Quote: Ohh... And have you ever think about it, that she is the only hero in the game, who can boost the stats of a fifth level creature...?
She is not. Gorshak boosts Slayer stats and Erling boosts Rune Priest stats.
Anyway, cool thread

Fauch: you have to put the replay in documents/my games/HOMMVToE/Profiles/your profile/replays
I wanted to choose unicorns as favored enemy, but I didn't find any in the map... I play since more than a year maybe. How good I'm? It's relative, but let's say I'm a bit better than the average players. At least a bit better.
And about Ylthin:
I forgot the 2 add on factions. I didn't played them much. ^^'

Imbue Ballista and Triple Ballista is overkill, any Ranger who is lucky enough to get it is one step ahead of his enemy.
Killing the Ballista fast is not that easy without Cold Death.
Vinrael wasn't so lucky.

Now.
Vayshan VS Yrwanna
In the beginning I wanted to teach summoning magic to Vayshan, since he starts with fire trap. So I choose dead man's curse, because warlock's luck doesn't work with most of the summoning magics. However, summoning magic wasn't offered in time and I needed some magic school to beat up the neutrals. After that he got light magic from witch hut, but he was able to learn mass righteous might and refined mana. Both were very useful.
Yrwanna learned light magic too from a witch hut. Had expert summoning magic, but wasn't able to learn empathy. The right skills wasn't offered, so she just skipped every level up with upgrading basic skills to expert. Leadership was great boost to her furies.
Yrwanna missed empathy very much in the last battle. Since summoning magic spells are not direct damage dealers, there wasn't enough time to take a really good use of it. In the first round, Yrwanna summoned phoenix, than elementals, of course, the most useless elemental showed up always: earth elementals. In the second round, she set up some bee hive, but the damage of the bee swarm is still very, very, VERY low... Vayshan's fire balls with Ignite and phoenix cape killed Yrwanna's troop's.
Yrbeth VS Lethos
Yrbeth didn't have any dark magic spell. ^^ She should have at least one dark starting spell. She learned seal of darkness and shrug darkness to weaken Lethos' dark magics at least. I don't want to say anything about her special, but I'll tell you, that it gave only +32 mana at level 16. Maybe it's useful when she has any spell to cast, but now, it was totally useless.
Lethos ruled the map with mass decoy, mass confusion and sorrow. He had a "three times self-damaging bonus": decoy -> assassin's poison -> corrupted soil. I was fun to see how the enemy dies before it even moves. Sorrow made it even better, because enemies who skip their turn because of bad morale, are still hurt by decoy. Very nice.
In the final fight, Yrbeth casted only ice bolt after the mass haste spell. She couldn't really do anything. The ring of saar-issur negated the effect of the seal of darkness, so Lethos could cast much more spells. Download the replay, if you want to see, the "three times self-damaging bonus".
Sinitar VS Eruina
The way to the warlock's secret tech is very useful. We can say that this is the best winning strategy to the victory for warlocks. Sinitar needed only 4 level ups to get the secret tech. Even the with hut helped him and gave him sorcery. His special is great. It makes magic casting endless.
Oh, my lovely Eruina... I gave her master of storms, because she starts with lighting bolt, and after that sap magic. 20% magic damage reduction is great, especially is you are playing against Sinitar. Archery boosted her matriarchs and her ballista. In the late game she learned war machines to do some nasty damage with flaming arrows, but she couldn't learn the ballista skill.
The Staff of the Netherworld was a great bonus for Sinitar. He didn't had implosion and meteor swarm, but he had enough time to kill everyone with circle of Winter. I don't remember exactly but I think, that Eruina's bonus only triggered once or twice, but her implosion spell dealt 900 damage. Since she had only 100 mana she run out if and lost...
Kythra VS Sorgal
The second summoner in the game was Kythra. She summoned about 50 fire elemental, but it was amazing to see, how slow they are when they are fighting in your side. She learned basic defense from a witch. It could have very useful, but I visited the hut before the last fight.
Sorgal was unstoppable. Expert attack and cold steel gave him an extra +25% damage. Leadership and destructive magic were a very good choose too. His special isn't that good, but it can come in handy during the creeping. (Standing next to the enemy and hitting only with furies.) I don't know how much stronger they were, but you can notice the difference.
A warlock without destructive magic is as good as death. The second summoning warlock VS des. war. battle proved it. Summoning magic is just too slow against warlocks. If you see the replay you will understand why. Warlock's racial skill should be changed to destructive magic itself...

Okay then:
Nur vs Faiz
Faiz has a solid and usefull speciality. (Dark Magic + Mass vulnerability) and starting skills. He, however needs a lot of knowledge to win the battle. Nur on the other hand, regenrates mana during combat. And she has Sorcery, which is most usefull with mages. If she wants to beat Faiz she should have a lot of Spellpower, rather than knowledge.
I suggest that Nur gets Enlightement and either Destructive or Light
I suggest Faiz gets Sorcery and Light, as a nice addition to his Dark magic skills. Destructive would work as well.
I think Nur will win this, by simply outcasting Faiz.
Havez vs Nathir
The four strongest Wizards are facing eachother, including Nathir and Havez. I like Nathirs special: Destructive + master of Fire + Fireball Is like a mini-armageddon. He does need a lot of spellpower in order to maximise his fire magic skills. Havez on the other hand, specialises in Gremlins, which is a major headstart in early-game, + War Machines. Nathir must eliminate Havez balista or he's toast (other wise Havez's Gremlins are toasted )
I suggest that Havez should learn: Attack (archery, Flaming Arrows) and Light to support his gremlins. Defence would be nice as well.
Nathir should learn at least one magic school (Here light seems the best as well) and Defence. Sorcery is usefull here as well.
I think Havez will win, if Nathir doesn't destroy his ballista quickly. Havez
Razzak vs Narxes
Hmm difficult one. Narxes starts with a mage, which helps early game, but it is only a slight advantage (if you encounter Sprites or Hunters, the mage will fall). Sorcery is a usefull skill to start with, as is arcane training. Razzak is better early game, strong golems, but a bit slow. He starts with Defence and Virtality, maximising sturdiness even further.
I suggest Razzak learns Light (mass haste) and Leadership (artificial Glory). Logistics (march of the Golems) is usefull, but destructive is a key to winn if he has magnetic Golems.
Narxes should concentrate on blocking Razzaks magic. Shrug light (if I remember it well, it is achieved in light and Master of Abjuration) is a top priority. So I say light, Summoning (fist of Wrath, Arcane armor, Blade Barrier)) and maybe War Machines. Hire Gremlin Saboteurs and avoid destructive)
My verdict: Narxes can win ,if he has shrug light, Gremlin saboteurs and expert Fist of Wrath.
Jhora and Galib two powerfull wizards, the best two IMHO
Jhora doesn't have an easy opponent in overpowerd Galib; Her speciality is an advantage in early Gamre and should be exploited carefully to by-pass Galibs Speciality. Galib is IMHO the best hero in end-game. He starts wiith luck always usefull.
I suggest Jhora takes enlightement (and intelligence) so she can cast many spells in the oncoming battle. Destructive is nice, as is Light. Luck (+ resistance) can be used to partially avoid mirroring. Be carefull with destructive. To be safe from mirroring use Stone Spike, Circle of Winter or Fireball instead of Eldritch arrow and Icebolt. Jhora should avoid Dark at all costs.
Galib however is free to take whatever he likes. To counteract Jhoras speciality, he can learn Sorcery, and leadership (so his units can attack more often) I also suggest Summoning.
In the end Galib will win
So my verdict is: Nur, Galib, Narxes and Havez
