Imo armorer is a very important skill for all heroes and all towns. Naturally you dont need it with stronghold if you can totally crush your opponent round 1 with mass haste but in many cases you cant do that. Then you will be hit with exp slow and your opponent will hit you for 2 full rounds. You can also be hit by blind on your behemoths round 1 or your opponent can cast haste and do some damage before it gets your turn. In all cases it makes a huge diffrence whether you have armorer or not. And its also an important skill against the map. So Gundulas 4 in armorer is a big problem.

About water magic and clone: Its defenetly a disadvantage that Gundula is able to get water magic and you will try to avoid getting it in most cases. Clone will be usefull in very rare ocations.

Some heroes work better with certain towns than others. Inferno, stronghold and fortress rely heavily on the earth-air combo and the skill tactics. Castle, dungeon, ramp and tower dosent need earth AND air or tactics as much because of their better shooters and higher speed. Imo Gundula works best with the 2nd group of towns because of her low chance of getting both earth and air and her 5 in tactics.

Yes defenetly. I would choose all of them before Tyrexor. Both Taz and Mepha will get air in the end in most cases. Neela and Tyrexor are pretty close so I would try to level them both up a bit, but Neela would have first priority.

I just played a game with tower and Neela. As lvl 18 she hadnt been offered log, pf, off, tacs or archery. Thats pretty bad.

i just played a game with neela as well...
as of lv 16..
i had earth air log and off....
no tactics was offered to me though (i ended up learning from witch hut...)

on that note, i also played a game with voy (yes i KNOW witches are crap, and a navi specialist at that...)
As of lv 18, skills offered were: air, water, off, armourer, path. Learned earth from magic university. No log at all, my movement was still full green bar with a plus on it though (my lowest creature speed was that of MGs).

Most of the times i will pick any avarage barbarian over neela. And also the beastmasters, shakti or dace.

Neela starts with 1-1-2-2, wich means 2 might stats lower. By level 10 she is supposed to be something like 4-4-4-4. In comparison with the barbarians 10-3-1-2 and beastmasters 3-10-1-2 its 5 might stats points. Wich equals her speciality. Not to mention the wasted skill (scholar), and finally the not so perfect skill tree.

tried another game with neela.
at lv 14...
stat distribution: 5, 6, 4, 6  (I visited 1 garden of knowledge). The stat distribution isn't too bad.

Skill distribution. Expert Armourer, Scholar, Wisdom, Air, Expert Offence, Basic Archery. (wisdom, air, off, archery all offered to me)
I did not get offered earth
In fact, I rarely get offered earth with Neela, but when I use other alchemists such as Fafner, I get offered earth quite often...

Nobowu - thats not bad, thats alwfull stats distribution for a might hero. You need attack/deffence. You dont need knowledge/power.

And with all the respect, but i doubt your way of picking skills are good. You have wisdon for 3-rd skill. Thats what happen, when you level up on level 5. Because at level 6 you will always be ofered wisdom.

And i am not sure, if there was nothing worthy in the previous 5 levels.

I allways favoured Magic ober might so many of you will disagree with this list

1)Ciele
2 Valeska even more
3)Bron starts wits 2-5 basilisks; now That's cool !
4)Galthran/Irsa: a tie; angelito knows why
6)Crag Hack: best barbarian hero
7)Loynis: Prayer is the best spell ever
8)Tyraxor: fast en more powerfull worf r(a)iders, just what Stronghold needs + Able to cortroll arrow towers (artillery)
9)Gelare: Watermagic + +350 gp
10)Jeddite: Ressurection is cool! Combine with Earth magic

Tyraxor starts with offense and tactics not artillery :, and as far as the other list go's well, i would presume u have less multiplayer experience. But then again its ur list so u have every right to put craig anyhwere u want

lv 18 neela now, got offered log and earth in 2 consecutive levels o_O

I dispatched teal very very early on. Their main came into my tavern this week.
Lv 5 josephine, and she has expert log and basic earth!! I think it's just neela who gets bad skill offerings =.=

I guess I was a noob in 2008 too. Liophy is right about Neela. Especially her primary skills are weak. She is not a bad hero but not a top hero either. Seems I have to redo my list.

Well I think it will defintely not be a factor atleast for me when I am deciding on a hero.

Barbs and Overlords are excellent for me atleast.

Yes, barbarians are among the best heroes, no doubt about it.

Just pointing that with their attack rating and typically low defense berserk works very well against them.

If you want a barb balanced in attack and defence you just take defence every time you have the choice. Whats important is that they get att or def more often than any other class except beastmasters. The fact that they also get the best 2nd skills of all classes make them by far the strongest class.

Also beacuse of the high attack values and the low defense. I'll say that berserk is Strongholds greatest thread
