Where on earth are you getting the freedom of speech notion from? Doesn't really apply on internet forums that have moderators.
While comparisons with other systems may be relevant, unsupported criticism will just waste everyone's time.

Well did you read his post? People are entitled to their own opinions as long as they do not break the CoC. None have broken it, so that is where I got it from.

I read his post and I can understand that he doesn't want to see a thread he created with the purpose of postively discussing the Wii and sharing numbers devolving into "Wii sukz. PS3 FTW! M$ GTFWLAWL"

@ will and other violence perverts: actually, you guys(will and other people) are always getting off topic by discussing what makes a mature game mature and why Xbox 360 is better than Wii. thats not discussing the wii, its discussing the xbox 360 as well. besides, i made this thread, so i should no better.

That was the reason i didn't get a 360.
as for the targeted audience. the rating doesn't determine audience.
for example pikmin. simple gameplay and bright colors can draw in many gamers but there is a great amount of strategy and micromanagement.
pokemon has monsters and stuff. that appeals to younger audiences while the breeding and statistical stuff drew me in. (ev's iv's all that crap)
@wulf i see youy had experience...
but still a great many things about the ps3 and xbox were not experienced.
ps3 has free online and if played on a good tv excellent graphics.
also a good bunch of ps3 exclusives are great.
the xbox has some good features such as xbox live and arcade. but it really didn't improve as much as the other systems did over their predesscors

Exactly, rating does not determine who should be playing it, but rather suggesting whether it would be appropriate for certain age groups or not.
I have to agree with what was said about this being a thread to discuss the wii and not compare the wii to other consoles. So, to get back on track, how about this: do you have any ideas for new wii channels? if so, what are they?
I have an idea for one that I've been thinking of. What if there was a dvd channel? it would be very similar to the disc channel, but it would play dvd's instead of games and you could use the wiimote to pause, play etc. I'm not sure if it would be possible with the wii, but it would be very cool if it was.

We are getting off-topic are we? I think that violence and mature themes is part of the Wii. The reason why I said it was because the Wii lacks it. I guess that is off-topic for you as well huh?
I guess it is alright to discuss the games on it, like super smash brothers brawl, but we can't discuss the themes of the games?
Sure, you made thew thread, and I, and others, are discussing in it. You gave a discussion, and so did we. And that is what it is called, a discussion. If you can't handle people saying that the Wii is bad, well get over it. Not everyone will like what you like because we are all unique and have likes and dislikes. I will not agree with you and say that the Wii is cool and that I like to play it. That is not true.
I am free to discuss what I want about the Wii, and you really can't stop me. You really should take the time to read other people's posts as well, because everything has been tied to the Wii. I guess you haven't read other people's posts yet, which is a shame really because half of what you said is not true.

No kidding. I'll never understand why rifts formed in the videogame community. It never appeared that bad back in the Sega/Nintendo eras. Must be because of the internet or something.

yeah, I'm with you there OmegaDestroyer... You see, I really loathe the fact that everybody bashes the PS3 stating that it's used better as a grill or bbq, it's too expensive, it's... and I really can't understand why?? Why the rivalry between gaming systems? Does that come from human nature? I kno that earlier I did the same thing (bashing the Wii, that is ) but seriously I wasn't mean about it. Every console has it's flaws. yeh so ps3 can be a little expensive, but it has, and will have great games. Also Xbox, is another console with nice games. The same thing goes for Wii.. yeh, it's controls are revolutionary but imho it has childish games, and if not childish, than japanese-ish anime stuff that I PERSONALLY DO NOT LIKE. but I hate the rivalry between games, and systems and generally ppl.
A little bit off-topic but this is what I really think. The only games that I saw on Wii were the Zelda one and SSBB and were ok.
Also I would also like to state that games are not meant for idiotic 12-13-14 year old children that have no life and then go on to forums and bash ps3/xbox games. Games are made for everyone who wants to have fun, get out of this dusty world and relax.

Do you see the irony of your statement? You get upset for people crticizing one console over another, yet the above comment is doing just that.
I guess why people get so defensive is that they feel the need to defend their purchase. It's like disliking a console is taken as disliking the people who enjoy it.

First of all I was criticizing the children or noobs or how do you call'em, not the consoles. That was a mere example. But yeah, people get defensive because they feel the need to support their purchase. If I had the money, and time, I'd surely buy all of them.
On a personal note, don't want to be rude but stop finding mistakes or misunderstandings in my posts (not talking about you O.Destroyer, nor the HC forums, it was a more general way of talking out loud). See, my problem is not the console itself, because it's a damned machine (and a well crafted one  ). My problem is that every kid nowadays is so smart and fancy (sounded like I was 60 or somethin). Off topic as always...

If I had the money I would buy Wii.
360 if mass effect wasn't coming for pc. 
That's why it's useless to pay for 360 or ps3 if you have a pc.

I agree that a LOT of games that are made for 360 or ps3 come to pc also but there are, on the other side a LOT of games wich are 360/ps3/ps2 exclusive (Shadow of the colossus, the Mortal Kombats, God of War series and a lot more). That same thing goes for Wii, because Nintendo is well known for making exclusive games for their consoles.

I really hate that there aren't any new good fighting games on pc but at least you are wrong with mortal kombats.
Mortal Kombats till 4 came out on pc too.
Mortal Kombat 3 just might the fighting game still for pc.
