How hard would it be to recode the Heroes IV editor to use .h3m files, HoMM3 dlls and such? An impossible task I guess?

and by your logic it wouldn't be easier to do it with a Homm3 editor -_- but rather use the homm4 one?

Seeing as they do want their new editor to be more advanced and considering the problems with limited heroes and castles, yeah. Kuksugare

This looks really good and the idea of having a new town (or towns in the future) without giving away one is great. Town looks great both on map and from the inside.
when it comes to creatures, i think there are some flaws though. at this stage of the progress it may be in vain to point them out, but here i go:
- as pointed out before, lizards (lvl 6) are misfits. they look more like a fortress creature than a shore creature.
- level 3 and level 5 creatures look too much alike before the upgrade (obviously same template) and after the upgrade the level 5 magician looks too medieval for the pirate theme. a gypsy themed magician may solve both problems, maybe a woman like the black one in the second pirates of the caribbean movie.
btw, the main download link in this thread is outdated. in the posts, there is a buried link to a newer version (v1.1).

I double artu's opinion, couldn't agree more. Lizards are misfits because there are several other cool sea creatures.

While I agree with the sentiment myself... I would be furious if they decided to change it, postponing the english release I been pining for for awhile.

I don't think they will anyway. They have made way too much progress to change such things.

And I multiply Artu's and hallom's opinion by zero. Croco dudes still fit more within their faction than most of the Tower creatures fit in their. They're fine, don't touch them.

I just wanted to mention and honor the fact that the HotA team have done so well to keep it true to the original and beautiful aesthetics of Heroes 3. I hope we will see more landscape objects of this quality which will add more diversity to the already beautiful environment.
I also hope HotA will continue to add water-based counterparts to objects that only feature on land. I love the fact that they are making the game more water friendly.
I have suggestions below for various new water objects:
Whether they are useful or not is up to every individual. They are merely suggestions. I hope HotA team reads this.
Water-based border gate (much like the garrison HotA added)
More water-based monolith two-ways (in different colors, much like the ones on land)
Possibly even one-way monolith entrances
A subterranean gate
Chunks of ice similar to reef (just a cool addition)
A bigger variation of kelp and other water vegetation
Bigger reef rocks with shape similar to that of a mountain
Fog
...etc etc. You get my point.
I hope you will take this to account in order to make the water terrain more useable and possibly adding a lot more fun to maps that are largely covered with water.

Icebergs, like "water mountains"? That would be pretty cool...
Maybe it shouldn't be "What would I want for christmas" thread, yet I think some "add 1 point to some skill" or "add some experience" objects on water (with original names) would be very nice. But I'm not really sure if that's priority for the next HotA version, so whatever - let the great work be continued.

Yes, that's what I mean. It would be cool, right?
I agree. HotA probably have their own ideas about what they're going to implement in the next version but we are merely suggesting things.
