Quote: And it is very rare that mobs respawn on you
Riiiight...
You do know that most mobs ignore my minion if they can get their dirty hands on me... Minion also disappears if it's too long out of sight. And voidwalkers are generally ignored. Succubi have a chance.
Soul stones helped me, but I still couldn't get away in time. And yes, I could turn mana into life... For my minion that is.

They sure can help, but they are usually ineffective. Chances, chances, chances... No assurances and I give up after it didn't work for the sixth time and decided to spend more money on my succubus
Yes, of course, they increase the odds, but if that AI creep can take me, why would he settle for my minion?

So all those that still play H3 are addicts?
Hell yeah I am, it's a great game and I love it.
But while you can get the "just one more turn-wait, I've been here for six hours?" feel with RTSs, it's not like an MMO where you have to grind, you are really tied to a group, and so forth.
MMOs are naturally addicting because of the time investment required.

I don't know about that, given that Heroes IV had an even better storyline than III... one of its better aspects, actually.
I'm sure it did, but it still H-Bombed the old Erathia/Enroth, right? As I understood it that barbarian guy from heroes chronicles got to some epic battle too late, Gelu was stupid and decided to use Armageddon's Blade against the frost blade, and rocks fall everybody dies. (besides the ones who fled through a portal.)

Clearly you disagree, but why? You don't think Heroes III had the better campaign storylines, do you? Or maybe that neither had a decent story?
If so, I should be laughing at you

So this discussion started from MMOs in general, then moved on to WoW and now it's about Heroes 3 and 4 stories... quite the topic-shift, don't you think?
Oh and btw @Xerox:Quote: Plus if you think mobs respawn to fast then you can always report to Blizzard about the issue.
What makes you think they will listen to you? I'm sure they get millions of complaints and are tired of them, so it's a high chance they won't listen to you, especially if other players don't share the same opinion (or don't give a damn about it)

Well, the thing is... there is a thing called threat in WoW. A Voidwalker minion would defend its master and gain more threat, making enemies attack them...
It is not likely that a mob would respawn upon you and you would die 10.000 times in a row.
For example, I leveled my enchantment (melee damage dealer) Shaman yesterday (lvl 30 atm) in a zone called "Thousand Needles" which looks like Grand Canyon with lots of huge stone pillars in it.
So anyway, I climbed up on one of those pillars because I had some quests regarding the Grimtotem tauren there (there was a guy who had kidnapped a girl he wanted to be married with and you had to discover the Grimtotems alliance with the forsaken).
So I wandered between the pillars through bridges etc and killed the mobs that stood in the way. I could take up to 3-4 at the same time so it went pretty fast.
I completed the quests but there was a kidnapped Tauren woman up there who you needed to escort to safety.
She tells you her story etc and she cries all the time (which is very annoying).
When you escort her lots of freaking Grimtotems attack, and some respawn on you too!
I remember one battle. We were on the middle "pillar" and there were 3 grimtotems there. I killed them and were pretty much out of mana. Suddenly three other grimtotems attack! I survive but then two respawn -.-
One attacks me so it wasnt a big deal.
----------------
In short, there are plenty of waves to survive. Respawning shouldnt be an issue and there arent many keeps etc in WoW.
As a warlock you could have sent your Voidwalker/Felguard (which is the leveling pet, succubus is for pvp) and sacrifice health for mana, drain life and heal your pet.
Warlocks are one of the best leveling classes so it shouldnt be an issue.
And Blizzard always answers you. It dependso n what time of the day you send them your report.
You get to talk with the Game Masters and they will say "we will check it out" or "its a known bug" etc.
I have reported plenty of bots and never seen them again.
Also most instances takes under an hour to complete.

Quote: Warcraft has nothing common with Warhammer except green orcs and "War" in its name.
Well, that and the fact that the original Warcraft was developed as a Warhammer game before the licensing fell through and Blizzard changed just enough to not violate copyright.
World of Warcraft disappoints me due to its lost potential both gameplay and story wise. WoW did more harm than good for the setting's lore. Personally, I blame the story's deterioration on the "DBZ syndrome" caused by leveling MMOs and their constant need to have a new bigger/badder enemy than the last.

Well, as you level you progress further in time which also makes your enemies progress.
Personally, I dont see what is wrong with the lore in WoW. Few things have been retconned and most of the plots are good.

sorry, but the lash thing of the succubus generates more threat. I am more threatening than the voidwalker it seems but the things of course respawn usually at incovenient timing, like... When I killed the last one in a corner and wiping the sweat of my forebrow and looking for the mcguffin documents of Bowazia for my quest...
Also, do you know how much pointless travelling I have to do for my felguard? point A, B, C and D are very remote and are very hard to find as well... I think it could take me at least a half hour or more to travel that...
Also, shammies can go melee, but never suggest that to a warlock
They are like whipped cream when facing a few tough melees especially if they respawn in front of you. Succubi die fast and voidwalkers are tough to regenerate enough threat, unless you don't want me to fight back... Which sucks

the case of which warlock's minion is the best for PvE. The answer is...
...
...
... Voidwalker.
Why? The torment ability keeps aggro on your minion instead on you. If things get bad you can sacrifice it to get a shield
