I haven't been able to read the entire thread yet; in fact not even the first page, but ...

Genielord, just because Baklava has a good reputation, it doesn't make him exempt from the Coc. I know Bak hasn't done anything wrong, but I think that what you are trying to say is wrong or you are saying it the wrong way.
The CoC applies to EVERYONE who does something wrong, even if a moderator goes beyond the CoC then his/her modship is on the line. Even some of the members who have the highest QP amounts have gotten penalties. So you see, just because you might be a good member and all, that doesn't exclude you from getting a penalty. It applies to everyone who goes beyond the rules of the CoC.
Sorry for the off-topic post, but I just felt I needed to say something.

Cause you can't add "new" as a prefix to an entire country.
Now, don't ask me why, but the fact is that no country has ever been called "New" something.
There's Great Britain, North Dacota, South Korea, but there is no "New" anywhere. Probably cause "New" isn't a geographical term.
FYROM is an extremely fragile country, and I think we should rather lend it a helping hand instead of everyone laying claims on it. But that's just some hippie opinion of mine

"New" refers to a colony or a town found by colonists..
So it won't do.

You didn't get the point.
I agree that the CoC applies to everyone. But if for example FOG says "everyone here is insane!" would he get penalty? The CoC applies to him, too, but he has built a positive reputation that makes people to see this in a different way. People wouldn't take it as a personal insult if it came from FOG.
This is just an example, BTW, I didn't mean to anything that FOG ever said.
I don't know enough about this subject to give any opinion, but I heard that the area was called Vardarska before the second world war. Why not to call it this way again?

Yes, he probably would get a penalty. Anybody that breaks a rule will get a warning and then a penalty. Doesn't matter if they have built a reputation or not, it applies to everyone regardless.
Let's get back to the topic though

@Angelito yeah New Macedonia is something that gives a fair i thnk opinion. But F.Y.R.O.M doesn't want it.It rejects it till now like all other names.
F.Y.R.O.M wants its' constitutional name to every worldwide organization and for all countries and wants another name just only for Greece.
The double name here in Greece isn't even discussed. One name for all with geographical qualifier.Or at least "New"
Now their nationalistic policy as we saw, gave them a Big veto.A veto to join Nato.A country that if would have joined nato it would be one of their greatest success.
Now what is what their nationalism gave them and now this situation just -not to forget- is a result of our Nationalism, greek nationalism in 1993 who we reject all the names that include the name "Macedonia" even with geographical qualifiers. To achieve after 15 years what?To "beg" them to have this name with a geographical qualifier?
So solution now.
Ah and Genielord yeah the name of the area is really Vardarska in all the "old" maps. But how possible is to make them to call their country Vardarska and them Vardarians? It reminds me of Barbarians!F.Y.R.O.M is way better

As for the "New Macedonia", why add "new" in (part of) the same area? It doesn't make much sense to me. New York is a city in a geographic location different from York, and so on for the rest. But in this case we are talking about the location of a part of the known "Macedonia". So there is nothing "new" about the area. It is part of the entire area. I don't think either side will be happy with the term new.

From as i know i think "new" is acceptable from Greek side.
At least "New" makes it clear that has nothing to do historically at least, to Macedonia.
But i prefer something like Upper Macedonia or Northern Macedonia or Slavomacedonia(!)

yes it is acceptable at "country" level. Is it acceptable to you? what I am saying is that "new" is vague and does not make much sense for the same area. In any case, Skopje do not accept "new", so ... we turn back to "potato"
Obviously I prefer "new macedonia" vs "macedonia" ...

It's acceptable to me as long as it's the best solution. And me obviously i prefer Northern macedonia" than new and Vardaska than "any" macedonia. But the point is how realistic is each name?I want to believe that a name with geographic qualifier is a realistic solution.

It isn't important who will say such things, but
1. How is it meant?
2. Did the "author" got warned before about his behaviour?
If Fog (or for example baklava) says "You all are insane", he most probably would add some kind of smiley. If he didn't, he would get a HCM from a mod and asked for editing his post. Second time, he will be warned in public. Third time, he will get penalized.
And exactly this is the way Vidoja was treaten. He reached 3rd step yesterday.
But please, this should be the last post about that issue. Any further things should be mentioned in the feedback thread of OSM.
