Yipes!

The truth eh?

I really don't know - you and I have talked about it. Sometimes I feel like I'm standing on the shore, watching that big boat coming to sail me away...*shrugs* There are a lot of people who make me feel like this isn't the place for me anymore - but there are enough that I still care about enough that I'd find it really hard to go...

So yeah, I don't know. I definitely don't feel the same way about it as I used to. Before coming here was about my friends, now it's all about working. So many of my friends have already sailed away on that damned boat too.. which works both ways, on one hand it's a reason for me to go , but on the other it makes staying here and keeping the home fires lit seem like a good idea too And when they do come back!! Even if it's just a quick HCM to let me know how they're doing, it makes it worth it. And of course, Valeriy is a dear friend to me, and I stay sometimes if for no other reason that to help him - I don't know that I could ever just walk out and leave him hanging - so when it does happen, it will be after a lot of talk between me and him.

I guess I can't really answer you at all - except to say that yes, I do feel different. HC has not been a place I can come to cheer up when I'm down for a long long time, and I miss that most of all. I resent the way a lot of the people are, the unkind behaviours and some of the ideas expressed in the otherside make me sick. But any time you have a large number of people together there will always be some great ones, and HC definitely has that too.

My question goes to Veco: have you ever had an online hookup with a chick? If so describe! If not, then would you? And what would you be looking for?

Online hook up with a chick?
I tried once but you can never be sure if it was a chick or not But lets suppose everything she said was true:
-we were apparently 300km apart so if you're 16yo that poses a problem
-although the nice coversation we had she seemed so insecure to the point when it's annoying (and up untill that day I encountered many such cases)
-she wanted to send me a couple of pictures of herself and before I got a chance to comment she was gone and never to be heared of again
on a side note  - she had average looks, not to mention the possible MySpace picture syndrom involved, lol

If you'd like more details I would have to go to the "I was drinking tea atm and scratched my @ss 2 times" level

If I had another chance - no, I wouldn't. Not because of that experience but because I do not need to be close with anyone outside my family. Sure I like a certain person better than the others but that's plainly platonic, I don't want her to even notice me. So 'adventures' on the interwebs are a definite no-go

My question goes to mva.. nah, I see he won't mind waiting
My question goes to DarkCrystal

Nightmares... Well, I didn't had such nightmare that I didn't sleep whole night. I had a nightmares in childhood, a long time ago. However all my dreams are so ridiculous or random that I forget them when I wake up. But sometimes I can remember the end of my dream. So as I remember the most frightening ends of my nightmares were when I see somebody trying to kill me by knife or when I'm falling down from the roof. But as I said it was long time ago. Now I don't see nightmares very often and they don't frighten me anymore. Life made my spirit strong and cold like a stone. It is not very easy to frighten me.

My question is to Mvass: What was the most scary moment in your life?
____________

Hmm... That's not really a good question to ask me. I've never really had a "scary moment". Occasionally I dread some occurrence for days, but it's usually not very pervasive - and anyway, it's not a moment. So I guess the answer would be waking up from nightmares as a little kid.

So, my question goes to Pan.

There have been many homophobic statements that really bother me, as well as extreme prejudice shown against people from different cultures - I have no tolerance for people with no tolerance

I think I was most upset and offended by the opinion of one member who believes that people with disability aren't "persons", they went on in great detail about what that meant and very strongly back up that opinion - and just to hear someone talk like that really blew me away because I can't imagine how anyone could possibly think that way...And maybe even more than sick, it made me horribly sad - and pretty angry too.

In essence the posts made here that devalue and disrespect any human life for whatever reason make me sick. The posts that indicate that people feel they have the right to judge and condemn anyone for not being the same as them, and for not believing the same things as them have always bothered me. I understand that people will have these opinions, human nature is not such that we will all get along all of the time - but how so many people have such a strong "one way only" way of thinking, and have such adamant refusal to look at the world from another point of view just really gets to me. Especially when in a lot of cases I see this from kids, I worry about the influences on them.

My question goes to Keksimaton:

Tell us about one time that something (anything) cracked you up to the point that you couldn't stop laughing - lots of detail, HC needs some cheering up

I may have already told you this one, but I honestly can't remember any other time in recent history when I would have laughed like the maniac that I am. Some of you might be disappointed. I apologise and tell you to get over it.

It was quite early this year, it was a monday. I think that I had turned 16 just the last weekend (February 1st). I was kind of feeling the usual monday blues, but I was a little bit hopeful that someone at school remembered (or knew) that I had finished yet another lap around the sun, riding on our dear home planet. Of course nobody did. I hadn't really told anyone and no one had really asked.

I walked along the same path wich I had walked on so many times over past 9-years. It was a foggy and chilly morning, the streets were a little slippery, all I heard was the wind, the sound of my steps on the pebble covered road and the sound of cars leaving the parking lots. I went up the hill and saw that old and dull building wich had tormented me for eight and a half years with it's dull and green floors, it's white & grey interior walls and unimaginative cubic form.

I entered trhough the main entrance and made my way upstairs. The building was empty and quiet, I had come early today unlike in most other days. I was very tired. Slowly yet steadily others started arriving in front of the classroom and soon enough the teacher made his way to the door wich he opened and beckoned his class to follow him inside. It was my mathematics teacher to whom I shall from now on refer to as Mr. Peter T.

Mr. Peter T. was a likeable fellow around his thirties, many of my classmates thought that he "taught too quickly" and that Mr. Peter T. wasted too much time joking and had a very short temper. I thought that he was teaching us well enough and left a bit of room to think by yourself and kept the morale up efficiently with his jokes. His temper didn't really bother me. So far I hadn't given him too many reasons to get mad at me.

I took my seat in the middle of the classroom and my classmates took their own seats, most of them sat at the back and the front was left empty. Today's lesson was about precentages and some equations involving precentages. I remember that we had gone through this stuff already, but I decided to try and keep alert and listen to what Mr. Peter T. was talking about.

The class was oddly quiet today. Propably because of the fact that it was a monday. Occasionally Mr. Peter T. had to tell someone something along the lines of: "put those earphones away, the entire class can hear what you are listening to!" or "Shouldn't you have learnt to turn off your cellphone at kindergarten already?!" Otherwise the class was not making any trouble. I occasionally stole a glance at a girl sitting a few rows to the right from me. I'd like to get to know a bit better sometime. She seems like a nice, smart and polite young lady, but that is a story for another time. Somehow I tend to imagine that she has sexual affairs with some of her teachers. I could propably use that as a plotline in a movie or a theater play, maybe a book. Perhaps as a good addition to my psychological profile if I ever get locked up into a sanitarium. But enough about her already!

As Mr. Peter T. taught us different precentage equations somebody asked him what applications could there be for them in "real life situations". For an example Mr. Peter T. brought up taxes: Inheritance taxes, gift taxes etc. Then one of my classmates asked: "Where do the taxes go to?" That brought a tiny smirk onto my face. Mr. Peter T. explained that the taxes go to the government. Mr. Peter T. barely had finished his sentence when the very same classmate of mine asked: "What the heck does the government do with all that money?"

In the blink of an eye my mouth bursted open with the air rushing up from my lungs. I started laughing an unusually high pitched, loud yet clear, non-distorted laughter, a bit different from the stereotypical maniac's laughter. It was then when I started getting funny looks and heard people saying: "He has finally lost it," "Are you okay?" and "What is so funny?" Yet I was the only one laughing.

I don't know why I laughed. Did I laugh at my slightly ignorant yet healthily curious classmate? Did I laugh at society? Or did I perhaps laugh at myself? I have no clue. It just happened.

[metaphore]All it needed was a spark to light fire on the pile of flammable material known as "Me".[/metaphore]

After a long laugh, that most of my classmates had seemingly found quite disturbing, I went the rest of the day with an euphorically manic smile frozen on my face.

My face hurt.

I hope you enjoyed the story.

Here is my question for DeadMan:

Do you like movies? If you do, please tell us what kinds of movies do you like and if you have any favourite movies, or movies that you liked a bit better than some others and why did you like those particular movies better than others. If you don't, would you care to tell us why?

I don't watch many movies these days, although I am somewhat partial to some of Michael Moore's films. He's one of the few modern film makers with a social conscience. But my favorite movie would have to be the old Battleship Potemkin, telling the story of an uprising of sailors against the oppressive Tsarist regime. One of the greatest movies of all time, IMO.

My question goes to Dagoth:
I notice you give passive support and agreement to what Mvass says. How can you support such a flagrant capitalist?
