@Duncan .well, I will fix the text how about cloak + ring of broken will cambine? Morale is important for barbarian you know, because they would lose their rage if they have a bad morale. You can also use vampirism + PM + Empathy combine , it works effective.

@warmonger, actually, I hid this scroll in somewhere of the underground, I use the SetObjectPosition() function when I need it .I learnt this trick from the map Rakshasa Revolt

btw,how about this Wiglaf? I use the snow ape to made this

Edwin, I'm done with the script!  I've sent it to your e-mail.

Honestly, I haven't done much. It was mainly proofreading with the spelling, marks, caps, preposition, and tenses. Changed a little bit here and there with different choice of words but really not much as I'm not well acquainted with the story (and I'm neither native in English ). I wish I have more time for more research so I can fill the gap in some places (like town biography for example), but anyway script-wise, it's ready for first launch. When you're done with the programming part, update the map in the master post, hopefully there will be more testers for the newer version. Then I guess version 1.0 is ready for submission.

Some thoughts:
1. I changed the title to "Beowulf: Pride is the Curse" as I don't think it's normal to put two hyphens in a title. Alternatively you could also go with "Pride is the Curse (the Legend of Beowulf)" which I think could also fly. Of course you can always change it back to your original title, it's your map anyway.
2. You may need to use a nice picture for the main page background. Something like Walking Dead.
3. IMHO, the tips would better be removed from the main page so to make it more elegant. Put all the tips and further description of the map in a separate pdf file (like Twilight World).

Now for some technical issues:
1. About my earlier suggestion to block the path leading to Edwin prior defeating Grendel, what would be your changes? You will block it, or change the text with no mention of defeating Grendel? Cause if it's the latter, then I will change the related script.
2. Are Valley of Death and Death Forest two different locations? I haven't explored the whole map.
3. That "mage calling in badly need for help" thing, what exactly the purpose of it?
4. You have frisian_1.txt and frisian_2.txt which are similar. Do they trigger on different occasions?
5. Is it possible to change the "OK – Cancel" buttons into something more specific, for example "Help – Kill"?

OK, now I'm going to redo the whole map on Normal () and explore all the side missions, to check if all scripts fit.

PS: Oh yeah, I agree about Wiglaf! Now he's awesome, not just a single big boy to babysit!

1.well, I'll find a picture from the movie as a PWL pictures.and make a pdf for the tips.

3.right, they are two different locations, Death Valley is in the depth of the death forest.

4.It triggers another quest of the wizard's when the text pop up. Just go back to the wizard and you can get the quest

5.acutally they are not exactly the same,depending on whether you return the book to the wizard or not.If you keep the book as your's you can not enter the pyrmid when you are teleported to the desert

6.I think you cannot change the OK/Cancle button, but I can make it clearly in the text,for example:" if you want...click the OK button, otherwise click the Cancle button."

@Vlaad,please take patience, I will release it when Duncan and I finished all the details of this map

Few more things while I remember:

1. Hrunting and the Golden Horn can be exchanged in the Altar for experience!  Is it possible to prevent this, otherwise the script when it says "the sword is melting..." and "...the horn in my keeping..." are irrelevant. Of course it would be stupid to sell them early, but heck I would do it just prior visiting the Siren since they'd be gone anyway

2. Funny when I redo the map with lesser difficulty, only my troops were being reduced  40 crossbows and 40 squires instead of 80 as before, whereas the black dragon in the maze remain 90 something

Right. It's now the book isn't it. I'll change "Mage" into "Wizard" then (or Edwin) to make it clearer.

1.Actually you cant trigger the dialogs with the siren without having both the horn and sword . However I dont know how to prevent the player to sell them or exchange them for experince, dont know such a function, at least I can make it clear in the instructions of the artifacts.

2.In the heroic there are 100+ dragons,I customed their qualities so that their amount will not increas crazy¡£

I experimented restarting the mission with different levels. On Hard and Normal, all gold and resources will reset to zero, yes? But on Easy, they remain  The catch is on Easy there won't be squires and crossbows, and it's a bad trade off even for 50K gold; they're useful for fodder. I'm just making sure if this is your intention.

Come to think of it, I'll check anything related to scripts. With your permission of course. For example that OK-Cancel thing I earlier brought on, I'll amend the related script. I'm still doing last-round check to make everything sounds logical. For example the choice of words between "pay" and "reward"; if it's 50 mages then it's a reward and if it's gold it's a payment. I reckon I can finish this within a day or two, then it's all yours.

As to the pdf description, I suggest let's start with just a readme file. I'll send this to you as well. If you decide to add more things and make a pdf file, consider it a bonus.

my intention is to set the resource depend on the defficulty,however, according to what you said the formula is not that reasonble, I will find a better formula.

I am glad you can help with the script, but if you changed the script name of the custom object or added something esle please let me know, otherwise I may get confused.

Now I think we got every thing ready.

P.S there is a list of the changes in next vision, hope there is nothing I missed.
1.allow building capitol in towns.
2.allow learning town portal magic in the town.
3.add a little more resources
4.add some magic shrine
5.disenable vampirism in town,you can learn it from some quests.
6.change the snow ape to a more powerful Wiglaf.
7.add animations to the idles on the map(the minotaur in front of the maze...ect..)
8.add a PWL picture.
9.rewrite custom objects' name and description.
10.add a readme file.
11.some texts need to be fixed to make them more clear.

I'm aware of that, so no changes to the filenames  Will send them within the next 24 hrs.

Anyway, I've made better progress now with the map  Frisian is now taken. Hell, they also had the Cloak!  Morale -2 while they still had +1. Beware, Empathy could backfire. Looking forward to face the dragon.

There are indeed critical aspects playing this map, for example skills choice. You screw up here then no way you're gonna finish  I will mention those in the readme file.

One (perhaps) last issue. I wasn't able to finish the potion quest. I explored this after taking over Frisian and returned to Heorot. Then when I came back from the grave, the dragons blocked my way so I could not go to the temple. My question: all three quests (a strange woman, search the grave, and rescue the woman) are still not accomplished. At that stage I thought the first two quests should actually be over/ticked. But maybe it's made that way on purpose?

I have nothing further. I look forward to seeing the updated version of the map and be listed soon at maps4heores. Congratulations, Edwin, for making such a superb map!

LOL Edwin, that dragon hero you made, was it based on Wyngaal?  I played a new map and hired him, he then became a dragon

Guess I should warn people in the readme file re. how to handle that maps folder, like Zilo did in Twilight.

I've played halfway through the map, me likes A few things: When you enter a boat in the beginning you can pass through the sea rocks to the west where there is nothing, perhaps it should be blocked to avoid backtracking? Also noticed that the tree that gives level in the mainland is inaccessible. I was almost pissed when I saw the witch giving all dark spells when I had light Turns out that light has saved my hide in more than a few occasions, immunity protected me from titans at first, then I got resurrection and word of light that is invaluable in the cemetery fight. I barely lost there, will have to replay. Hope I'll get regeneration somewhere

Hehe, I got lucky, Dragon utopia gave me Book o' Light so I can take out pretty much everything with just the Flamelord and maybe some wolves as a meatshield (I've taken out that inferno stack guarding the demon dweeling with the Flamelord + wolves as decoy)
Now I'm figuring a way to beat the Warlock in the labirynth but my PC is down so it'll have to wait. The thing is I would beat her with the Flamelord alone if it weren't for those 400+assasins with poison

Great map btw I really enjoy playing it

I also noticed that two stacks of wolves near their dweling are inaccesable, is that intentional? (will it unlock further in the mission?)
And I have multiple Dragon Swords from the quest, the event keeps popping up everytime I visit the castle.
