William, my first post was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. You, on the other hand, took it seriously. Was I starting something? No, it was you who got mad at the people having fun. You know, you're just too SIRIOUS. Lighten up. Just Chill Out.
Now, he may not be doing this for attention. He may be going somewhere for a while. But no one leaves HC just to leave HC. They lose computer/internet access, RL becomes too demanding, or just slowly lose interest. They only make "I'm leaving" threads in the first two cases, though some just make them looking for attention. Just look at this.
Stop acting like you're HC's moral conscience or something, William. Relax. It's all in good fun. If you're not having fun, you shouldn't be here.

I took it seriously because I KNOW the reason why he left and from where I come from and how I was raised, I just found it disrespectful.
I'm sorry but I find it hard to relax at times. If you can help me then feel free. I don't like to be serious all the time but it is hard for me to be funny on the Internet to people on a forum. MSN conversations are not a problem since it's one on one talking. I have more fun there then I do on large forums such as this one. I guess I feel a little overwhelmed by all the people since I don't particularly like large crowds.
But hey, if yo can help that would be good.
I do apologise for sounding serious and acting like a jerk. Maybe I need to follow TUM's advice.

Hmm... I really don't feel this way about message boards at all. They never give me the impression of a large crowd, mostly since I usually am talking to one person or am in a small discussion. I guess I've never thought about them that way.
But my advice to you, young Cybergeek, is to explore the world beyond, and remember...

I used to be much more of a Wastelands and Tavern poster than I am now. And my jokes are either taken as rude (as in this thread), overlooked (as in most of my OSM discussions), or disgusting (as in my Subliminal Messages thread).

So now, I'm going to guess why he left.
it seems to me that there are two possibilities:
a) he sees all these new members pop up and he misses some of the guys who left and can't take it so well.
b)he's sick of his efforts going to waste like in his 3d world war rpg and he can't take that, cuz lazy participants, like say, me, ruin his thread.
(popped into my head) c) an old-fashioned HC drama.
