Poll Question: Poll: Expert Haste vs. Expert Slow
So... Which spell do you prefer at expert level in a big battle (classic 7 stack army from one town).
I prefer Haste, cause if your units are too slow to attack in 1st turn and your enemy has lots of shooters Haste is better.

I prefer slow
But if there are many shooters I would rather used haste I guess.

It depends what cities are taking part in that combat.
If I would be a town with powerful shooters, like Tower, I'll chose Expert slow. If I'll play with Stronghold, I'll prefer Expert Haste, no doubt.

Depending on my hero, I might choose slow if I had a good spellcaster.
Then again, casting slow on all the enemy units is easier said than done, they could have magic resistance from the hero or artifacts as I discovered in my campaign with gelu
Overall I think its a safer bet to cast haste on your own troops than risk failing slow on some of the enemy troups.

Almost all the time haste prevails over slow. In final battle most of the cases its more efficient. If fighting against the map slow is better 90% of the times.

Zanmato - the question is about the spell in final battle against other human player. I guess you never played against real person, because you will get really surpised when in opposite to your slow the opponent cast expert haste and massacre you

Use different strategy when against human player. It depends on the quality of his air magic. Remember, that was a personal opinion. I think slow is a way much funnier then haste

I would say at least 80% of the time the player who has BOTH spells on expert level available will win the game..

Voted Haste. Although if I was defending a siege... I would definitely choose slow.

Even in siege i will prefer haste. If your opponent have haste he can use the tactic - hit with fast units and return out of reach from your troops. If you have haste you can do the same, actually negate his haste.
Slow is not that important, since most of his troops will be walkers and only few will get over the walls.
So even defending in siege i will go for haste if i must choose only one skill.

Everything can be usefull, if you start a siege and managed to take down the gate and its your turn and ALOT of units ready to move it can be neat with haste.
Or your opponent just hasted with at his first creeps turn but you still got the 2nd fastest creep and uses slow to counter
And soo on, on a siege with alot of flyers haste is a need. If your however with alot of shooters mass bless or mass prayer is favorable too along with mass slow.

I choose slow to give my shooters a few more shots before the creatures that can get across the wall get in

Both good, but I think haste is better, for the simple fact that u don't have to worry about things such as resistance, wich for towns such as Rampart, is a forte.

We are talking about main fight between 2 human players. if you cast slow it will be negated by expert haste. If you wait - the opponent will cast haste and there will be no much sence of your shooters.
90% of the games haste is decisive, slow is second in preferences.

Hmmm...the poll started with the idea of "big battles" not main fight between 2 human players (final fight or more than 1 final fight). I guess big battles means against AI so as to reach your opponent in the end. In my opinion, i say again, slow is better than haste referring to battles against AI. 90% of game big battles mean fighting guards not human player
Cheers
