What game to buy? I'm done with HoMM3 I think.
Hello fellow HoMM lovers
Long time sinve I visited this forum and I'm glad to be back.
As I've sadly been very busy and as my router is hopeless (limiting me to singleplayer games) i've not visited this place for over a year now.
But I had to come back now! I really need some new HOMM action!
Playing single player on HoMM3 really bores you out after some time and while multiplayer always is a blast I just can't get it to work.
So what do you people have to recommend?
I've been reading reviews now of newer Warlords games, HOMM4 and HOMM5. I've also played and completed Warlords 4 and honestly it sucked so I have no high hopes for Warlords V neither.
From my point of view HOMM 4 seems snowty.
To much stuff is different from HOMM 3, Caravans just seem crazy (being able to move from any town to any town instantly?!), the combat seems weird and the battle graphics seem really uggly.
But if you really think that this game is good do tell me so!
About HOMM5...now this seems really nice, sadly I hear caravans were re-introduced in an expansion pack but the rest seems good.
The only problems I keep hearing about is BAD AI...is this true?
Cause this is the one thing that keeps annoying me in HOMM3...the predictable and bad AI.
Beyond that, do you think that Wake of Gods is a good refreshment for HOMM3? Does it keep true to the original while adding new content? Has the AI improved?
Which of the mods for Wake of Gods would you recommend? Or just simply Wake of Gods?
Oh and if you have any games outside the HOMM genré, please list them to! I'd like something similiar to HOMM2-3.
Thanks ya'll!

So like.. is the AI at least durable in HOMM5 and are there any mods for HOMM3 with new cool additions worth checking out?
Oh and does anyone know any other games similiar to heroes of might and magic?

You could try heroes 2. It can be pretty challenging at higher difficulty. For me anyway.

H5 has a bit worse AI than H3.My suggestion is to keep playing H3 or wait for H6.WoG has some bugs in it, but if we forget those its superb , If you get it you should experiement and see what mod feels the best.

This might be a little bit outside of your frame, but lately I've really been enjoying Sins of a Solar Empire. It is a great mix of RTS and turn-based strategy because it keeps many of the pressures in place from both genres. On one hand you've got the real-time pressures to efficiently explore the map and exploit resources; but on the other hand you've got to expand your empire very strategically. There's also a little bit of an RPG element because your ships are often anchored by a "capital ship" which can be upgraded in various ways.
It's also a nice break from the high fantasy genre because it is set in space.
Don't know what other platforms you might have, but Advance Wars DS is a fantastic turn-based game as well, though with a more limited tactical scope. Still, it offers almost endless replayability on its tiny little Nintendo DS cartridge and it's a fantastic value at the $25 it currently sells around.

Civilization 4 is pretty cool
It’s like sins of a solar empire on earth
It’s not great just ok
Assassins creed is wicked even if it isn’t a strategy game

You can download a mod for better AI to heroes 5 tote!
Somewhere in the Modders Workshop...
I don't know your style in games! But i especially likes Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath if we are talkin stragedy!
Good graphics and fast thinkin, unless you've played it too much!
And ofcourse Half Life 2 series from vavle! They are awesome to play! But thats a shooting/shock/fun game.. Buy it!
Everyone likes some future militiary combined with alien attacks killing game! And the story is worse than the one in Half Life, but what ever!
If you like HL 2, you would like the Minerva Metastasis mod
We can't forget Devil May Cry 3 and 4 to pc! Especially 4! That's a fun game! Hordes of enemies, huge bosses and hard gameplay! If you know a little about devil may cry, you would love the new person's "Nero" devil arm!
And my last example of fun games, is the Garry's Mod 10 <3
No matter wich mood your in, you'll always be glad to have garrys mod. You can't find a more contructive mod than this! There is actually no limits in the game! Every time a person thinks of something, there is a download for it! Watch youtube!
It's more fun if you own portal, CSS, HL2 Deathmatch, HL2, HL2 E1, Hl2 E2 and good graphic card.
