Alliances, anyone?

Tote is quite fun because all the different possible skills, abilities and opponents you can play against. However, you can imagine the possibilities an alliance would bring!

So let's hear it folks: If you were to vote for an alliance between two factions which two factions would you choose? Which units would compliment another faction well? Which abilities would work well with units of a different faction? Assume of course that morale between two allied factions now becomes positive.

In the heart of the Silver Cities...

Narxes: All is finally at peace. However, we must not forget that preparation for the future is crucial to our well-being.
Jhora: Yes master Narxes. What is on your mind today?
Narxes: Well I was thinking of my colleague Havez. He sent me a message stating that he recently travelled to the Griffin Empire.
Something about creating a flaming ballista and catapult or something of that effect. I was hoping you could pay him a visit and lend him any needed support.
Jhora: With all due respect, master, why not go yourself? Your knowledge and experience should contribute more than what I could.
Narxes: I need to stay here to keep an eye on things. With Zehir gone to who knows where...that playboy *sighs* Your mind has the sharpest and fastest intellect Jhora. You could provide some fresh insight into the engineering of these devices.
Jhora: Alright master, I will leave on the morrow at the crack of dawn.

Meanwhile in the Griffin Empire...

Klaus: I'm the best. Another jousting tournament, another victory.
Vittorio: Hey Klaus, congratulations! I thought those lances of yours would turn rusty after peacetime came.
Klaus: There will always be a need for great heroes...and busty tavern wenches too of course! And I am the greatest of them all. Who else deserves the title of "Dragonslayer" more? Myself at the head of the greatest paladin host the Griffin Empire has ever known!
Vittorio: Let's not get carried away now. Don't forget that little remains of the Paladin host that went up against the black flaming death of the dark elves, and that most of the survivors are cripples...Really Klaus, the problem with your method is that knights are too directly involved in the fight. They get injured, killed, and are not easily replaceable.
Klaus: Well what do you propose? Our archers alone are too weak to fight the enemy. Magic perhaps? Maybe we should hire some of those dandy mages from the Silver Cities.
Vittorio: Actually you are more right than you know. I'm working on a project with Havez. We are thinking of combining the repeating effect we used in the last war with flaming effects.
Klaus: Ha ha ha! Just make sure you don't set everything on fire. What will you think of next? Going to Irollan and strapping lances to their dragons?
Vittorio: Dragonlances...? Hmm...

It is the week of the caterpillar, and this week is more special for the elves than usual because it marks the anniversary of the burning of the Great Tree. All are in attendance, and for the first time in a long time the dark elves are seeing the light.

Yrwanna: It is happy time indeed. Now that the war is over it is time to heal old wounds. Our people are whole once again.
Gilraen: Hey sexy, let's dance! (Grabs Yrwanna's arm and the two start an elvish folk dance)
Yrbeth: Would you look at that. Gilraen's the best dancer out of all of them. Looks like his skill comes in handy during peacetime too.
Kythra: Yes, but Ossir's more my type. He is just so manly, with that white tiger cloak and those bulging biceps.
Yrbeth: Bah! You only think of his musculature because it reminds you of your minotaur playthings. *laughs*
Kythra: *turning red* How dare you!?? *slaps Yrbeth on the back*

Suddenly the atmosphere turns serious and quiet, as though a chill wind has blown in on the festival.

Eruina: Although we are now at peace, we must never forget the past. It never changes. How can you cavort with them like they were your close friends or relatives. Have you forgotten our bloody exile?
Lethos: Should I go spike their drinks milady?
Eruina: No Lethos, we are officially at peace. I said we will not forget, but I can find it in my heart to forgive. Still I would not be so open and loose like these trollops!

All of a sudden, a very handsome ranger riding on an elaborately decorated pristine unicorn comes in.

"All hail Findan!" cries the crowd.

Eruina: Who...who is that one?
Kythra: That's Findan, one of the great generals from the previous war. Quite the heartthrob isn't he?
Eruina: My he is a handsome one. I had only heard of scouting reports of his fighting prowess, but have never seen him in person.
Kythra: *grabs Eruina's arm* Hey, let's go, I'll introduce you. He's still single you know!
Eruina: Wait...wait a second!!!

The festival continues, even merrier than before.

Meanwhile, in the self-proclaimed Isle of the Dead, Raven has escaped prosecution from Galib for the 500th time and has been allowed to practice Necromancy in peace. Mostly people come to commune with their dead relatives, to make sure their souls are at rest and that they have no needs. But today, a special visitor comes.

Garuna: Mistress Raven. I trust I come at a good time.
Raven: High Khaness Garuna. I am honored by your presence. Please have a seat. How can I assist you today?
Garuna: My people now have no more enemies. We have made peace with the steel men and the great wizards, but there is a sense of longing.
Raven: Longing? I do not understand you, your highness.
Garuna: We were created with demon blood and forever it is a part of us. Although we are at peace, the demonic rage that has helped us so greatly during the wars flares up every now and then, causing harm to our tribal unity. We seek knowledge for removing the demonic taint and becoming our former selves again.
Raven: *thinks deeply for a while* There is a solution. I know of one who has a magical device that will convert you into an undead version of your previous self. You will need to serve for a time, and once your service is complete, you shall be resurrected as your former selves. However, the mage who will do this for you will want a large number of converters, say at least 10,000. They will be providing...construction services of a sort. Is this to your liking?
Garuna: Yes, yes! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I will talk to my people, and we will agree to visit this mage friend of yours. Although we dislike magic, the price is not too high to remove the curse of rage.
Raven: Wonderful! Contact me when you are ready.

Garuna gets up and leaves. Raven watches the barbarian leader and thinks to herself: "hope makes fools of us all." All of a sudden a disembodied head appears in her mind: "Well done Raven! You have taken a tremendous opportunity and paved the path for our eventual return to power." "But how about Arantir, my lord?" "We will worry about him later. Asha will side with us." "Yes master Markal."

I personally like stronghold combined with dungeon. The best might and the strongest magic!

Interesting idea Unfortunately many colourful heroes were not well fleshed out or given depth in the campaigns or single scenarios so we only have their bios and skills.

Admittedly I could imagine those dialogues taking place in the game, maybe credits Or bloopers, we did not get any funny scenes. The final though is a bit too far-fetched, nobody would agree to that so easily. Anyways shiny applied

thanks for the heads up guys!

the dialogues are just stories from my imagination.
i'm just providing some potential reasons for alliances, but the true point of the thread is to have creative alliances, may be a good idea for heroes 6 right?

this inspiration came from one of the scenario maps i played recently; i think it was "dark alliance" or something.

Most common alliance can be necropolis and inferno, but i think that haven and necropolis suits more better, dwarves and barbarians, Dungeon and sylvan, but inferno and academy won´t suit and actually necropolis and inferno, academy and haven- thats more like it.

The % chance for that to happen in Ashan is 0.
Why? Necro's are Ashan's great worthshipers, and the demons are the Chaos Dragons kids.

Elves and demons would be a fun mess to watch Just imagine how uneasy would the elves feel letting demons set camp in their beloved forest making fires everywhere.

Apart from that, I really enjoyed the Undead/Nature theme in H4. Would love to see something like that again. After all life, death and rebirth following are all part of the cycle of nature.

Like there are no Demon heroes in the tavern anyway

Yeah this is a complaint. I think the tavern foreign heroes should at least be "allies" (that is, the same alignment)

But undead is undeath, or unlife, not "death", thus it is Nature's worst nightmare, so to speak (even in Neverwinter Nights description it goes like that).

I cannot agree, a dead tree has still the beaty of nature, however dead it is. Perhaps as someone has put it, undeath is the twisted miror of life. What of a wound or partial paralysis? Are they to be considered as not you? My opinion at least is that life through death is still life, that's why I fail to see the evilness in necromancy. Perhaps necromancers are for the most obsessed with power and ready to take thousands of lives to feed their own but how are they different from the living?

What necromancers do is unnatural.
There is a difference between being dead and being undead

If they were natural, then why don't zombies just rise up naturally without a necromancer?

It's really a twist of nature, being undead. Remember: undead =/= dead!
