Hi.
When you click someone's profile, you may see a link called 'bonuses', where you can watch what did the person get a QP for. This is because you may learn how to earn them. (obviously, not by copying a QP-awarded post, but to know what kind of post may earn one)
But in this forum, there are penalties, too. I think they should be shown the same way as the bonuses. So that people would know what NOT to do, if they don't want to get penalties.

This is a very good idea
... because I'm interested in what penalties mvass has (he has 4 bonuses but only 2 QPs, so he has 2 penalties)

Keldorn, your I dea is great, but it has one major flaw. Most penalties are given in the VW, and once the threads they were in, were deleted, you can't track them anymore. You can also use the search engine it you want

When we penalize a member, we do it for a post which is wrong according to the COC and hence we would rather that it was never made, and quickly forgotten. Hence, we don't see much point in having perma-links to these posts, that would only cause more trouble.

Actually, I don't think the threads with either of my two penalties exist any more. Anyway, I got both of my penalties before you joined.

i also think when they do this (if they are going to) they should be a little more specific where the QP is like when i click on the bonus i sometimes see threads with 1000 or more points and it doesn't even say in witch page it is so it will take a real long time to spot the point.
what i want added is witch they will tell you in what page the point is or they will take to the page. I think feature this will help a lot of people.

I have seen this idea a few times around this board, but i think you should all read Alci's post again:

That is a nice logic Alci, but sometimes we can learn things from people's mistakes (well, except for those penalties handed out for posting porn. And even in that case it can be an important lesson in anatomy but ok, let's not go there ).
The problem is that those posts are usually deleted so most of those links would end up leading nowhere.

If they were to be like QP's links, then it wouldn't show. The QP count stays the same if the post is deleted but it doesn't show in the users profile.

But this idea seems good.And maybe there could be a picture or something stored for the penalty post if its deleted?

Why? If the person wants the post deleted then let it be deleted. If they don't want people seeing their penalties then there shouldn't be a picture.

I remember that I wrote somewhere the exact things that Alc said here, but...
When I see that someone gets a penalty, it's annoying to do a search with his nickname, press "Quality  Posts First", press "Search HC" and then go to the last page to see the penalty. I mean, I know it's necessary to see the bad posts of the forum, but let's admit: it's simply interesting! So an option like that would be indeed nice.
