I put myself in this thread hoping ppl would ask me, in specific, not someone random, a question. Well, they're rather few and far between.

Question for Svarog

When you take a woman out on a date, do you expect to have sex with her the first night? Why, why not?

Ah Conan. Thats the problem when asking TPBM questions. One of the fraction of one-liners (such as asmo, gorman and rest) attempts to answer it, and than u have to persuade them to edit, to which they reluctantly agree in the end, then add one more sentence and goodbye. And that is how a nice question gets raped by a numb answer. *grrrrr*

Quote:

No, not really. If its a girl I like (which would probably be the case, if i take her on a date), I wouldnt even expect a kiss, and much less sex. As a matter of fact, I dont think I would even want to have her on the first date. Thats not the type of girl I would like to be with for a longer time. Yesterday I met a girl, an authentic incarnation if Angelina Jolie in every aspect , went out, had a great time, danced, talked, "nothing" happened, as some would say. But in fact a lot happened, much more than it has than with some girls that I start going sexual with from the start. Getting intimate (not just sexually intimate) should come as a logical extension of two people being together for some time. I cant accept that I should be more intimate with girls the first time I see them, than with friends I've known for years. (such custum is a result of Hollywood movies terror of the young minds)

On the other hand, as a guy, sexual attraction plays a big role, and I would have no problems at all going to bed with a sexy girl with whom I share a "long" history of communication of an entire hour. But I wouldnt like having a relationship with her afterwards, since the speedy sex artificially creates intimacy which isnt there at all and on which I cant base a relationship. Its like starting a relationship with a complete stranger who you've just had sex with, a fact so insignificant, because every person on the face of Earth can fit in that definition.

Not that I've never done the mistakes that I mention (and I was aware then also), but thats maybe one reason more to be more truthful towards my own lust and desire, and make a crucial distinction between those two.

(one more thing: contrary to what it may sound like, i dont really have so much relationships experience)

Question to married guys (+pan): Have you ever cheated on your spouses and did you tell him/her about it? If nobody answers, it's considered that everybody answered negative, i.e. if u have cheated and dont answer you're a liar.
If no one answers this (or if he's kind enough to do it anyway), then bort will tell us about his plans for kids, and why the hell is that invaluable genetic material still not replicating itself, as Nostradamus predicted a long time ago.

As for me...

I haven't cheated on my wife since getting married. I made a promise on our wedding day, I have kept it, and I will continue to do so...I hope!

P.S. I am just throwing in my 2 cents...so, this is not really an answer.

Hi mom.  Although I guess my ma isn't quite so direct about the questioning.  Tends to be more in the form of constant hints from her.

Anyway, my wife and I are planning on having kids, just not right now.  My wife is a medical student right now, and I am a graduate student.  After medical school, she has to do her residency and I have to do a post-doc after I graduate.  So in terms of time and finances, it wouldn't be a great idea for us to have a kid in the near future.  The penciled in plan right now is 4 or 5 years from now.

I don't feel like asking a question.  Somebody else ask one.

I'ver never committed treason, per say...

But I have "made mistakes" on my taxes.

I've never served in the military either, so I haven't ever been in possession of "intelligence information" that I could sell to foreign interests.

I don't know if this qualifies as an answer because I live in Canada, which has a Democratic government, but I would like to ask the next question. So, if anyone still wants to answer InABox's question in the affirmative, go ahead.

+++My question is for Conan:
I heard that you "chased" a homeless guy out of a Bank's ATM Lobby and so, I am curious to know if this is true? If yes, what was going through your mind & did you learn/get anything from the experience?

This one has Jebus written all over it.

OK, I'll tell the whole truth, and from the start.

I was working and went into an Automatic Banking Machine room to have access to some cold hard cash for a mid-day coffee. Inside was a homeless man lying on the floor smoking a cigarette, with several cigarette buts that had been squished on the floor in front of his face.
[offnote]I hate cigarettes. I hate the smell, the money they make, the pollution, the fact that many smokers don't follow regulation. And we also have a non-smoking law in Ottawa, Canada that prohibits anyone from smoking in a public place [/offnote]
This guy, lying on the floor smoking in this room asks me for money. Well, I lost it. I turned around at the end of my transaction and looked at him long and hard. I could feel my pulse racing. I took a few steps toward the guy and stopped, still staring deep in his eyes, emotionless.

- You have the nerve to ask me for some money! I tell him.

Without letting him answer I burst:
- Do you know I am a student with more debt than you will ever come to own in your life? Do you know I have a daughter and I need all my money to spend on her for food, clothes, etc??!!

The homeless man beggan blubbing words I could not understand because of my anger.
- You have the nerve to ask me money to be able to buy some cigarettes!!! I yell out.
- Do you know it is illigal to smoke indoors here and to even be here??? I should take you out myself!

The man's eyes became bigger.
- In fact, I'm going to count to 3 and if you don't get out, I'll dragg you out
- 1 ...
- 2 ...

I start walking towards him. As he realizes that I will hold true to my comments, he moves his hands towards me to tell me to stop.
- I will ... He grumbles.

I escort him outside and leave.
My anger can become very big, very fast. It's a problem I try to correct. But this guy just pushed the right buttons. I had been seeing a couple of them smoking in there and it just drove me nuts, but never said anything. Maybe it was just a bad day for him.

In any case, I get back to work, without my coffee, and unable to think of nothing else but the slime I just cleaned. My collegue notices my mood and she asked me what the problem was. Then I started feeling bad. She said she understood how I felt and that she actually agreed with me. Problem is I didn't know if I agreed with myself.

What I got/learned out of it? That I need to control my anger. That I am still not sure to this day if I did the right thing. I am a very socialist person and I try to help homeless people, I even did post graduate studies in Social Work. But breaking the law and begging aint my thing. Smoking and polluting my lungs either. I personnally think it should be illigal to beg. They should just sit there and if I want to give money I will. I even already have. But to ask while puffing away? It just burns me. My blood is boiling as I type this...

Well. There it is. Since I'm not in a position to ask a usefull question, I'll let someone else to do it. Or, I'll return later to post one.

Yes, inabox, it is. I also live in Canada. But some of us Frenco-Canadians like to beleive she is only a figure. When our bills are past, they go to the Senate and then the Royal Assent. The queen is usually not present for this event so the Governer-General (the person that represents the Queen in Canada) is present every single time. After that the bills become law.

PS. Can you tell I work for the Parliament?

My next question is to [EDIT]Bort[/EDIT]:
Since you've been here for so long, I'd like you to tell us about the evolution of HC. How you pictured it back then and how you picture it now. Have you been absent for long periods of time? Why? ...etc. You get my drift?

Well when I first showed up I was looking for information on Heroes IV (which wasn't out or finished yet).  At that point it was basically a bunch of people who had some combination of the following three things:
a.  played in ToH (not me)
b.  was looking for H3 strategy (sorta me)
c.  were here to swap rumors about H4 and to babble about what they hoped it would be like (me)

Anyway, that's more or less what it was like for awhile.  There almost no political discussions back then.  There was a little sports talk and a fair amount of talk about things like music and stuff.  Role playing was more or less limited to Kuma's tavern (a home away from HOMM).

When H4 came out there was some fragmenting of HC between those who hated H4 and those who were grudgingly accepting of it (I don't remember anyone who just said "wow!  This blows all the earlier heroes games out of the water!  Best.  Game.  Ever!")  Me?  My computer was stolen with the H4 disc in it.  I replaced the computer.  I didn't replace the game.

I'd say the most notable change in HC is how little it actually has to do with Heroes now.  When I was first here, H4 altar of wishes was far and away the most active forum.  Since then the tavern became so active that Other Side, Wastelands, Bards Glade and Other games all had to be created to keep the tavern threads from falling back too fast.

I've been absent for long periods of time before.  Sometimes because of work, other times because of boredom with the site.  Eventually it tends to become fresh again and I wander back, though.

Somebody else ask a question.

I'll step up and ask the next question...

+++My question is for Woock:
Assuming a "male test-subject" was heterosexual, how would you feel about him "spying" on his hot & sexy sister while she was naked or "experimenting" with each others bodies???

P.S. I am not asking this because I am the "male test-subject", so don't get any ideas about pinning this back on me. For your information, my older sister is a pretty lady, but nothing that I would consider "hot & sexy". She wants to become a female body-builder, for God's sake!!!

This is more realtive to my experience growing up with buddies who had "hot & sexy sisters", but refused to accept the fact that they were smokin'. They kept saying: "My sister?! Ewwww...yuck!"

I don't really think I understand what you mean by "male test-subject", but I guess I just wouldn't care. It's none of my business what activities involving sisters some guy practices in his spare time.

Think of a better question next time you wanna ask me.

Someone else come up with a question, please.
