be retrieved again but not automatically. Some of them will come back very easily, like XP and Dynasty Level related ones since it will update once you gain level in each area. Unfortunately, other achievements rely on user progress and require to play a bit to get them back. None achievement are lost forever.



   Can I get rewards for the achievements twice?

No, achievements unlocked after being lost through Profile Compare will not award the Dynasty Seals again.

Ubisoft servers downtime

Hello Heroes,

Over the past few months, we’ve heard your feedback and have been investigating the best ways to make improvements in our services’ availability.
As a result, we’re transitioning the hosting of many of our online services from a third-party data center to a new facility, starting February 7 at 8 p.m. EST.

During the transition, some Ubisoft services and online games will not be available – a full list of affected games and services can be found here .
We apologize for the inconvenience. This move ultimately will help us improve the maintenance of our infrastructure and deliver better uptime and greatly improved services for our customers. You can follow migration progress through our Ubisoft twitter account.

This is nnouncement from Ubisoft community manager on official forum. Sure enough Heroes are on the list of the games that will be affected by this. They didn't say anything about how long conflux will be unavailable. If it is like forum migration we will be without any online service for quite some time...

Heroes 6 Patch Communication (starting with the patch 1.3)

Hello dear Heroes,

To start, we'd like to apologize for these last months of silence. A number of issues needed to be resolved before we could resume communication, but we want to assure (and reassure) you that our commitment to improving, fixing and expanding the game is stronger than ever. Additionally, we'd like to thank you for your valuable feedback you've been sharing with us for many weeks. It is of a great help for us.

Now it is time for us to share with you some information about the coming confirmed fixes and gameplay improvements we have been working on.

Please, note that this list is not exhaustive and can still be modified. We'll keep you updated about all the  changes or new corrections if there are some.

Now let's go into more detail about what's next on Heroes VI.

First of all, we would like to ensure you that in the coming months there will be released several patches aiming to improve your Heroes VI game experience: bugs fixes, features fixes and tweaks, new features, balance improvements etc. We will also improve the map Editor along this patch process.

Just to give you a heads up, the planning of the coming patches is as follows:

- Patch 1.3 will be released on second half of March
- Patch 1.4, end of April
- Patch 1.5, end of June
- Patch 1.6, end of July
- Patch 1.7, end of August.

We are going to have this steady stream of patches for the next six months while keeping you in the loop about the content of patches. Of course, your feedback is crucial for us. Please, post your ideas and suggestions on this forum.

1.3 patch will include a mix of online features along with a first set of bug fixes.

Online features:

- Invite Friends: you'll be able to invite players from your friend list directly in-game.
- Official Map Tags: highlight official maps released by Ubisoft and the others in the map selection screen.

Bugs fixes:

- Abilities/Gameplay/Campaign:

- Sanctuary - The "Challenge" ability has no functionality.
- Sanctuary - The "Trail of Clouds" will completely stop the movement of enemy units that attempt to cross its area of effect.
- Haven - The Imperial Griffin creature can use its special ability while frozen.
- Menu - The tooltips of the Reputation Abilities do not indicate the proper school which they belong to.
- Necropolis - Wasting Grounds does not award the bonus stated in its description
- Campaign -The primary quest "The Choice” will not complete when the user upgrades his reputation after visiting an Arena.
- Campaign - The hero cannot interact with a Dragon Nexus near the town of Nar-Heresh
- Campaign – In multiplayer, the resources spawn outside the island on Tree of Plenty map.
- Campaign - The user cannot select any hero for the Epilogue campaign after previously visiting the other campaign tabs
- The Unyelding trait the user receives for finishing the Sanctuary campaign does not work
- The Barbarian Hero trait the user receives for the Wormchopper achievement does not work as stated in the description.
- The custom hero changes into Irina at the beginning of Sanctuary 2.
- Create Hero panel's class specific ability name is not localized.

- Multiplayer:

- The player that is attacked during a Multiplayer session by another player can't complete any Combat Achievements during that battle
- During Siege, one of the player remains on the map if the other player exit the session.
- If the user is defeated by not completing the condition to re/capture a town or fort in 7 days - he will receive achievements completed by the AI
- There is no confirmation dialog when kicking another player from the lobby.
- Some of multiplayer map name is displayed to English
- A previously saved session cannot be finished after being reloaded, if not all the players rejoin the saved game.
- The user that does not join a loaded game will still have his assets in the game.
- The client remains on infinite loading screen if he joins any Multiplayer server after he lost his internet connection

- Conflux:

- The user cannot buy the newly unlocked items from the Altar of Wishes when reaching a new Dynasty rank, until he advances one more Dynasty level.
- The information provided when using "Compare" is incomplete
- The Online Profile displayed is the one of the previous selected friend, if changing the tab to Online Profile after choosing Compare achievements option from the Friends list.
- The Player statistics transfer from one player to another after using the "Compare" and "Details" .
- When selecting the "View online profile" option for a friend from the friends list, the achievements list shown remains the one of the user.
- The confirmation message received when trying to remove an active widget is not localized
- The user cannot see the details and compare the achievements with the other in "leaderboards" and "friends".
- After losing the connection to Conflux servers on the transition to the Main Menu, a debug text error is displayed and the Main Menu background disappears
- The user is unable to load any save while in game, after reconnecting to the Internet

- Various:

- Map Editor - The maps created with the Editor do not appear in the Multiplayer game lobby.
- The sound FX is distorted when modifying the movement of the AI, units and Hero.
- None of the artifacts present in the Artifact Merchant menu has a description.

It seams there is some kinf of contest linked with Heroes VI going o in Heroes Kingdoms. The price should be a Dyasty weapon but I cant find No information anywhere.
(My bet on the perfect silksword)

We are happy to inform you that the patch 1.3 is now ready to be released and will be available tonight by 1 a.m GMT. To download it you need to connect to the game, download of the patch will start automatically.

We would like to take this opportunity to confirm that Black Hole is no longer working on Heroes VI, and I am very happy to introduce you to the studio we are now collaborating with: Limbic Entertainment, from Germany. You might have noticed this name from the credits of Heroes VI: Limbic worked with Black Hole during the final stages of Heroes VI’s development. Our commitment to improve and enrich the game remains unaltered, and Limbic has joined us to support the post-launch of Heroes VI. Limbic’s team are experts on the Heroes’ system, so it's only a matter of getting up to speed on a different portion of the project.

Next patches are in work as communicated a few weeks ago. We will let you know soon what we have in store for you. Stick around!

We are currently not only working on the patches, but also on the much-awaited town-screens and new content. We’ll tell you more about these later.

But let’s get back to the patch 1.3 which will be released tonight!

The patch 1.3 release notes are as follows:  

Online features:

o Auto-matchmaking: let the game find an opponent for you.
o Invite Friends: you’ll be able to invite players from your friend list directly in-game.
o Official Map Tags: highlight official maps released by Ubisoft and others in the map selection screen.

Bugs fixes:

o Abilities/Gameplay/Campaign:

- Sanctuary - The "Challenge" ability had no functionality.
