Who are your friends?
Hi guys...come round the tavern table and tell us a little bit about your friends.
*takes a swig of beer*
I'll start. One of my old friends once explained to me how she has different friends for different purposes. I had never thought of it that way before but it makes sense.
So I have little categorizations. Like if I want to talk politics I'll call my friend John in Chicago. If I'd rather talk girls I'll call Brad the party dude in California. Some friends I go to the bar with, others I bond with on the soccer field.
Then there's this crazy dude who thinks he is like part elf and has lordly delusions of skill that I talk to online.
Who are your friends?

Well in my opinion,best friend is person with whom u do all the things all the time and person u can trust.I knew my best friend since i was 6 or 5,when i was going to kindergarden.Since then all we have done is same,if i go one place-he goes same,if he plays Heroes-i play Heroes ,and so on.I also have billion of other friends where i go to hang out if i get bored or smth,but mostly with my best friend.

Haha only messing with you phoenix  Since you brought up online friends you may want to check this. You have probably seen it but it's something most new people would find interesting, for now let's leave that aside.
I used to think about categorization of friends according to interest back in high school but not anymore unless there are practical reasons like lack of time. For me a friend is someone you want to be with regardless of beliefs or flaws just because you share a common bond. In this respect you are not restricted to doing something specific together, you may have some common interests of course but it's partially irrelevant. People that I hang out with that are fun but not quite true friends I would instead call buddies, I have a measure of trust and respect for them but I either don't know them well or for some reason I cannot consider them a friend. I can say that I have some friends here for which I am grateful.
Where real life is concerned I have several important friends. Two I know since high school, Luke and Nick. Fun types with the latter being the more serious of the two, I used to be the shy one in the company I know I can talk to them about anything yet due to time restraints as well as spacial(we don't live close anymore) they sometimes feel they have missed things about me while we were away. Kinda funny in the sense that I never changed apart from getting a more easy-going attitude, I remain as bluntly honest as ever. Luke is the introverted one and will not often talk about himself, he often does immature things for fun Nick's life has caused him to become more mature than his age would indicate and pretty serious but there is always time to crack a joke and have fun. Pretty perceptive too, good thing he toned down his judgementalness Extroverted and social.
Another friend I have known before those two is George, we used to meet outside Athens, a place between mountain and the sea a sparcely populated area surrounded in pine woods. I have fond memories from there, explorations, missions, weapon crafting, building a fortress Back then there were two brothers in the company with whom we later lost touch as they moved away. When I saw them years later they could not even spare the time to have a chat because they had arranged something with other friends, so much for childhood friendship. Anyway George is the nature type, cool, calm and likes to get philosophical - always something interesting to say or do. We've got some fun common friends, there is always good time to be had with them.
A more recent friend is Costas, much like me he tends to be in the middle between friends but where we differ is that he is a lot more social than I. He is the geek type, we can talk about comics, movies or games for hours Personality wise he has a low profile, is accepting, diplomatic and tactful. While he is discreet he will open up if you ask him a few things, great guy.
Then there is my best friend Frida. Interesting type, social, hard to figure out but lets actions speak for themselves. Good mixture between serious and funny, unfortunately for her she often has doubts so she can be unpredictable if she notices something suspicious - she has been betrayed a few times in the past. Very important person to me, our friendship has been through a lot.

It just means you might talk about heroes games with one friend but not with another. You'd be more likely to reveal deep secrets to an old trusted harmless friend than the new guy at school you started hanging out with.

You could say that most people know different sides of you not because you hide anything but each person brings up different things in you. Part of shared experiences, common grounds, general philosophy, hobbies - it all influences what is likely to tell them or what to overlook. Trust plays a major role with certain sensitive subjects. You can also consider the environment in which you meet your friends as a factor, some would not tell personal things to colleagues so as to keep it formal.

I meant in the sense that it happens naturally whether you try to hide something or not. And I disagree, I'd rather know about what my friends are about even if it comes to past mistakes.

I mean, people just classify "friends" too loosely IMO. You need to call that only someone who truly trusts you and will be there for you when you get in problems, no matter how...
with that definition, I may not have any friends at all (or maybe just 1 or 2).

Hmm, I don't think I have many "true" friends.
Well there's this nice guy I know, who is an expert in computers and who helped me buy the new comp since I don't have any clue about the motherboard specs and what MB should I buy and all that compatibility stuff regarding it, and he also assembled the computer since I have no clue how the Processor is put in there. So thanks to him I have my new comp up and running 
Apart from that I don't think I have any other "true" friends.

Exactly what I was aiming at.
I have no such person. But then again I might not deserve to either. I don't really trust anyone fully. So it's my own fault.
