@Royal Armor of Nix
It's lovely to look at. It has a special retro look. The art style reminds me of a clay animation for children with a retro/futuristic car, I cannot remember the name. Oh, well. I like it.

Just a quick question. Since a translation, well, may never come, I wonder, can you actually play the game in Russian?
I don't know a single word, but it seems like the lot of you still play it.

Why not? It's quite playable in Russian, even if you're non-Russian. If you know SoD, you'll know much without the text in English, anyhow. It's not all understandable, but it's playable, sure. Random maps, anyhow. But why ask and not just try it out?
You can translate the the HotA change log for more info about changes/new stuff, too.

Of course you can play it in Russian even if you don't know a single word in russian, if you know the game in english pretty well of coarse. You may even learn a few russian words from there if you know how to read, heroes russian words =P

I haven't tried the russian version since I'm patiently waiting for an English release, but if you are here you should know very well what each buttom of the game do
You may not know what the sign says, but recruiting creatures, building in towns and attacking enemies surely isn't difficult.

Thanks.
Well ofcourse its simple enough to install and try, but thought it may be hard to uninstall?? Well, suppose its just a clean install if so...
Sure I know the basics and such. Played for years and years, but thinking about new artifacts and such. I might be silly right now, but it seems a bit nonsense to find a new item, and you dont know what it does?? But hey, been looking forward to Hota for years now. What the heck, I give it a try.
Random maps of course....
Do I have to use Russian installer or can I use English??

That's true, but you can check some of the new stuff of HotA in english at Acid Cave English HotA section. That may help

Okey, I'm soooo obviously doing something terribly wrong here :-D
Downloaded the .exe and installed. Now I start with HotA.exe, and sure enough it's Russian alright. A few clicks and I cant see the "Random map" button. However, I have a few selectable maps called "HotA random map 1-9" . Took one of these and started.
Everything is in English, except the new creatures. The pirates is spelled in Russian letters. Been exploring a bit of the map, but there are no new artifact, or buildings. Even built the artifact mercant, but to no avail. Try explore a bit more, and maybe they show up.
New town works fine.
How do I make a random map?? I know its in the thread somewhere, but cant seem to find it. Just tell me where and I can look from there...

Pendant of Downfall. Not a final version of the model, a final design of this artifact will be slightly different with a high probability.
P.S. Please note that now we are publishing renders in the .png format on sites other than vk.com. If you want more quality version of images published in the official group project for the site or any other platform, you can always make a request to the team.

In similar way to Sir Mullich and Lord Haart, several heroes which would be useless on most of the maps will be able to be switched for new ones. E.g., Voy with specialty in Navigation on most maps without water would be changed for Kinkeria - the new Witch.
Kinkeria was one of the most respected witches of her tribe. She always seeks for knowledge, and it's easy for her to comprehend the essence of any phenomena. She's been given such tasks over which many wisemen puzzled for years.
No wonder she quickly started to serve Tatalia.
According to Vade Parvis though, if I get it right, we won't see it in the very next version, but rather in the future.

The whole idea is stoopid. These heroes are to make game less predictable: you can get useless hero or get cool spec hero.
Seems after 1-2 releases HOTa will became WOG.

Okay then, I wasn't sure.
Macron1 said: These heroes are to make game less predictable: you can get useless hero or get cool spec hero.
When there's no water you won't choose someone with specialty in navigation anyway. Not that big deal really, and a new non-OP hero is always a pretty nice feature. About random heroes - is that really a good balance when there are two heroes who are either pretty neat or just worthless? I don't think so.
Even though it's not that big deal, I still like it. Although I'd rather see Voy with a better portrait.
BTW, I thought you don't give a monkey's about balance, Macron. What happened?

Whoa, what is that ? It's the Hero profile ? (when you check your hero in game - artifacts, army, sec. and prim. abilities) Don't know how is that screen named.
As for the hero, it's kinda nice, so that you won't end up with navigation hero in no-water random map.
What's the deal with some people around here tho ? F.e. Macron.
