New town idea: The Abyss!
So far I've been thinking of a dark-elf town, a darker version of the preserve. Here are the list of the creatures:
Level 1: Kobold/Giant Spider
Level 2: Dark Elf/ Ooze
Level 3: Shade/Ent(an evil dendroid)
Level 4: Wyvern/ Horror
The Ooze(a walking green slime) is a very unique creature with an ability to receive 50% damage from melee and 200% damage from spells.
The Horror is a mass of nightmarish cloud(with two glimmering red eyes) with the "fear" ability just like Azure dragon's.
This town has dark nature magic, which might be similar but darker to preserve's.
The heroes of this town are Stalker(might) and Darklord(magic)
I know it's kinda late now to send this kind of ideas...but who knows if they can used this town for the expansion pack...heheh.
How's my idea?

I like some of your ideas.
the giant spider sounds good. It could fire a jet of webs at it opponents rooting them to the spot. If attack at close range then a 40% chance of infect them with venom.
Dark Elf is good. The opposite of the Elf but fires three times.
Shade is good as well this creature could cause fear and reduce the enemey hit points by half.
Wveryn would be nice to see back. Fly and cause poison with its stinger.
I also love the Stalker and the Darklord heroes. Very cool indeed.
These ideas i love but i am not to sure about the other creatures. But hey that it my opinion. So well done.

What is Kobold?
Your town is good, but if Giant spiders would have good abilities why make 'em 1st level, what about fourth?

yeah, many ppl have the temptation to create slime creatures. i just hope it would not look like the venom spawn. if you meant a creature like that i have nothing else to do than advise you to play diablo until you get sick of them, and then reconsider.
well, there is a possibility to create a slime creature that would look strong, agile and deadly. e.g. with a half-translucent black jelly like body with shape sth like the homm3 fire elemental (with more tense and flexible muscles, and walking, af course), covered with a dripping layer of traslucent green slime that glitters in the sunshine (well, moonlight rather, i guess, but i'm afraid there's no moonlight on the battle screen). well, i would probably think it would be an ok creature on it's own, but not in homm. has anyone seen any medieval picture of anything like a slime creature? i have seen none, and i think that the idea of slime creatures just didn't suit the medieval way of thinking.

i really like spider ideas.. but i think a spider should not be shooter, at least what concerns web and poison. actually, spiders can't see very well, btw..
some high level arachne with the ability to bind opponents with webs that would massively slow down opponents for a few rounds and maybe have the effect of half or no damage (or at least no retaliaition) while webbed, and having the long-term effect of poison. maybe the web could be a spell, but it should affect adjacent units only. maybe it could even be an area spell that way, sth like meteor shower or fireball in homm3, but it could only be casted so that the area is adjacent to the spider.
actually, with the combat system of homm4, the spider would look quite spider-like if it had a spell that would elliminate retaliation from a creature for a while.

I should be very happy that you have given the Wyvern level 4... But this town sounds a bit strange. The Horror is very unclear creature and there is already a Nightmare... What next? The Ent is a good idea because this way the Dendroid will return.
It's good to make towns, the bad thing is that they will probably not be considered... I can create many towns with the Wyvern as level 4 but none of them will appear in the game...

Before a few weeks I have too an idia of town named Abyss.
A city of darkness and terror, a city of might not magic.
Look at the wandering horrors in this underground city:
gargoyle / wraith
crucitaur / night hunter
path master / black lord
wyvern / mind flayer
Once during a battle with 10 % chance to happen the Wraiths have the Death Touch attack, they do maximum damage and with their strike they turn the killed units into Wraiths.
The Crucitaurs are the snipers of this town. These Abyss demons can do freezing damage and slow the target.
The Night hunter is a dark elf with robe and scytche. They are surrounded by 4 illusion immages which must be destroyed first. They also do bleeding damage for 1 round.
The Path master can summon dark allias to fight. These are the Giant spider with poison or web attack (2 level). The Salamander who can strike twice with his giant halberd(2 level). The Lost soul who can lower the morale and also can cast some offensive spells(3 level). The Werewolf who is level 3 warrior and also has Horror howl. Everyone who hear the horror howl (in some distance from the werewolf) freezes in fear for one round or goes berserk. The Path master is in passive state for 1 or 2 round after the summoning.
The Black Lord can curse and also do cripple attack lowering the damage of the target.
The Wyvern poisons her victums and they lose HP every round(as in Hmm3)
The Mynd Flayer has Psionic and domination spells. He can hold enemies, cast berserk, or even take full control of them.
All of the Abyss armies have Mind Immunity, are unaffected by the moral, but they all have the Bloodlust speciality (as +1 moral but cannot be lower or higher). The town has no Mage guild but the special abilities of the Abyss dwelers are strong enough. There is also a Breeding Pit in the Abyss.
