Best Animated Spell in Heroes I, II & III
Now theHydra has put a post for Heroes IV spells so i decided to make a new thread that would follow up from my last thread. This was the best looaking and cool animated creature.
This one will be on the Spell animation for the last thress games. Which spell do you like seen in action, what is cool about it.
I have a couple and these are
Magic Arrow: I like this bolt of energy being thrown by the caster and love watching as it flies across the screen like a comet or shooting star. And when it hits the enemy it explodes and shards of light surround them. Especially when they die. Never used to appreciate it until now.
Magic Mirror: This is way cool when it works. A shield appears on your creatures followed by a beam of light bouncing of it with a unsual sound. It adds a bit more exciting to the battle when the enemy cast a spell at your creature only to watch it bounce off and hit his/her own creature. My only grip is the enemy does see you casting it, it should be hidden in battle.
Force Field: I did not know ehat this was for at the start but once i found out its true meaning, oh boy was i very pleased. The way a shield of blue and white swirling ripples appears either in ones or twos is truly beautiful.
These are but a few that i like. So if anyone have a favoutire animated spell feel free to say so.

I think the resurrection spell has a great animation. I have liked it ever since homm2. Armaggeddon in homm2 is also a very "beatiful" spell, and the sound, the sound is truly amazing. You can nearly hear the earth shake.
But the number one on my list of cool animated spells is:
DRAGON SLAYER. The great shield cut in half by a sword is really great. And the sound accompanying it is also very well done.

If you liked Magic Arrow, I wonder why you don't like Chain Lightning? What I found really good about the animation on that was the way the lightning jumped from one unit to the other and not until the last unit was struck did the shower and spark show erupt. BOOM. All at once!
It was very difficult after the showers and all to figure out exactly how many creatures you'd lost after that one...

Ok, call me strange, but I like mass dispell about the best, with frost ring a close second. My absolute favourite would have to be mass dispell when fighting against a tower town, the landmines detonating is pretty cool.
As far as sounds, I always seem to be playing with the sound off so I don't wake anyone up. And yes, I know, I am missing some great stuff here.

Counterstrike, Dragon Slayer, Magic Mirror, Frenzy.
All this spells, although not used so often, have great animations.

chain lightning has balls, you can almost feel it. Sacrifice is super cool, with the little flaming symbol. Prayer I also like.

Thanks for the input guys. I do agre with most of you in order of spell mentioned.
Hexa: I never used sacridiced before so i will have to see this animation in use.
Gravdragon: Resurrection spell is good and i like they way the rise from the ground. Slayer spell on the other hand is superb in every detail; The shield and the sword and the sound is makes.
Shae: chain lighting is a powerful spell but it happens far too quickly for you to catch the animation, but the effect it causes is pure awesome.
Tristan: I like mass dispel as well the way is displays on teh screen is really cool it is like a big flash rightin your face. Very useful although i have never seen it dispel the mines in the Tower. Does this happen in SOD or ROE and AB?
Svetac: counterstrike is nice with the sword linking to each other and then spinning round. Frenzy is also a good looking animation although the only time i cast it is when using a master genie.
Zsa: Like before with shae for chain but lighting has the same effect as being too quick.
Rychenroller: Prayer is very impressive with a shaft/s of holy light descending on your troops in battle, and its effect on your troops is even better. I like the yellow sunlight and the twinking of stars around the troops.
Undead_Knight: Implosion spell is very unsually. Green blobbly stuff that bubbles and makes also a bubbling sound as it engulfs a creature. Sometimes it looks like a swampy monster covering the enemy. But very nice if weird.
Other spells i like is haste, a fast cyclone the spins and then disspears is nice.
Blind in Heroes II and III is very good. In Heroes II I liked the way the spell actually hommed in on the creatures eyes regardless of the type and a red light appears blinding them. Heroes III was much better in animation with several bright sparkling lights dancing or spinning around the creatures followed by a rapid firing sound.
Armaggeddon spell on Heroes II was absolutely awesome. The way the ground moved followed by red covering the screen then yellow then white. There were times i though my monitor was goind to explodedbecause od this. The sound and the effect was one of the best Heroes II spells ever. Heroes III Armaggeddon spell is good but not in the same league as it predecessor.

Ya, Armaggeddon in h2 is much better than in h3.
If my memory serves right, h3 Armaggeddon has an animation effect quite similar to a h2 spell: "Elemental storm" which is also a lv4 spell. Is this just a coincidence ??

I have Heroes III complete, but the first time I noticed the mines dispelling I am pretty sure was in the AB campaign Dragon Slayer.
As far as counterstrike, I have seen it for the first time since I posted that last, and I have to admit I like the looks! Of course, as it was cast against me, I didn'r really care for the effect

Many spells have cool looks, my favorites are Prayer, Slayer, Animate Undead/Ressurect, Magic Arrow and Ice Bolt. I like ma and ice bolt over lightning because lightning always goes too fast to enjoy it. I also think Hypnotize has a cool effect also.

A few not already mentioned
A spell with a nice animation that is unfortunately pretty darn useless is Misfortune. I'd never cast it personally, but it's kinda fun to watch the luck being sucked outta things by the Armor of the Damned. Even if it doesn't really have much of an effect. 
Another nice Heroes 3 spell animation is Destroy Undead (cast at a level high enough to utterly wipe out one or more stacks.) The sight of everything turning into a little pile of dust is entertaining. (Unless you're playing Necro, and some yutz just dusted your entire army.)
On the other hand, the Heroes 2 Death Ripple, and Death Wave had a certain charm to them, as did that nasty little set of crazed eyes when Berserk was cast.

I have always enjoyed Bless simply because it can improve the damage of even low-level troops and/or with large ranges. The animation of the golden cups pouring water over the troops is quite pretty as well.

Spell in Homm2
I like berzerk, not only the animation, but it is sweet when somebody from enemies army attacks his own. Armaggedon is really hell of a shake.
