And a Warchief like Thrall would make it even more likely that races like Forsaken, Belfs and even Satyrs etc could join.
If you werent aware of it, the Forsaken and Blood Elves are not allowed to fight with the Horde in the major battles there.

xerox...
I sorta own all the WoW RP books
Night Elf "Shadow Priests" are not corrupted or anything, they are simply not Priests to begin with... I believe the correct term is Shadowhunters ...and they were taught by Troll "shamans"
(EDIT: Elune is specifically stated to be against ALL and ANY form of violence)
as for Druids and Hunters using arcane magic, don't mistake gameplay balancing for lore
...who said all Arcane users are kill-on-sight? ...oh, nobody important, just some guy named Malfurion, ignore him... he'll go away
and yes yes, the early quests explain everything about warlocks and whatnot... and you even get a quest later on explaining the hatred Kaldorei have for all things arcane (its been a while, but i recall two siblings stuck in a fortress somewhere)
and the actual effect this has in game? nada, zip, zilch... you can walk around with your succubus on toe and the city guards and npcs won't try to give you a permanent haircut

I HAVE NOT READ ANYTHING ON THIS THREAD!
-Couldn't it just be because HC wants a story that is moves forward and ending, and not just an eternal gameplay?

Why, isnt it boring when the story ends?
Im sure that the old Might & Magic fans cried when there little universe would never get contiuned (except by LotA).
And yeah, that Ghost cinematic is awesome. Starcraft: Ghost might had been the only fps I was going to play ever.
Now they are probably remaking it into a MMOFPS.
----------
Lol, Shadow Hunters = Shaman?
They are totally different things -.-
While a Shaman asks the elemental spirits for power to unleash upon their enemies, a Shadow Hunter balances between Light and Shadow and uses the power of the Loa gods.
Just because Night Elf Shadow Priests arent recorded in the lore, its possible for them to exist.
All Shadowpriests were former Priests, in WoW Shadow is a talent tree focusing on damage dealing and utility.
There are several Forsaken priest trainers that are called for example "Shadowpriest Gerald".
Elune is against violence? Night Elves have always been in a war. They fight all the time... -.-
Its probably similar to our religions today. Most religions tell us to not use violence, but we do it all the time anyway.
Druids and Hunters use arcane. There is a reason the hunters dps shot is called "Arcane Shot".
Hunters use a combination of arcane and shamanstic/druidic powers in combat.
Druidic powers include the ability to heal their pet, ressurect their pet and call on the aspects of different animals, such as monkey and viper.
Druids use a purified form of Arcane magic in their moonfire and starfire spells etc.
Mal'furion has nothing against the mortal races. It was another guy one page back that said "omg WoW screwed up the lore because Night Elves kill on mages on sight!!! qq".
If some Night Elf is ignorant, then its Tyrande Whisperwind and Fandral Staghelm.
If you do a Death Knight then people spit and throw bananas at you. In-game the Warlocks always have there headquarters in some hidden location suchas the Cleft of Shadows or the Slaugthered Lamb tavern.

xerox...
once again, i feel you have a hard time separating the mechanical aspects of the game (like Druid and Hunter "arcane" abilities) from actual lore
i could give you book and page for malfurion's decree... but...
till you manage to do the above, there is no point in continuing this discussion
*bows out of the thread*
EDIT: ok, one last thing... last i checked, Druids and Priests used "Divine" magic, which is different from the Arcane magic of Mages and Warlocks... and from the Spirit magic of Shamans and Shadow Hunters ...different source altogether, which is what makes it SAFE for them, unlike Arcane magic that tends to warp stuff (as evident by Harpies, Satyrs, Naga, etc)

WoW is canon.
Its obvious that a spell called "Arcane Shot" is supposed to be arcane, otherwise they could just use the name "Prescise Shot" or something.
Its already confirmed by sources in-game that Druids use a lesser and purified form of arcane magic.
Do you seriously belive they shoot stars and moons?

I don't understand your inability to understand. Are you serious? It was good storytelling through a video game for Krohn's sake, not rocket science or the quantum theory.
"Modern" eh?
Hmm. That's debateable. But I guess this belongs on a Heroes forum, not a Warc- err.

It certainly is more boring than getting X amount of objects, killing X, killing X amount of monsters, killing X amount of monsters to get X amount of items, or finding object X for NPC Y.

All MMOs are like that... I dont like them very nice either but you get used to them. I mean, it takes undr 10 seconds to kill a monster.
And in WotLK there are several other quests including to replay the Culling mission in Warcraft 3, replay the Illidan VS Arthas quest and defending the huge Argent Crusade base against frost wyrms, undead nerubians and crypt fiends etc

Tbh, I find HoMM III RMG to have near-infinite replayability; I still love every game.
But yeah, that cinematic (ghost) kicked butt, and I was also pretty upset when Nival decided to kill a unique "fantasy" universe in favor of their own, newly created and decidedly more generic one. Not that I don't understand why they did it, I was just upset. The old, post-apocalyptic M&M universe was far more original and interesting than the Warcraftian/Warhammer knockoff we have now. Not that I don't like H5, it's great, but the H5 universe sucks.
Of course from what I hear H4 basically H-Bombed the HoMM universe I knew and loved, so maybe it's for the best anyways.

Gameplay wise, online games never defeat offline. The strongest point of MMO is community, not gameplay. WoW is more boring than HoMM 3.

I don't know about that, given that Heroes IV had an even better storyline than III... one of its better aspects, actually.

There is a reason many players have stayed to the game for years.
