Well, Zack doesn't know your history.
All he knows is that Misty seem to want to kill herself, so maybe if she felt like the 'wiser' one, she would hesitate.
Likewise Mina doesn't seem to like Zelgius, at least it's Zacks impression.
So the groups seems kinda obvious, from his perspective.

Actually he doesn't. Geodude's moves currently are as follows:
Tackle
Defense Curl
Mud Sport
Rock Polish
Rock Throw
Magnitude
I'm assuming you're triggering one with Magnitude though, so don't worry about it.

Ohh right, rock throw was the weaker version of rockslide. Where you just throw a rock instead of causing a rock slide. I forgot sorry.

So I kinda took matters into my own hands. Mostly because it seemed unpractical that I was the guy who lacked responding to end the Christian, Zack and Zelgius scene. While on the same time being the guy who were to start the next scene.
Though I'll edit my post, if Christian/Zelgius tells Zack, before they get back to Mina, Misty and Sarah, that they want to wait for Bandra.

I think it's a joke on intelligence! Gnomes is probably RP'ing a standard military guy. I realised this while reading up on how to RP and stumbling across this in the goblins comic:

Ah Damn, *Facepalms* Sorry. Should have talked to you about that one... 
For all, Zelgius's personality further explained. (And general tactics):
-Paranoid when tired.
-Trigger happy. 
-Makes stuff up on the fly, but tries to be prepared. (So no, Ohforf, he didn't think of this weeks in advance. Sure his pokemon are well trained, but not the most disciplined. For example: Snourunt uses powdered snow on Zelgius. Aaron trips Zelgius and then jumps on top of him. Such things will happen in the future)
-Will walk into a potentially dangerous position, but has the majority of his pokemon around him or trailing him.
-Likes the cold.
-Will eat anything and everything. Has a sweet tooth.
-Likes discipline and order.
-Rants when tired.
-Dislikes liars.
-Dislikes people who don't trust him.
-Dislikes Mina (Obvious)
-He is a medic, so (If he was awake and knew where the **** he was) most of his tactics will be made to keep others from being harmed. He will work himself to the point of unconsciousness (Coming rather soon...) If he thinks that it can save someone.
-He doesn't care about little pains, (Trips, slaps, punches, etc) unless they happen to be on his back/ the back of his shoulders. No matter what, that makes him wince or grimace.
-Can't think of every situation, but tries to think of the possible ones. (He knew Christian had a Geodude and one other pokemon, but didn't know about Scyther... Would have been torn to shreds.)
-Likes to act more than talk... As difficult as that seems...
-Doesn't think twice about his plans.

Yeh, already know that no need to remind me. But seing as we obviously were not going to fight anyway I just decided to screw with you and say I gave Geodude Scyther's pokéball and have him sneak up behind you. Did it for the lulz and because I was unserious about the whole situation.
EDIT: Btw gnomes, when Christian said he found on a grunt and that it was damaged what he implied was that he had looked over the map and drew whatever he could make out of it before discarding it.
