Hello I'm here just to ask some questions.
I'm wondering could someone please tell me in a nutshell how to play this?
I don't know anything about this kind of RPG's, but I do love pokemon so "a little bit" interested.
Another thing, if I "join" this or what I'm supposed to call it how much effort do I need to put in it? I mean if I find out I don't like it or something like that...

And the last and most important question, can I have Nidoran as my start Pokemon?

In a nutshell, you run around pretending to be a Pokemon trainer trying to catch/strengthen your Pokemon and defeat the evil Team Bandra.

Posting time ranges from about once a day to 2-3 times per week depending on how busy everyone else is. If you decide to join then discover it’s not for you, you tell the GM (that’s me ) and we write you out/pretend you never existed. I will warn you that although it isn’t a very intensive commitment it IS very long term; this game has been going on for about three years now, and we aren’t done yet.

You may indeed start with Nidoran. If you want to join up, I’ll need some basic information about your character (name, age, gender, region of origin, basic description) as well as nine other Pokemon you’d like to have in your party. Then I go over the list, tell you which ones are okay to start with, and you pick three out of the ten (so for example Nidoran and two others). As a general guideline for Pokemon: no Legendaries, no really rare Pokemon (ex: starters, fossil Pokemon).

Well, if this is the case

Name: Zelgius
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Region: Johto
Appearance: Tall, white hair and eyes, medium build. Wears white and gray long sleeved clothing with a zipper, unless the location is very hot. Then Zelgius wears green t-shirts and brown jeans.
Background: Zelgius grew up in the mountains of the Johto region, finding the cool mountain air much to his liking. Many of his pokemon are of this region, except those that he caught while out on vacations with his family. These others were caught in the plains next to the shore or city his family was visiting. He is out of the mountains now alone without any warning, more because the urge to do so came over him than anything.

Possible starters: Scyther, Nidorino, Froslass, Glaceon (Or Eevee, for now), Onix, Skarmory, Larvitar, Aaron, Abra, Vulpix

Okay thanks, I'm gonna lurk around a bit and then I'll add the other pokemons and the descriptions and all that.
This is going to be sweet...

@Jabanoss: I guess that’s one way of looking at it.

@gnome: No Eevee or Eeveelutions; there’s only been one in Helnith in the last thirty years. But talk to Mytical’s character in-game if you want one. Froslass (or perhaps I should say the Dawn Stone to get that Pokemon? ) is likewise rather hard to get for the level we’re at now, but if you want to start with a Snorunt I’ll guarantee it’ll be female so you can evolve it to that form later. Rest are fine, though if you want Nidorino instead of Nidoran (M) it’ll have to be your starter. (Your starter will be level 20, the other two will be level 15. Since Nidoran evolves at level 16…yeah. ) Other than that, let me know which three you want to start with.

After countless of battles against Pikachus, Caterpies and Weedles in the Viridian forest, Sarahs pokemons have naturally gained increased speed. However for reasons unknown they have also gained more attack and sp. attack.
The Metapods and Kakunas have been taken care of by Poliwag, giving it increased defense.

Nidoran: (15 EV)
attack +5
sp. attack +6
speed +4

Poliwag: (10 EV)
attack: +2
defence: +5
sp. attack +2
speed: +1

Trapinch: (10 EV)
attack: +2
sp. attack: +2
speed: +6

Haha my Trapinch is very thankful, he loves using Flail to finish his opponents

Hmm I'm reminded that I forgot to say that my Nidoran should be a Nidorino since it has level 20. But nevermind that, it doesn't matter as soon as he hit the next level he will evolve anyway.

Years of living in the mountains have hardened Zelgius's pokemon to the extremely harsh cold and winds, raising their special defense. Zelgius has also gone out running with his pokemon rather allot, racing them except for his Scyther. Because of his rigorous training exercises his pokemon are faster then normal. All of them have also fought against pokemon with strong non-physical moves, causing all of them except Aaron to adapt to suit their environment.

Scyther (15 points)
Attack: +2
Defense: +3
Special attack: +5
Special defense: +5

Snorunt (10 points)
Special attack: +4
Special defense: +3
Speed: +3

Aaron (10 points)

Yeah, this is why this game (and most other PbP games, for that matter) take so long. Even in freeform, you need to wait for other people to come online. *sigh*

Edit: Before I forget - ohforf, mamga, wog, your level-ups are in progess. I have some number crunching to do and I need to check Zucruu's Happiness value.

So I've been looking a bit on the maps and since I'm still interested in breeding some pokemons, I found that the location of Keida is relative close to Ternai.

However, I could not find it clearly enough in the rpg thread, so I'll just ask here. We're headed towards Ternai, but the pokemon center we're arriving in next is on the road and still far away right, we're not already in Ternai are we?
