The Preserve – Gnome – Knight – Draconic – Sphinx

Faction: Preserve
Aka: The Grizzly Gnomes.
Alignment: Neutral
Motto: “Nature changes, if you give it an certain amount of time. But you can make it changes faster, if you want.”
Worship: The Tree Spirits, the Stone Spirits, the River Spirits, the Forest Sphinxes.
Colors: Gray, Dark Green.
Symbol: A climbing plant around a stone.

About the Preserve:
The Grizzly Gnomes are a curious people. As other gnomes they like philosophy and sciences, but they also have a strong connection with nature – as their neighbors, the wood elves. But differently than wood elves, they don’t adapt themselves to nature: they adapt the nature. Their buildings are an example: made by stone from near rivers, and the living tree, on their villages.



Their life style is ruled by their traditions. The most adult gnome dedicates part of day to work at his or her job (common jobs are construction, mining, engineering and hunting, for male gnomes, and cook, trader and agriculturist for females gnomes), other part to study (it’s a fact: every gnome is in a eternal search for knowledge), and an other to dedicate to his or her hobbies (as usual music or craft) – and, of course, a part of day, know as ‘night’, is used to sleep.

Their society is ruled by the Priests of Nature, the wisest among the gnomes. The Priests are the only that can speak to the Sphinxes, getting from they advices and counsels. The Sphinxes, for the gnomes, are sacred creatures, because they were made by spirits of Earth and Water.

When a gnome reaches the teenage, he or she is taken to see the Sphinx, and they say what the gnome will be: if the gnome will be an explorer and archaeologist or a carpenter.

Some gnomes are chosen to become Priests of Nature, then he or she go to a monastery, to study. The Priests believe that if they want to understand the Truth of Nature, they have to understand the nature! Then, they study from botany to astronomy.

The ‘Gnomic’ nation is divided into villages, each village is ruled by a patriarch, who usually is the eldest Priest of the village, and all patriarchs are yielding to the High Patriarch (or High Matriarch).

Story: *well… I really need to improve my English… but I fink that my text is ‘understandable’…
At begin, gnomes live separated in tree tribes, each tribe independent from others. The tribes are the Tribe of River, The Tribe of Stone and The Tribe of Forest. Their society were essentially similar to the actual. The tribes traded with the others, but didn’t exist a ‘friendship spirit’ between them.

Someday, the Lizardmen, lords of swaps, started war against the Tribe of River, fighting the gnomes for their lands. The Tribe of River suffer two great loses at the first week in war, but, when the Forest Patriarch offered help the River gnomes refused.
Furious with the refuse, the Forest Patriarch isolate his people form other tribes. The Lizardmen army advanced into the gnome territory and attacked the Tribe of Stone. If the tree tribes united their armies they are able to defeat the invaders, but, the attacked tribes don’t try to help the other, and the Forest Patriarch is angry with the other Patriarchs.
After a month in fierce and bloody war, a powerful warrior, named Mirkaied, from the Forest Tribe, opposing his Patriarch, went to war, helping the River Tribe. Mirkaied fought, but the Lizards defeat the River army, and capture Vanyygashllaia, the capitol of the River Tribe. Mirkaied return to his tribe and talk to them about a union with the other tribes. The people, knowing that will be the next to be attacked, accept his idea, and the Patriarch, after speak with the Sphinxes, agree with them.
The Tribe of Forest join the weakened Tribe of River, but isn’t enough. Mirkaied went to talk with the Stone Patriarch, and, after some negotiation, the Patriarch accepted.



The army of the three tribes marched on Vanyygashllaia, where Mirkaied become famous after defeat two powerful enemies: the Lizarmen’s commander, and a huge basilisk, who ate many gnomes before.

Gnomic Empire

Hero: Engineer
Hero Skill Ability: Engineering
Basic Engineering: Hero can repair mechanical units for 20-25p every third round of battle, cannot ressurrect creatures, number of hp repaired depends on heroes luck!
Advance Engineering:  Hero can repair mechanical units for 40-50hp every third round of battle, cannot ressurrect creatures
Expert Engineering:  Hero can repair mechanical units for 60-80hp every third round of battle, number of hp repaired depends on heroes luck!
Ultimate Engineering: Hero can repair mechanical units for 100-200hp every third round of battle, number of hp repaired depends on heroes luck!

Associated abilities:
Power engine: Once every 5th round a random mechanical creature recieves +1 speed and +1 attack.
Engineer's luck: After each battle the hero has a change to ressurect 3% of fallen mechanical units. This depends on heroes luck


Magic Schools: Elemental and Summoning

Tier 1: Bot Parabot or Surgerbot
Name: Bot
Description: Small robots made by the gnomes. These bots are actully made by the children gnomes because they are primitive and easy to make, so they cost nothing and children also use them as toys.
Ability: Rebound, Mechanical
Size: Small

Name: Parabot
Description: Parabots are also robots but they have an extra feature which include a paracsitic effect meaning it can drain a target of life. These are not used as toys for children, as they can kill kids.
Ability: Rebound, Drain Life, Mechanical
Size: Small

Name: Surgerbot
Description: Much more simular to the original bot but with an electroshock effect, when striking or striked at they unleash electric shocks. This one is also not a toy for small gnomes.
Ability: Rebound, Electroshock, Mechanical
Size: Small

Tier 2: Smoker Launcher or Flasher
Name: Smoker*
Description: Smokers are the gnomish armies worst shooters. Because of their useless aim they have been handed a smoke gun that make smoke weils all over the battlefield. Sometimes to the gnomish advantage other times not.
Ability: Smoke weil, random aim
Size: Small

Name: Launcher
Description: The better gnomes is granted the title: Launcher because they can atleast aim and hit. They have been granted a strong powerful gun with a lot of heavy gun powder that can penetrate the strongest metal.
Ability: Giant Slayer
Size: Small

Name: Flasher*
Description: Flashers is mostly used by the great tactic gnomes that wishes to plan their every move. Flashers uses a material that blinds the enemy to disorientate them, this makes them great for tactical battle
Ability: Flashbang
Size: Small

Tier 3: Stone Golem Steel Golem or Chrome Golem
Name: Stone Golem
Description: Chupped out of the rocky mountains of the north. Cheap and not high valued in the gnomish army. They are strong and sturdy but mostly used as defensive units.
Ability: Double retaliation, Mechanical
Size: Small

Name: Steel Golem
Description: Forged out of the hardest steel that the gnomes can by from the neighbour dwarves. The gnomes have a lot of these steel golems in their cities as they are very good defensive units.
Ability: Unlimited Retaliation, Magic resistance(25%), Mechanical
Size: Small

Name: Chrome Golem
Description: Chrome is nothing rare within the gnomish army, they use it a lot for its good anti magic abilities. Chrome Golems are used to more offensive types of battle.
Ability: Double Retaliation, Magic Resistance (50%), Mechanical
Size: Small

Tier 4: Ray Flayer or Snowray
Name: Ray
Description: These are magneficent flying beasts of the cold north. They are a mix between giant birds and some sort of Wyvern ancientetors. Their origin is unknown but somehow the Gnomes learned to control them!
Ability: Ripfang
Size: Large

Name: Flayer
Description: Larger and more furious then the rays. These are known to kill yetis by ripping open their ripcage on only a few strikes. It is unknown how the small gnomes control them, it is said that they shock they to control them but those are just rumours!
Ability: Ripfang, Eviserate
Size: Large

Name: Snowray
Description: These are harnessed against the cold weather of the north and is the ultimate transportation for the gnomes. They have a high cold resistance and a freezing bite.
Ability: Ripfang, Freezing Bite
Size: Large

Tier 5: Bronzenic Chromonic or Golnic  
Name: Bronzenic
Description: Bronzenic is the lower ranked units of a secret guild of dragonic knights that have sought refuge within the ranks of the gnomes. They wield powerful dragon power and the body of a human.
Ability: Dragon Blade
Size: Small

Name: Chromenic
Description: The Chromenic is a higher ranked knight with the special chrome armor made by the gnomes as a gift to the knights for great assistance in battle. Chromenic is masters of magic and countering it.
Ability: Magic Resistance (50%), Spellcaster: (Dragon rage, Icebolt)
Size: Large

Name: Golnic
Description: Armoured in shiny gold and wielding the golden blades of dragon fire makes the Golnics are strong fighters. Golnic is said to have been blessed by the dragons of the world and this places fear in the enemies soul!
Ability: Dragon Blade, Dragon fire
Size: Small

Tier 6: Walker Winter Guardian or Borean Lord
Name: Walker
Description: The walkers are large machines that were designed to walk around in the snowy lands to gather lumber and other heavy material that the gnomes cannot carry on their own.
Ability: Smash, Mechanical
Size: Large

Name: Winter Guardian
Description: Winter guardians are special war machines designed for battles against multiple enemies. The gnomes wielding it are specially trained to these large battles and keeping the overview making them a good tactical choice for huge fights!
Ability: Smash, Winterblow, Mechanical
Size: Large

Name: Borean Lord
Description: The frame for the Borean Lords are reinforced with frost so whenever the Borean Lord recieves a hit the enemy gets struck by frost. When ever the Borean Lords are caught in a battle in the snowy fields they are even more dangerous because of their frost skills!
Ability: Frost armor, Frost Blow, Mechanical
Size: Large

Tier 7: Meggodrake Titandrake or Steeldrake
Name: Meggodrake
Description: The pride of the Gnomes! A mechanical dragon made by only the finest material that can be found in the mountains. They are solid and rather fast! A fantastic offensive machine
Ability: Mechanical, Cleave
Size: Large

Name: Titandrake
Description: Many think they are named after titans but they are just made out of a very strong titanium found in a special part of the gnomish empire, it has been magical infused with powerful magic.
Ability: Mechanical, Cold aura
Size: Large

Name: Steeldrake
Description: The Steeldrake is heavier and slower but a lot stronger in the construcktion. The Gnomes uses this for stronger enemies with a lot of defense because the steeldrakes are some of the only units who can break through the defenses!
Ability: Mechanical, Cleave, Crushing Blow
Size: Large

*they do dmg but not much.

Heroes:

Name: Ludvig
Description: Ludvig is a little beared gnome with a strong mind and a weird sense of humor. Though he might be a little weird he is a great tacticance which makes him a strong opponent. Many enemies have laughed at him to their own loss.
Hero Skill: Twilligt Zone - The first 5 tiles seen from heroes point will be blackened - These tiles can only be viewed if enemy creatures is near them(visabillity 1tile!) or if the enemy has scouting!
Starting Skills: Basic Engineering, basic Logicstics

Name: Jurgur
Description: Jurgur is the only dragonic knight who leads an army. He is also the main leader of the dragonic knights. There is a strong Hierarchy inside the guild of the dragonic Knights and therefore he is the only one able to lead them!
Hero Skill: Dragon Blessed - Can infuse the army with special dragon power that ups the creature's hp by points equal to tier level and all dragonic knights gain +1 moral.
Starting Skill: Basic Engineering, Basic Attack

Name: Igari
Description: Igari was a little playful gnome and he enjoyed playing with the bots so much that he became the best builder of them known to the gnome empire. As he grew older he started making them stronger and he also invented the two modified bots. In the gnome soceity he is known as the toy maker.
Hero Skill: Toy Maker - All Bots rebound ability is improved with 1 tile and their attack is inscreased by +1 every second level.
Starting Skill: Advanced Engineering

Name: Inga
Description: Inga is one of the few female gnome commanders. Skilled in destrucktive spells and she is known for her great temperament. She is feared by many male gnomes because of her strong powers. There are many stories about her regarding her temperament and fire spells.
Hero Skill: Ill Temperament - All fire spells gets stronger by 1% whenever 1% of heroes army gets destroyed.
Starting Skill: Basic Engineering, Basic Destrucktion magic

I won't have to rush to write the history then, which is the boring part for me. Who needs history!

Hopefully nobody realizes that my pic of the 'Dome' town is actually of the Dubai Snowdome. If I didn't clip out the lower half the picture, you would see people skiing and sipping hot chocolate.
