I came up with a new idea. 5 Star Members can get a star template. Mine looks rather crude at the moment, but this is the basic idea.

whoa that avvie turned out to be pretty good. I think I actually would use that as my mod one. If I by any very very small chance should be a mod.

I appreciate your effort but it's not a good idea IMO.
You know, most forums don't even have 'special' avatars for Mods... what's really the point? I mean, it already says: "Moderator" or something, and the Red Stars are also shown... why does the avatar need to change?
I can understand the shield thing now since it's a 'tradition', but IMO we shouldn't make any more 'special avatar rules' for some members.

Asheera, think what you want, but I personally think that RSF's idea is good. Think about it. When you get to 5 stars the only thing that you get is the ability to rate threads. That doesn't seem like too much since it is an option that isn't as good as what you get for getting 3 red stars or 4. I think that's the reason why RSF got the idea, at least I hope so otherwise this post will look stupid.

People can just request a star avatar for their personal one if they want. There are no rules against having a personal avatar within a star ...

@William: But why getting a star avatar is an 'improvement'? You already get 5 red starts below the avatar, and that's the rank. Why would having your avatar enclosed in a star be something 'better'?
