Not only one Azzie, not only one. 
Oh and I used to play it too. Still got the cards somewhere stashed away. Prolly at my friends place. It isn't that complicated. There are a lot more complicated ones out there. Thing is. It just happens to be rather dull since some cards are quite overpowered. Two energy move with 50 damage, right. But the original three (regular, jungle, fossil) sets are still rather fun to play with. The ones after that are bleh.

when I played it, the rules was usually the pokemon with the most HPs won.
taking all stats in consideration, my strongest card was leviathor maybe. or electhor, but his attacks either cost all your energy card, or were possibly suicidal. oh well, maybe venomoth. it has average stats, but it could inflicts 2 negative effects in an attack and change its element at will without using a turn.
my worst card was that pokemon which looks like a shell. if I remember well it had 30 HPs and 2 moves :
-throw a coin. prevent half of the damage or die 
-throw a coin. deal dismal damage or nothing
50 damage for 2 energies? who does that? usually it is a white energy and 2 colored ones. sometimes 3 colored ones.

A bit too obvious for me that one Elvin, and the drawing style is really not that good.
