Thanks sooo much Angelito!!!
It is awesome. Just tried it out and I am very happy with it. I like being able to start with 2 castles, it adds more strategy.
Only thing I would change is make it so wood/ore isn't guarded.
Not at my home right now but I will upload the 8xm8 template for u later.
Talk soon

I'm not into mapping but does this mean that I can download a playable map from you, c0ldshadow?
And which Heroes version is this for? 3?

Being a casual gamer myself, I gave it a try. I played at 200% and reached level 30 before I met any of the computer opponents, not to mention that I had a bunch of relics and several level 30 scouts from the prisons. I understand it's everything the original poster wanted, but sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for...

That's easy to change. When you open that text file, you will see 1 column where you can read "strong" in every line. This is the monster strength setting in general for each area. Just change the word "strong" to "average" for line (zone) ONE and FIVE, then you will have normal guards in each area (means EVERYTHING is lesser guarded in your starting area than it is right now!), and wood and ore mines are for free.

I have tested a bit more now and have realized, guards are still too strong for the computer player to be able get an advantage over the human player.
I have adjusted the template a bit, so it should be more often possible the comp player breaks into treasure area earlier than the human player(s).
Changes I have made:
- Monster strength in human starting area is set to "average" instead of "strong" (to prevent wood and ore mines from being guarded)
- Monster strength in first 2 areas of every computer player is set to "weak" instead of "strong"
- Guard (boarders to different areas) strength to 2nd area is reduced for every computer player. Guard strength of human players is 3 times higher.
- All other guards from comp areas to next areas are reduced, while human players still face 3 times tougher guards.
Will upload this new version tonight.
Edit:
New version uploaded here.
I have made some games on that template (200%, native style, WoG) and I like it very much. Computer player gets very strong when you meet him. He mostly has at least as high stats as you have (in the 30ies) and also has big army due to the 2 starting towns.
I love Gurni with 60 attack skill in random maps

Hi Angelito,
Thanks so much for all of your help!!
I am about to try out to new version you uploaded with my friend.
Is there a way to make it so at the beginning of a map heroes can only start as lvl 1?
Peace,

Yes, but that would mean you wouldn't find any high level goodies in your starting area anymore. Because high level heroes have a value too. And sometimes the comp places a level 5 oder level 10 heore as "treasure" in your area. So I think it is better to restart if that happens, than to change the values in the starting areas.

I tried to use this text file to make a random map but I get the error message "Cannont create random_map.h3m in data directory"
If possible could someone map 5 or 6 random maps with this template and email them to me or upload them?
Cheers
Dave

Seems you miss a folder. Take a look and check if you have a directory named "random_maps" as subfolder of your Heroes3 folder.

Seems like I have a similar problem. But I do have the random_maps folder. I can create 3do randoms but can't seem to generate other templates as balance and so on. Any help is appretiated.
Thank you

Does one of these two [1, 2] solve the problem (after renaming them to rmg.txt of course) ?
Does any one of them replicate the problem ?
The two files are not the same.

Hmm the first one works. Thank you very much. But what is the difference? I ask this because none of the other temps I play such as jebus, marathon, E2, panic and BB work.

The difference is on the "new line terminators", otherwise the contents of the files are the same. So, under Windows a "new line" is two characters: carriage return and line feed (CRLF).
I suggest you download for example the UNIX2DOS program from here and try to convert one of the other templates that at the moment do not work. All you have to do, is save the .exe file in the same directory, open command prompt there, and give for example:
UNIX2DOS blockbuster.txt
Try it, and let us know if it fixes the problem. I know this Unix-stuff sounds insane, but it fixed this sort of problem once for me in the past. IM me if you need more info.
If this does not fix the problem, post a link to one of those files, or email me one of the files that have problem; e.g. blockbuster.txt and I will inspect the file.
