With nightshade hitting that hard, Mina’s opponent decided to go a bit on the offensive, calling for their pokemon to use Confusion.

Mark waved back with his mechanical arm, and actually took a second to step over to that trainer and he said, “Hey there, n-name’s.” He squinted at that, then made it a point to clearly state, “Name’s Mark. We had a match earlier, and your pokemon were a bit tougher than I was expecting! I was wondering if you had a particular item or technique that you’d used to boost your team?”
((Before bed))
Frowning a bit at the sound, Mark checked his team to make sure everyone was healthy just in case, and then he walked over to snoop. He was a bit of a busybody like that, apparently.

Mark (at Trainer Hill):
The trainer lowers his sunglasses for a moment to get a better look at you. “Oh, hey, you’re the trainer with the Froslass right? I don’t know if I should tell you, I’d be giving away all my secrets.” He pauses for long enough to suggest he’s serious, but then the grin on his face widens and he continues. “Just joking! It’s this pink stuff,” he fishes around in his pockets for a moment, before extracting a pinkish lump. “It’s called Eviolite; it makes unevolved Pokémon tougher. I think they make it at Uh-Oh, but you’ll see it come up as a prize here from time to time.” He nods to the prize board, then gives you a considering look over the reflective lenses of his glasses. “I’ll trade you a piece of it, if you’ve got a Dragon Scale or a Dragon Fang or anything like that.”
(Before Bed):
As you approach you can gradually make out the words. It’s dark so you can’t say for sure, but it might be one of the other trainers you battled today. He’s standing in front of what at first glance appears to be a rock formation of reasonable size but on second glance is an Onix. Its head is so low its nose is practically in the dirt.
“…can’t hit for beans and can’t take a hit either! You are useless!”
He takes a Pokéball off his belt, snaps it into two halves, then throws them at the Pokémon before stalking off. The Rock type looks miserably after him before it starts crawling forlornly in the opposite direction.

Knowing that Mina’s bird was faster, her opponent recalled their Kirlia and sent our their Spearow instead.
((ITEM TRAAAAAAADE))
“Yeah, the Frosslass among other ‘mon.” Mark says, giving the trainer a grin as he seemed to be the friendly type. When he brought up the Eviolite, Mark raised his eyebrows, and went digging into his bag. “Oh yeah, that would be super useful. It’s going to be ages before my Aron is fully evolved at the very least…” Pulling something out of his bag, he says, “I’ve got a Dragon Fang right here! Got a dragon you’re close to evolving?”
((Bed time))
What. An absolute. Jerk. Taking a deep breath to not just walk over and deck that ass in his smug, stupid face, Mark instead set out to follow the giant rock snake before it returned to the wild and stepped out in front of it. Glaring off in the direction of the trainer one more time, Mark would reach out his hand and say, “Hey, wait for a second.” Frowning, Mark looked out at the wilderness and sent out Tattersail. “She can translate for you. I saw what just happened back there, and that… Do you… know where you’re going?”

(When it's asleep 1 turn, does that mean 1 turn is skipped or that Drowzee got unlucky and Croaky's immediately waking up? If the latter I can slip in a bit about using Bubblebeam on the Butterfree)

((Mina’s fight… and not so fast! Gonna do two moves, one while Mina is switching and the other against Sandshrew…  ))
As Mina recalls her psychic bird, the trainer would call for their spearow to use Pursuit. After Mina sends out sandshrew, the trainer lets their spearow reset and then calls for the bird to use Aerial Ace.
((Item trade))
“Nice to meet you, Rad.” That couldn’t be this kid’s real name. Was it an image thing, a cool kid with awesome glasses kick or something? Shaking Rad’s hand, Mark said, “My name’s Mark! Which… IIIIIIIII… already… toooooold… you…” Saying those last words through a forced smile, Mark’s brain scrambled and he tried to think of something else he could say. “Uhhhh… can a pokemon use a mega stone and a held item at the same time?” Yeah, that was a good question!
((Before bed, and I’ll swap out my Corphish for now))
Reaching out with his non-robotic arm carefully, Mark rubbed along the depressed rock type’s head and sighed. “Well, that makes this an easy decision for me, then.” If the rock snake had nowhere to go, then Mark wasn’t taking them away from anything. “Your trainer was a jerk and bad at his job. No pokemon is useless… and if you join my team, I can promise you that we’ll prove him wrong.” At this point, Mark was going to need a bigger belt…

“Huh… you know? That makes sense.” Dragon fangs weren’t exactly common, but they were FAR less rare than mega stones. So if some jerk pokemon was going to yoink them, they might as well take the cheaper one. “Will you still be here tomorrow?”
(I’ve actually been playing a bit of Alpha Ruby/ Omega Sapphire recently, and it seems like megastones can get yoinked… unless you activate them first, in which case, they become unthiefable.)

“Well then, after I evolve my Aron and meet up with some of my buddies, I’ll maybe see you around!” Mark was going to be hanging around here the next few days, he might as well get to know a few of the other regulars. And with that he bid Rad farewell, got some food and moved on with his day. Marick was also given the Eviolite to hold for now.

Mark chooses not to give the onix a nickname yet. He would instead retire to bed, taking off his arm and glasses while laying in the cot. Shooting off a message to Mina, Mark would say, <Hey there Sunny, I’ve… uh… got an Onix now. I also happen to still have that metal coat. I know we were planning to do some poffin stuff tomorrow, think we could evolve the big guy before hand?>
