Census. Best MMORPG
I'm lookin to change my mind and not get MxO (matrix)
I quit runescape with a $500 equivalent account.
What are your views on MMORPGS that are pay to play, that are really good???
Are there any Free to play ones that actualy beat P2p????

I highly recommend [url=http://www.dofus.com/en]Dofus[/url]. The battles play out like a TRPG. It has free areas or you can subscribe. This is the only MMORPG (other than the text based [url=http://www.play.net/gs4/]Gemstone[/url] and [url=http://www.play.net/dr/]Dragonrealms[/url]) that I've actually enjoyed and played for any great length.

If you don't pay you are limited to one town and its environs. That's it. It can get old, staying in the one town, though.

I think I'd be more willing to join Dofus if there were simply a couple more features for free. I don't feel like spending money on the game without knowing having more of an idea of what the game will be like.

I definitely recommend Nodiatis. 
With a free account, you're blocked from trading/auctioning and one or two other things, but it's pretty enjoyable anyway. 
A few other HC members are playing it as well (I'll let them tell you themselves if they wish to.  )
NOTE: The above has been written by someone who refuses to pay a subscription fee to anyone for any MMO game...yet, he is considering it, because he wants to join the in-game economy.

I recommend you guildwars... is not free but you dont have to pay every month you buy it and you can play all you want... for me is the best mmorpg without montly fee... beautiful graphics, great gameplay, great pvp modes and a lot of things to do on pve... very balanced... and most important is not level based... I mean you level up... but the better players are actually the ones who plays best... not the ones who have best gear or have higher level...

im pretty much against paying mmo rpg,or paying for games at all however there are meny freeware or private severs as well..
Private wow severs,will give u free gaming,so does private lineage and everquest thought,i have never found a 'privete' everquest virson.
Gunzonline,silkroad online,rekion,knights online,mu online,vanguard is suppost to be great i wish i could attempted it.
and meny more.
