What belt are you? How long have you practised for? Do you do competition?

Well i tell you what are my hobbies.
My hobbies are all the things that i didn't manage to make them as my job.
I play music and i spent many hours on my acoustic.But i'm not musician even if i wanted so much.
I keep on playing soccer but i'm not a pro goal keeper as it was of my very early dreams.
So i started thinking what are my hobbies and i realize my hobbies are the things i would like to do as a job.
I'm just in trade navy academy now to become a captain.And guess what! It wasn't my dream!!So long live hobbies!!

I'm at 2:nd kyu now (Blue belt), and I've practised for about 7 years. I'm not a hardcore judoka who practises 24/7 so my progress has been pretty slow. Although the belt doesn't really matter, unless you're up for the bigger competitions were 1:st kyu is required... And yeah, I compete at most of the local competitions. Although school takes up most of my time now and I'm finding it hard to train as much as I want. Its the only sport which have really attracted me.
Jigoro Kano Ftw!

Martial Arts... He does Judo, interesting. Brazilian style? Ju don't (judo, lol) know if I have a gun or a knife..

Yep, 2. kyu as well, but I'm taking my exam for the brown belt after easter holidays. I can handle the kata pretty well I think, so it should be okay. I do competition as well, and I'm in the national team for Luxembourg, which doesn't say much, but there you go. I also have a sponsor deal with Adidas, if I wear their logo on the back of my kimono and promote them in public, I get 50% off of all their products.

yeah, naga no kata is what I'm looking forward the least too. You must mean Judogi right? Not kimono...?

Style, well Swedish Viking style I guess?
Msot people don't know that Judo isn't thought of as a self-defensive art. Jigoro Kano (The creater of Judo) wanted the sport to be, well just a sport. The fact that its based on Ju jutsu and therefore is pretty good to defend yourself with, is just a bonus.
Side note: Jigoro didn't want competitions at first either, he was convinced later.
And if you have a gun or knife... Well I can't dodge bullets but a knife is just an extension of the arm, so I should be able to handle it. Though I would prefer just running away...

Knife is only an extension of the arm, yes, but it is also much more than that.
One can severely hurt or kill you with a hand but it requires such force or skill that many don't have. But with a knife a ten year old kid can do the same amount of damage that a grown man can do without.
Besides of that a knife also has a psycholigical effect on both fighters. Don't underestimate it. If you haven't encountered anyone with a knife before it alone may be enough to "freeze" you.
Running is always a good and usually the best solution. Better keep that in mind.
EDIT: Judo isn't the best form of self-defense in any self-defense situation anyway. Like Adrious said it's a sport wrestling, like greco-roman or sambo.
