Question About H3 Computer AI
I'm on a Mac, and consequently have no editor to check this detail, so I was hoping someone could answer this for me.
On one of the maps I enjoy playing alot, I can't help but notice that the comps do something slightly different than on other maps. If they're stronger than a human hero, they'll attack it, if they're stronger than a human/comp castle (with or without a hero in it), they'll attack it, but if 2 rival computers' heros are in range of one another, and one is clearly weaker than another (even if it's say, 20 titans, 20 gorgons, 20 genies, VS 1 Knoll...), the stronger comp will absolutely NEVER attack the weaker comp. I've never once seen the comps fight with one another on this map other than when one assaults another's castle.
Is there some variable set within a map that determines comp behavior in some way like this? If there is, would someone be willing to take the map I send by E-Mail and do a change to this and a couple of other small things (since I have no editor for Mac)? It would be much appreciated.

If you don't have an editor, how do you expect to put a script into a map?

Can you read?
Did you even bother to read the post?
I was asking for someone else to check the script because I can't. That's the whole point.

If they only attack castles, maybe they have some kind of action radius..itīs possible to set that up in the editor, like for example a hero can only move 10 squares in each direction.

Nope, these Heros always move as far as they possibly can. Even without that, an action radius of 10 wouldn't explain why they don't attack enemy heros standing right next to them.

Hey hey, I didn't get mad but I'll admit I was annoyed (possibly due to the fact that this has happened EVERY time I've made a new thread on these boards). Nevertheless I forgive you, don't worry about it.

"Silly" question: Are the computer players on this map set to "Team"?

Well there's different teams "OF" computer players...obviously I don't expect comps on the same team to attack one another - however from a logical viewpoint one could not explain how they managed to attack friendly castles even if they were on a team.
It's 4 teams of 2. (or an FFA version, but the same dealie applies there, too)
Oh and I've sent the file, Wizard...let me know if you're willing to tweak some other stuff I'll provide after you've taken a look at this AI thing. Thanks. =)

The AI can have 3 diffrent personalities: warrior, builder and explorer. You can see what personality it has in your tavern when you have 4 or more taverns. You can choose personality in the editor. I dont know exactly how this work but there is no doubt that the builder is very defensive and the warrior is the most aggresive. So the most difficult to play against is a warrior. My guess is that the ais that never attacks are builders. Maybe that even means that a builder is set to only attack human players.

I just checked the game I'm playing to see how this theory holds up.
Comps are builders, explorers, and warriors, all three, none of them seem to want to attack other computers' heros in the open.
Guess that's not it...

Are you sure the AI ever attacks other cpuplayers in the open? I mean on other maps. I know they do if they cant pass without attacking. But otherwise?

I've gotten used to computer players attacking one another in the open as "normal behavior", that's the only reason I noticed this...
Oh and Wiz, my E-Mail just sent me a notification that the message to you was "delayed" for whatever reason. Let me know if you get it.
