Pokémon Opal Confirmed!!
Hi guys! Being such a Pokéfan as I am (if you didn't know already, I'm running a Pokémon RPG in the Bard's Glade  ), I just felt the need to search for this rumored version. The results?
Well, the subject title says it all! Pokémon Opal confirmed!
The following information has been taken from:
Gamespot.com
Among the most interesting tidbits are (and I paraphrase):
- The ability to catch both Palkia and Dialga!
The Spear Pillar, as you all know it in Diamond/Pearl, will be replaced by the Nexus of Time, where you will be able to catch a Lv.60 Dialga, as well as several more of the harder to find Gold/Silver Pokémon. Later, a special Opal-only route will open, containing the Nexus of Space, wherein resides Palkia at Lv.60, as well as some harder to find FireRed/LeafGreen Pokémon.
Comment: Apparently, harder to find in the above paragraph = "you need to get the game in question to find said Pokémon". Gold and Silver Pokémon are spread all over the 3rd and 4th generations, by the way!  Perhaps, they'll include Shuckle in the NoT so people won't have to get Emerald. (fat chance! LOL!)
- Alterations to the D/P plot.
Chief among these will be the drastic changes to the plot after you free Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf from the clutches of Team Galactic. Instead of chasing Cyrus and attempting to prevent him from reaching Dialga/Palkia, you will be searching for the lair of Giratina...
Comment: Eww! I hate Giratina, even though it's Ghost/Dragon. Stopped reading about that subject there (hence, the reticence after Giratina  ), to be honest.
- Four new berries!
There will be four new berries in Opal Version. They will have effects as of yet unseen in the Pokémon games. Stay tuned for more details in upcoming weeks!
- The ability to catch Celebi! (hopefully; not completely confirmed )
Comment: They didn't want this to leak...but...
It seems Serebii.net caught wind of a recent info leak over at Pokémon Co. (aka. GameFreak  ) Apparently, the implementation of an area containing the ever-elusive legendary Pokémon is being heavily considered over there.
Comment: I sure hope so. $1000 US dollars says that it'll be event-only though...*cries* Not to mention, Celebi is already available in Japan. Hmm...this one sounds fishy.
- Complete reworking of animation speeds, both in and out of battle.
Note: Aleluya! 
The fans have spoken and Pokémon Co. has come through. The battle animations will be drastically reworked to increase the general tempo in battles. Outside of battle, there is less work to be done in terms of increasing game tempo, according to the designers, but everything will be done to increase the game speed to Emerald standards.
Comment: Hehe...serves them right for slowing down the game so badly in 4th generation.
- New Move Tutors!
In the spirit of Emerald, new move tutors will be placed inside of the Battle Tower. They will need to be paid BP for services rendered, but they will teach moves that many have considered to be particularly hard to breed/chain-breed into certain Pokémon. Not to mention, they can teach the same move as many times as you need it.
Comment: Expected. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Worked well enough in Emerald. I wonder what moves they'll teach exactly? 
That's basically what piqued my interest. There's some other stuff about cover art (Giratina will be gracing the cover...which is kinda eww for me...but, oh well.) and differing Pokémon random encounter frequencies. You know, the usual "third-game-in-a-sequence-of-games-syndrome" (aka. Yellow, Crystal and Emerald Syndrome)

Man, I wonder what extra FireRed/LeafGreen Pokémon will be available in this version...I don't want to get FR/LG (since I already have Emerald; item duplication FTW! )
I'm hoping for Growlithe and Seel.

Also, what can you expect? It's the "third game". In Emerald, you can catch both Groudon and Kyogre. Methinks they don't want to break that trend.
Also, don't worry about it. We all need to have our outbursts every once in a while.

Btw Winter, I voted on your town idea . I've read up on Opal, and it seems like it's going to be great. Somebody tried to get the rumor started about customizable heroes (minor things like clothes color), but that died down quick. One of the most recognizable features is their heroe's sprites. I do wish they would impliment that in Opal though.
After Opal, the next one will probably let you try to capture that one pokemon that supposedly created the time and space pokemon. Beyond that..who knows.

Hehe! Most likely.
Ruby/Sapphire had you catching the "weather" legendaries.
Emerald has you catching the Pokémon that pacified them in ages past (Rayquaza).
Heck, Pokémon Co. might decide to make Giratina the creator Pokémon. Wouldn't be the first time they pull a plot stunt like that.
*shudders*

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I hate caterpillars (Caterpie is cool ) but, I don't know, it looks like a bug, makes you want to squash him like a bug, and then his original form looks like...that...then, why isn't it a Bug/Dragon?!
But, enough of the over-excessive Giratina bashing.
What extra Pokémon are you expecting in the Nexii of Time and Space?
Like I said before, I want Growlithe and Seel!
Especially Seel, just for its Hydration special!

Ditto I can see happening (especially since it's such a pain to get in the fourth generation right now). However, Charizard is the final evolution of a starter Pokémon. You never know though. Let's cross our fingers.

This game actually was well designed and fun. It had completely pathethic storyline, but aside from that, it was highly enjoyable. The childish anime and many other events made the whole pokemon thing look stupid and ridiculous, but it's not that like that. I really enjoyed playing red, yellow, silver and crystal on my GBC a couple of years ago.I think the second generation games were totally the best, having two worlds to explore and quite a lot of secrets to discover. Third generation was a failure, short and annoying, I haven't played the fourth but I guess I will do it someday

anyway it hasn't been confirmed by serebii (yet?) so i don't think this is true.
but if it is, it would rock so hard!
