No problem, it happens.
On the KO-ing thing, in-game I'm explaining it as a safety measure installed on the Pokeballs to protect the Pokemon. It IS possible to hospitalize, maim, and kill Pokemon, but that's harder to do than knock them out. Thus, if you aren't even allowed to knock them out, you probably aren't going to do lasting damage trying to catch them.

If there's an issue with going out to check the wilds, we can skip over it for now and register a Training Action for one of my pokemon representing her practice out there later. We can simply skip to her investigating the battlefield after detailing some experience out there.

Pft, what's a Trainer Action? Wrong game, Eph. Wrong game.

gnomes is correct, this isn't PTA or PTU; this is a heavily heavily houseruled version of the handhelds. That said there should be no problem with going out and searching for Pokemon.

[quote=House Rules]TRAINING:
You can train your Pokemon whenever you have some time to kill and a reasonable amount of space to train in. You train your Pokemon by working with them uninterrupted for a certain stretch of time (dependent on level); you can fluff it however you like. Beyond that, there are no specific requirements other than that your Pokemon must be in reasonable state to be trained (i.e. not unconscious, asleep, or similarly inconvenienced) and you the trainer must be involved in the training (not asleep or doing something that would significantly distract you).
You can train a Pokemon up one level in (current level/10 drop decimal) hour(s) (or half an hour if they’re below level 10). You may only train one Pokemon at a time using this method.
Training action, IE, taking the time to Train my pokemon up a level. Nothing pta or ptu related.
Regardless, looking for pokemon is fine, so that'll work out.

Yeah, I was just offering something that we could put that to use for instead incase wilds wasn't viable. But it was, so no problem.

I realized I hadn't factored in the EV boost for Litwick--Flame Burst should hit FOUR targets right now (your primary target, plus splash damage on three more) not three. This should be fixed in the CS thread now.
I'm also going to limit the effects of Shadow Tag to ten Pokemon per ten levels your Pokemon has in the same way Tail Whip is currently calculated (that is, level 1-10 can trap 10 Pokemon, level 11 to 20 can trap 20, and so on). This is unlikely to provide any limitation you need to worry about (most of our fights don't get much bigger than you can already trap) but if we wind up with a colossal army of enemy Pokemon to fight, you're forewarned.

I can't wait until I get different and more effective splash damage, this is unlikely to do much. I imagine the auto 1/16ths of hp will be more impressive though once we fight tougher opponents. I'm also scared that litwick is going to have a rough time due to hop hip moves and such, it'll be tedious dealing with those effects. But really I'm preparing myself for the typical results of a 6 on one fight. How many of my pokemon am i allowed to use at once at points anyway, because I just know that litwick is probably incapacitated at best on their first go. I might want/need to use them all at once to fight this if I'm allowed, but this is a good trial to see how these things work out before a truly dangerous battle happens.
On a side note, I'm perfectly fine with Shadow Tag being limited that way. Less limited than I expected.

I was able to direct 8 pokemon in one battle (2 ally and my 6) so I'm thinking that you can really use however many pokemon you want at any given time. It will likely cut down on the exp gained and cause you to lose your voice, but...

@gnomes: Sure, since you want one.

Think of it as practice for X and Y, if you're planning to play those. These are wild Pokemon, use as many of your own as you want. There will be some situations (friendly battle with other trainers, for example) where you're limited to one or two at a time, but this isn't one of those.

Indeed. I'll also get to learn how you're handling status, like how long pokemon stay asleep, and all. Time to give stuff a try.

I think I should have her check her bandages; Mina's bleeding text.
Incidentally, Hoppip # 6 failed horribly that round.
--First it uses Poison Powder on a Steel type.
--Then it's going after its friend who had already hit said Steel type with Stun Spore, so even if she wasn't a Steel type, it wouldn't have worked.
--Then it missed on top of all that
--Then it gets knocked out before it can use the attack in the first place!

Yeah that was a pretty awesome level of fractal failure in every conceivable dimension.
Also failure on my part for not realizing hoppip is a grass/flying and thus is neutral to bug. I'll use something more proper this time.
