OK, the terrain might need some work (it's too green - we'll need some trees and stones here and there, maybe even Cursed Grounds in the graveyard?)... but it looks good. Actually, I had planned to create a town like that myself, so I liked your ideas. You created some great stuff with the Object Editor.

Mamgaeater is next. The deadline is one week. Please don't add more land like Kesnar did, because the map is already huge as it is now.

The idea of real town is interesting, I already tried to make one long ago, it's hard to render it beautiful (I didn't manage to actually)
Maybe the next mapmakers will improve the stuff a bit, I will do it too

I have finished a small section. a little quest with a trap for the player is in it. (there is a fair warning)

It looks good , but I have one question: what's the point of that Skeleton? Why should a player go there? There's no reward, it doesn't join, no quest or message...? Or did I miss something?

Anyway, Cepheus is next. The deadline is one week. After that I'll do a part, unless somebody else signs up.

seers hut to the north. it asks the player to slay it. reward is titans cuirass i think. Did i do a good job with the decorations?

Oops, I'm holding you all up here, aren't I.  Storywriting is taking a while.  That's all I intended to do with my shot, so if I'm slowing you down, people can go ahead and create more of the map and I'll add the story afterwards.  It won't be done by tomorrow though

Not that it's my decision, but I think it's great that somebody is putting some story in this map, and story writing does take a bit more time..

OK, here's the update:

I added some basic scripts, including the loading screen.

IMPORTANT:

1) Unpack ALL the files from the archive to your Maps folder.
2) Please do NOT move other people's objects from now on, because some scripts are based on the current coordinates of those objects.

Other notes:

I edited Kesnar's town a bit (SORRY! ) to fit the story more. Speaking of which... It's been an RPG-ish map so far, but if you prefer a more strategical scenario, feel free to add AI opponents in the southern parts. Please limit their patrol though.

The story so far (while we're waiting for Cepheus's novel ): the travelling pilgrim gets to choose his order (i.e. his brethren), and his bonuses later depend on his starting choice.

The swamp and the snow areas are explained as the doing of an evil Sorceress living in the northern forest... Killing her could be a major quest or something (to prove your worth etc).

Finally, I loved the Vampire quest, so I've expanded it and moved it northward.

Please test the current map to see if there are any bugs and let me know what you think and what we should change.

Also please get the idea BEFORE you start mapmaking (no more unrelated stuff, no more random BLANK objects - if you can't script them, don't use them unless it's just decoration). Finally, test your part of the map before you upload it.

i have a question. in the section i just completed (a spotty clawlike landscape) there are a few typos. for one the event before fighting the skeleton has shak instead of shake for a word.

secondly the quest guard is messed up. if somebody could change it so that he will accept a bribe. to let you pass.

i can fix it later but if someone could do it now so i don't forget that would be nice.

Wow, RPG game ? I never did this before for a H3 map, I will try to though. If I need to know some advices, just tell me

Finally, I may have an idea. With ERM it would be easy to make it (but I prefer let the skilled ones doing it ).
We can make a closed area (surrounded by trees, montains, hills... etc) ; the player has to complete a quest, thus some decorative stuff will be deleted to open this area.
This is just another way to act rather than using a quest guard, but which fit more to a RPG IMO.
I think I could be able do script this, if the completion condition is quite easy to understand

The Rampart hero should be able to pick them up. I don't have the object editor installed at the moment, so I just placed those WoG artifacts in front of the town.

We can change it in the testing phase (in case it's imbalanced or doesn't work).

Yeah, it's easy to script. Give it a try but let me know if you need help.

Vlaad, you forgot to uncheck the pendant of death. Being a treasure artefact, it may appear on the hero on turn one, thus give 10 nightmares, which are better than all your bonuses.

Through events and ERM to make the creatures of the town say rumors...bad thing I don't know ERM...I may only let them say one thing...

Hy! sorry to keep you waiting so long but i had a lot of issues with the map editor. Each time i almost finished my work i get error, the editor crashes and when i try to open the map it has error. This is the 5th time i try. Please tell me that you can open it and it's only the problem of my editor


If it doesn't work. can u wait few hours to make it one more time?

What exactly you did? There are several things not to do when using the objects properties. Use Sergroj.objet exe and not the "advanced properties" new box. Some objects can't be changed into others. If you modify the passability of an object without removing it FIRST it will crash and for ever.
