WHAT!!!???
You get QPs in faction contests these days!!!??? Back when I created factions and was not addicted to WoW you never got QPs for factions!
Time for me to return in faction creation.
I will return... soon... with... my... Lizardmen entry!
Are you allowed to make carniviorious man-eating plants when you choose "Tree" ?
Or must you make a Treant?
And can I make the Basilisk draconic?
If you must make a Treant, does creatures that looks something like this count?
Pyramid
Home to the Huzirima, the Lizardmen
On the island of Hashima, a race who called themself the Huzirima lives. Within Hashimas thick jungles they build their homes. For thousands of years they have built their empire, isolated. These Lizardmen has their own great pantheon of gods, but these are the four most important ones:
Zylxarax - God of Death, Blood and Chaos: Zylxaraz is both an feared and respected god. Each day, the Lizardmen must sacrifice living blood to him. Otherwise, Zylxarax will instead take the life of two of the Lizardmen and terrible things will happen.
On the battlefield, Zylxarax inspires the Hashiman troops. With his essence, the Lizardmen turn into bloodthirsty monsters.
He is the evil aspect of the High God, Hualu. Gnolls are common victims of sacrifice.
Miya - Goddess of Life, Peace and Nature: Miya is one of the most peaceful of Hashimas deities - but still one of the most powerful ones. Miya is the opposite of Zylxarax and the son of the High God. Miya protects life and is the creator of all living things. Miya doesnt have a physical shape, instead she resides inside every living thing, including trees and rocks et cetera.
It is said that Zylxarax once waged war on Miya, and managed to destroy her. But he could not destroy life itself, and that is why Miya can never be seen and instead her soul resides within all living things. But if someone screams load enough, he will be able to hear Miya repeating the words.
But even today, Miyas priestesses wages war upon Zylxarxas cultists. In addition, Miya is one with nature and once per week the Lizardmen must offer special herbs to her.
Ziri - Goddess of Water, Storms and Balance: The Lizardmen lives on the isle of Hashima, and thus the ocean has great importance in their religion and life.
Ziri, the Maiden of the Oceans, is also a very respected goddess. Ziri is the youngest of the deites. It is said that when Zylxarax waged war on Miya, he raped her and she birthed Ziri.
So Ziri can sometimes be very peaceful and friendly, but suddenly turn hateful and dangeorus. Just like the sea she controls.
Ziri has both the aspects of evil and good inside of her, and has managed to keep an inner balance between the two.
Therefor, she has been chosen as the Goddess of Balance too. She controls the balance between everything in the world.
Scholars belive that Ziri is an alternate version of Shalassa, the elemental Dragon of Water.
Hualu - The High God: Haulu is the leader of the gods and goddeses. From his mighty citadel on the peak of Xiji, he rules over the world. Hualu is the most wise beign in the world. But in the dawn of creation, Hualu was an evil god seeking only to gain power over the entire universe and over all other deities.
But when Hualu birthed his first child, Miya, he was teached by his own daugther to love the world he ruled over and be happy of what he had. Miya managed to turn him good but an evil aspect of Hualu still existed.
Hualu banished his evil aspect to the Underworld, where it turned into the god Zylxarax. Zylxarax waged war upon Miya, because she had made Hualu good and thus banished his evil aspect to be locked in the underworld.
Zylxarax managed to slay Miyas physical body - but she contiuned to exist within in all living things trying to teach them to respect all life on the world and dont follow Zylxarax chaotic ways.
There only enemy was the native Gnoll, who they call "Stupid puppy-men!" But recently the Naga has revealed themself, and they have since long plotted to take over the surface world...
The Naga wants their first base on land to strategically be on Hashima but the Lizarmen are in the way...
With the civil war between Zylzarxas and Hualu worshippers, the Lizardmen stands no chance to defend themself agaisnt the incomming invasion. The remaining Lizardmen who are not stuck in the civil war has rised up as defenders of Hashima and use its terrain aswell as Guerilla tactics to vanquish the invaders.

Yes, a Tree is anything that resembles a walking trunk with limbs, so Treants work, as do ents and any other bark-covered creature.
Edit - Didn't see the other questions. No, a man-eating plant is not a Tree unless it is a tree. And let your heart go wild with what is considered dragonic.

Very well. I shall post the judgment for this week this Monday according to EST. I have much to do today, but I'll judge tomorrow. Perhaps I'll post tomorrow, who knows.
GENERAL INTEREST POLL
I would like to know just how many people are wanting to contue this. I can throw in some interesting twists, like general magic theme or Harmony between a creature and an offshot hero or god. I can make this conpetition revive, for the sake of Daystar, who has not been seen for some time...
Please HCM me with your answers, suggestions, and any comments whatsoever, They all are appreciated.

Alright, some much needed info for this contest.
ONE - Last Session's Scores
The feedback for each of these scores is available if you want it. It is written as I judged your entries, so it might be a little shorthanded. IF you need additional tips, then just ask.
Grading Scale -
5.0 Points max for each of the following Criteria (this is also how my new judginh system will work)
-Creativity - How original and off-beat your ideas are, and the flavor behind them and how well your faction is in harmony.
-Detail - Quite frankly, how much you tell me about your faction and its parts
-Balance - How equitable and planned out your faction is, how its parts connect together, and just how evened out your lineup is.
-Playabilty - A score of how well your faction could be implemented into the game, a hybrid of both your Creativity and Balance scores
-Discretionary - Any bonuses I deem fit to your faction, such as clear presentation, fascinating abilities, and interesting concepts.
For a total amount of points equalling 25
Now that you know that:
First Place - BlizzardBoy with 23.0 Points
Second Place - Eionomida with 16.0 Points
Third Place - Emilsn with 14.50 points
The rest in score order: Jiriki9, Berny-Mac, LordGodric, Xerdux

In fact...
Cue theme music fanfare!
WELCOME TO THE FINDING HARMONY FACTION COMPETITION, ROUND 2
Okay, for this week, I shall introduce not one, but TWO new twists!
TWIST NUMBER ONE! TABOO!
The following themes are forbidden -
Conflux, Free Cities, Fortress H3
Rules for Taboo - The words above cannot be used in any stage of the faction creation. No associate to the terms can be used at any stage during the faction creation. The faction cannot bear a resemblence to any of the stated factions. If a faction is too close to the theme of the three Taboo themes, then points will be deducted as a penalty in the next round of the competition
Creature Choices (must choose 3 of the five):
Mounted Flyer
Amphibian not Troglodyte
Zombie
Bear (Ursine)
Efreet
TWIST NUMBER TWO!
Your faction MUST contain this category of creature (outside the previous three):
Wizard (start you off easy)
This can be used in any form that consists of a real unit, be it hero or creature.
Good luck and message for help!

Great...I'm allready planning out some ideas (hehe).
But I also have questions...
1) Do I understand it correctly that the "must-have"-creature can also be the/a hero class of the town? But the other creatures still have to be the units...?
2) Does the taboo mean I would loose points for writing "Faction XYZ hates the elementals of the conflux?" And how far does this asssociate-thing go? Would, for example, setting the town in a swamp theme allready be too much the same with fortress?
3) What exactly is the theme of the free cities? I understand them as the towns of humans worshipping sylath, am I right here? (And does it mean, if i have one human unit and sylath is worshipped, that's allready too much resemblance to the free cities?)
4) Mounted flyer = rider on flying mount?
5) Bear (Ursine) = No Panda, and no half-humanoid Bear!?
also, I do not see troglodytes as amphibian, but I know that has allready been discussed somewhere here. ^^
Anyway, it's great this competition is going on
