Yes, unfortunately I stink at making maps. There are three large land areas, and about 50 smaller ones surrounded by dwindling oceans. The main area is about 3x larger then the other two. Besides some mountains and a bit of ice on the far north of the main area there is mostly desert.
A few random oasis spot the land..and one large section of forest to the far south on the second largest area. Wish I could draw a map.
Well since everybody seems to want a starting magical item (ugh) whoever is joining can select one. Just remember that magical items might actually be dangerous to use!

Hmm, still not sure I'll join this because of lack of time, but can you draw a sketch of the map in Paint? Maybe I'll try to make it look more interesting...

I can make it something like my Magik map with Photoshop
Here an example
If you like that style, just give me a sketch or something (in Paint - doesn't have to look good) and I'll try to make it like the above.

Alright. Edited my other post, for my character. Hope barbarians are fine. Just so you know, I'm not going for another Belaver here.
Figured I'd start off the PC postings. Not sure whether we were going for first- or third-person, but I posted in third-person, since that's how the majority here seems to post. I will probably post in first-person at some point in the future, though, not thinking about it.

Race: (decided to NOT take a special race here) Human male
age: 43
Name: Khira
Class: Ranger
specialised in dual weapons combat and takes point blank shot as feat.
His pet is a jackal, called Varo (desert terrain and all).
He's dressed in desert nomad attire (camouflage and white cloth to provide cooling like this with this), armed with a spear and a short bow, he roams the desert.
alignment: neutral good
I'll try to make a post when ready.

Ok...posted!
I gave myself a "disheveled shack" and a +1 Dagger (and a cloak...but that has no magical bonuses so oh well. ). Hope you don't mind. Feel free to tear down the shack if you want...
(Would actually make a lot of sense in the storyline...)

If I were to join this one I would be making a guy wandering in the desert like DG. I dislike ranger class though. Any suggestions?
Going to be using a shamshir(kind of scimitar) and going to have a camel(not as a mount but as a stuff carrier). A male human most likely.
So any class suggestions?

Hmm...in my opinion...you sound like a Fighter or a Rogue.
The whole shamshir element does make you more of a fighter though...rogues prefer shorter weapons.

Paladin not my thing. Lawfull good? just booooooooooring.
That brings me to a good question to Mysti.
Does divine existence crumble too? Meaning that do gods die and such now that magic is all chaos?
Maybe i'll stick with fighter. But most likely a not so good one.

Boring and a few choicer words I shouldn't say, so I won't.
Let's just say some Paladins are overly zealous.
Nice question...let's see what Misty responds.

I'm in if I can bring in Xerces Mooncry. I don't think the generic rpg is going anywhere and it'd be a waste of a character.
Quote: Name - Uh... Xerces Mooncry
Personality - Trapped in a world of teenage agnst, Xerces copes by wearing black and writing poetry. Somewhat depressed and off-putting with a nihilistic attitude. Good at killing dreams.
Unusual Traits - Has the odd ability to slip into "Goth World", a dark, depressed parallel dimension where everyone likes Fallout Boy and broods about how much love hurts. On a plus side, coffee and cigarettes are relatively cheap there compared to reality. He has also dabbled in the dark arts with little success other than managing to turn his hair black through the ancient Mabaline potion.
Fatal Flaw - Depending on how emotional he becomes, Xerces can be trapped in Goth World for days at a time. This phenomena occurs because at his peak emoness, the residents of Goth World view Xerces as a divine emissary sent by the dark powers below to guide them through the darkness and pain. The problem, of course, arises out of Xerces's strange relationship with the dimension. The longer he remains, the happier he becomes due to being accepted and an understanding populace. Unfortunately, Goth World inhabitants look down on happy people or Haps and seek to kill them whenever they appear. Therefore Xerces has to be incredibly careful not to spend too much time in the bleak realm.
Catch Phrase - "If only you could gaze into the deepest chasams of my soul. Only then could you truly appreciate how painful it is to smell roses."
Weapon of Choice - Words. Hurtful words. Oh, and spite. Years of getting beaten up have rendered poor Mooncry very spiteful.
Generic setting:
Suburbia. Xerces spends most of his time in his parents's basement escaping the pain and hurt of the outside world. When emboldened or required to attend school, he bravely treks out onto the mean streets of suburbia. Overrun with nuclear families, soccer moms, and people who say hi for no apparent reason, it's sunny, upper-middle class Hell.

Ouch...he sounds so similar to me that it makes me almost want to change.
Almost.
Except for the black gothness, the liking of Fallout Boy and the strange dimension and the upper class thingie and the...*keeps ranting*
Seriously though, I'd bold the similarities...but I'll plead the 5th.
So, what class are you going to be Omega?

Quote: I figured out a backup character:
Name: Hogorm
Race: Gorgon/Medusa
Class: Swift Blade/Untouchable blade
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Personality: Elf hater/eater
Lol, same problem as the efreet. Gorgon's are magical creatures. As for Elves, one of the reason they live so long is that they have magic in their blood. Elves typically also make the strongest casters (be it druid or otherwise). Dark elves particularly, that is why they have some inate magical ability.
As for class, since swiftblade/untouchable blade doesn't exsist..I take it you mean a fighter who specializes in rapiers? Or did fourth edition add a couple classes I don't know about? Though everybody is not starting level 1 (equivilent of level 6 for everybody OR 3/3 or 2/2/2 for multi class).
Well, there is a diffrence between Gorgons and Djins, Djins are made 100% out of magic, Gorgons is just somewhat magical. Also did you see the site I showed you and the classes there? Are Swiftblad/Untouchable blade aloved?
And damn me for loving to play Exotic races. Normally in RPs/Games I play Human/Undead cause their are easiest to play with/fit me most, but now I decided NOT to make a human character... :/ And I find dwarfs, elves, orcs, etc. booring so when I don't play human, I want to play exotic races... Now I'm stuck chosing between the Gorgon and the Efreet(as I don't want to make a new character) >.<

As long as you realize you have to change a bit to fit a past setting, that character is ok with me Omega
Ok some notes (this post will be edited many times to try to answer all the questions (limited time unfortunately):.
AlkarRahn - Barbarians are fine. In fact, they would be better off then a lot of people.
DG - Sounds fine.
B-E-T-A : Havn't had time to check swift blade yet...sorry..give me time. Your main problem with a gorgon is the turning people to stone. A very magical effect, which means it will be fair game for me.
Winter - the Hut is fine..just remember..its fair game
JoonasTo - Want something different? Try a Dark Knight (basically dark paladin). Note : My Paladins do not have to be Lawful Good. Any god can have a paladin/dark knight..so they can be any alignment. The abilities do change somewhat according to alignment.
Divine Spells..are a tad more reliable then arcane magics. When they go wild it is also less dangerous. However a cleric or paladin in the service of somebody such as Symbol (a goddess of magic) would be in trouble.
((Will answer whatever I missed here as soon as possible))

So how do the palas work?
Do their divine abilities work at all? Or do they backfire?
How about their strenght? Since it's divine given?
So neutral palas are okay? Or do they have to be lawful?
You didn't asnwer my question about how the divine presence is in thios world? Gods that is?
I think I can spare time for this one if this is more you controlled.
