Speak hungarian (guess why)
English (you may guess that too)
a little German (Ach so! Das war einmal...)
a very little Latin (that freakin' dead version... or long time ago I did...)

Now learn:
Jewish (because my GF)
Russian (but I'll give up 'cause I just can't learn it)

What is up with your passion in learning non-useful languages Skrentyz , you should be using that talent and passion to master Spanish, Arabic, French, and Chinese.

This is quite a common and logical question so let me explain :

I am learning those "non-useful" languages for a variety of reasons, Finnish, Lithuanian, Icelandic, Romanian are really linguistically-fascinating for me and I love their grammar and the way they sound, so in the end I actually primarily study them for enjoyment. There are, however, factors and benefits which make them useful for me specifically, apart from the fact I like the languages themselves:

Finnish - I'd want to visit Finland on holiday soon and knowing the language/being able to freely converse with natives in their language (I'd already be able to speak on tourist-level) would be great. I always wanted to move to Finland after university, and will aim to learn this amazing language to native proficiency eventually.

Lithuanian - Although I cannot see any economical reasons for knowing it, I really like Lithuanian too, and knowledge of the basics allows me to speak with my Lithuanian friends in their native language, even though we all can speak English fluently. It's just a challenge I'd like to take.

Others, such as Romanian, Icelandic, Estonian, and Hungarian I am simply fascinated by, and intend to study them in the future purely for the fun and curiosity

As for the "useful" languages you mentioned, I don't consider any of them necessary given I know the international English anyway, in addition to Polish and Finnish. French? It's not a very useful language outside of Europe and I know it anyways as I study it at school. Arabic? I do not see myself making any contact with the Arabic speaking world in my life, and even if such an unlikely situation occurred, I can easily converse in English. Spanish? Yes, it is very widely-spoken but I am not interested in it, and again, knowing English it's unnecessary. Chinese? Even though China is an economical power giant, and it is being commonly speculated it will become more important than the USA in the future, I simply don't like that language, the way it sounds, and the writing system, Japanese and Korean are a lot more appealing to me by the way.

How do you guys go about for learning a new language? What methods?

How long does it usually take you, before you master it on different levels? Such as tourist level, native level, etc.

@griffin-guy
As far as I know. More people in the world do speak chinese and spanish than english. So it follows that in certain regions of the world, english is insufficient for communication.

English
Arabic
German
Danish, Norwegian, Swedish (The three Nordic languages are very alike)
Hebrew (only a little)

I'm also picking up some Japanese these days, and that's probably the language I would like to learn next. Although French and Spanish might be more useful.
Also I know words and phrases in many languages, but I guess that doesn't count.

Duke - Felix sum quia aliquis praeter me est qui linquam Latinam dicit.
"I am happy, because there's an undisclosed someone besides me who speaks the Latin language."

Can't form sentences on my own though.

I'm also getting better at the Russian, not so much at the Polish.

Strange but your version is true to! I wanted to: "Thanks, you're welcome Evinin!" Next time I will be more cautious with double-meaning sentences
