It scared the snow out of me too!
It's not the blood, but the little girl and the creepy sounds that scares me.
I'm one of thoose that think The Ring and other movies like that is scarry!

Sure, it's the same thing.
But don't you agree with me? I mean, a non-scripted AI would mean an AI which can think on its own, and thereby evolving, which has not yet been created... right?
Otherwise I think we should all be scared, I mean, for real!

I'm not sure. on the contrary, maybe a too scripted AI may think by itself (or more exactly have glitches which makes it look like it can think by itself(by glitches, I don't mean programming mistakes, but things the programmers hadn't thought about)). like the master AI in the movie "I-Robot" which is only supposed to protect all humans at first, but realises it is impossible, and finally decides to get ride of the potentially dangerous ones instead.

A little comment to your talk.
Tekken 5 did have a special AI.. They learned moves and combos by playing agaisnt you.. After quite many jours of playing, the AI did many of my tricks and moves. Quite awesome if you ask me..

there was a similar AI on liero. I played against it while it had learned a lot from a friend who was very good at the game. despite being decent at the game, I got my ass kicked badly.

Actually there's some type of AI that becomes existentialist (battlefield anyone?) and loses the will to live, since life is entirely pointless... Especially theirs...

There is no such thing as NON SCRIPTED AI.
Except Source, and we all know how bad that turned out. Everithing in FEAR and FEAR2 is scripted.

I don't really understand your point...
A few pages back you said to me that Half-Life 2's AI didn't have scripting, and I said that you were wrong...
Now you're actually admitting that I was right but saying it like it was your idea?

Listen... Everything in computers is scripted, it always responds to something in a way decided by algorithms and stuff. Such AI seen in games like Far-Cry 2, F.E.A.R. and so on simply has so many ways to react that it seems random to us. If we blow a hole in a wall the AI will adapt, but if we give it the exact same information again, it will respond in the exact same way again... it's scripted.
As long as computers doesn't have free will, it will never, never be non-scripted.

Just ordered a 360 + F.E.A.R. 2... probably gonna get it on monday. SWEEEET!
Can't wait to turn the lights down and the volume up... I've missed this feeling.
