Lets make HC map!
+ us as heroes
+ will contain HC's famous places - Volcanic Wastelends, Dimensional Gates etc
+ with campaagn-like story
+ the best would be NCF based

Excellent Idea!
One huge problem though. Do you have enough time and energy to tackle such huge modification like project? Just asking, as usual.
Besides, you'd better ask the Community of this site for their overall approval via a Poll Topic Thread about using their own, personal profiles for this project of yours.

Hmm. Lets see, I would be a dungeon hero, with a choatic specialty, something like spellflux that causes damage to either increase or decrease  . Higher levels the more increase and less decrease. I do love the idea tho. Would require a LOT of work.

That sounds so cool! 
1. Temple of Ashan can be a big Haven town (although it could be good to keep the Haven for the MapHaven Guild). I guess we can make the MapHaven Guild that building where you build boats, and a cartographer next to it.
2. The Altar can be an Academy not far from the Temple
3. The VW is an area of lava terrain, with 3 small inferno villages, but many neutral dangerous creatures. There are spots that if you walk on you are ambushed by Inferno armies.
4. The Tavern should be quite close to the VA. It is simply a Tavern on the adventure map, where you can recuit heroes, but when you get close to it, people talk to you (give you missions). They tell you how it's being attacked by the mosters of the VW, and give you missions in the VW (like killing certain people, capturing one of the camps (the Infernoes), etc).
5. Mod Squad HQ is a Sylvan (You know, it's a "Peacekeeping center" after all... ).
6. The Glade can be a second Sylvan, but much weaker than the Mod Squad HQ.
7. The Other Side of the Monitor is for sure a Stronghold. Its members are raging Orcs, who fight with the world and with themselves all the time. They are against everyone. 
8. Dimension Gates is a small abandoned Dungeon, far away from the big cities.
Heroes
I think we should have 2 heroes for every town. And first, let's make sure that everyone who participated in the project recieves a hero (that will incourage more people to help and will keep everyone here satisfied). Later, if we get empty slots, we can fill them with other members. What do you think?
Radar, you can be a Knight in the Temple (it can be better if we make a sort of Workshop).
Mytical, what about you as a Glade hero?
I'll be a Genie hero in the Altar (Academy).
And LucJPatenaude, wanna be an academy hero, too?

I considered H4 as well, since H4 has the best map editor ever... and the only I'm experienced in

Radar, it has to be H5. Nobody here will play it if it's a H4 map, and the forum is much more about H5 than about H4.

Great idea.
If someone did the map to H5 I could make a map for H3 but sadly I haven't learned ERM so now WoG versions.
It would be great if we got someone who nows ERM to make the map till WoG.

Not so bad, not so bad. I like the idea so far, except that you want it to be HoM&M4. But you know, one of the things i like most of all is to learn to use the map editor, so i and del_diablo could try to make the map. Btw GeenieLord, i think everyones respectable wishes for hero should be used, so Mytical would be dungeon hero. Myself? I would like to be an Academy hero even thou i hate magic heroes, i am more or less fitted to be magic instead of might when i look at my real self.

Okay, no problem. 
I just want everyone to patricipate, it won't be good if two members do the entire work.

I'd like to mention that we can't make heroes for everyone.
I think if you want to be a hero, ok, tells us, but remember that old and esteemed HC members have their privilleges.

Dibbs on a Glade hero, and I can do some low-level modding and map making as well. Will it be all one map, or several? It think perhaps 3, one for the Heroes Forums, one for the Off-Topic forums, and one for the other forums.

Awesome idea, would be absolutely awesome to have that. One thing though I wouldn't let people ask to become heros. Just chose the ones you deem "important" (it's the wrong word) enough because I'm sure you'll have quite a lot of people asking.
Hope you have the energy to pull this off.

Great idea, trulysaying I've seen such projects to be quite funny - precisely in Winds of Thorn and some old mod to Baldur's Gate.
