Sir Mullich is pretty damn good, in my experience.
Even if he is a knight wearing Cape of Velocity, he still stays a knight and therefore levels up badly

I think that a lot of experienced players underestimate the power of Mulich.

Yes, he is Knight. Yes, he doesnt developed as good as Overlord or Beastmaster. But its not THAT BAD.

Remember, that cape of velocity is MAJOR artefact, and Mulich can still have the actual Cape, wich will become devastating.

Mullich is the best knight, no doubt. And his speed advantage is great especially vs the map.
But imagine him having expert fire and water in endfight

Actually, fire is not bad at all!!! If you can get berserk, this is by far more efficient than any other magic.

Still, Knights have 3 times lesser possibilitie to get fire than Barbarians.

The Knights have pretty good chance to get air magic, wich is very usefull in endfight.

The only problem is the lower possibilitie for earth, because of watter. OK, thats the only setback, and its true - i hate to get watter and avoid it almost all the time i can.

But as far as earth is concerned - its more usefull against the map, and Mulich having those +2 speed, somehow compensate against the map.

In conclussion - maybe Mulich is inferior to Crag, Tazar and some other individual heroes, but otherwise its very good choise.

Mullich with expert prayer = anyone else with expert haste +1 speed, plus a free lion shield. (unless you care about the knowledge and power which probably won't make a difference)

I'm not saying I like Mullich, but just making a point.

Let's say it's day one and you have Mullich and Damacon. There is a school of war, a school of magic and 2 learning stones. You can reach all four on day one, but only if you do them in that order. The direction you want to take your main on day 2 is past the 2nd learning stone. You can afford to pay 2000 gold, what would you do?

So the different hero classes doesn't level equally? I didn't know that. Does any one know how much it actually differs?

And yes, Mullich are great, if you like speed, but after all, I'd prefer Orrin or maybe Loynis, Caitlin if it's a high difficulty (Expert/Impossible) or very poor map. But I rarely play Castle.

Yes, the class makes a huge difference. Both the primary skills and secondary skills are different.

It's something that takes time to study and understand. But the bottom line is that most people would agree that barbarians and overlords are the two best classes.

Mullich just doesnt feel good during the game ..its like playing a hero without any backbone.

I would prefer Orrin any time ..he makes the artillery a level7 creature and makes the lousy marksmen and zealots valuable.

Valesky gives a nice headstart on 200% thought ....

Yes, I knew THAT, but I got the impression that they don't level equally. That knights nedd more xp to level/ gain less xp. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

EDIT: Yes, but then I'd prefer a money boost rather than a creature boost. Unless it's a small/fast map.

Orrin starts with leadership and archery, do you really want to give him artillery also? You've used three slots on average skills and have 5 slots left for everything else. And without the artillery skill, is his bonus really that important for the balista?

Comparing to Valeska, he's much better, but against other heroes???

No, thats wrong. Additional Shooters will provide you FAR MORE money then the lousy 350+/day will give you.

And if i mean FAR MORE i mean FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR MORE...

...i hope i made my point clear

Well i only compared him with Mullich and Valeska, cause that was the question. Of course there are better heroes than Orrin for castle (while hes definately the best for tower).

Lets say you play tower and Orrin, i would certainly give him artillery too. There are always some bows lying around and the fun begins (especially with golden bow). If the oponent cant reach you first round (which he cant if Orrin does have tactics), he will be toast for sure.

Btw. writing that archery with Orrin is an average skill is like saying offense with Hack is average skill. Orrin does provide DOUBLE damage on Lvl20 with any shooter. There is no other hero by far that can provide such a huge boost.

Ok, archery isn't an "average" skill with Orrin, but if you give him artillery, he still only has 5 slots left. And without control of the balista, I think the laws of physics demands that it shoots the stack that I just blinded.

In the early game extra archers make fights much easier with less losses. If they can break a guard to a chest, that's 1000-2000 gold. If they break a road block to let a few scouts through, that can be LOTS of gold and maybe a 2nd town. In a crypt, the extra archers and Valeska's +1 speed can make a big difference, that's 1000-5000 gold per crypt, and maybe an art. More fights = more experience and more gold. It will add up to much more than 350 per day.

...AND? He only needs Tactics (opponent cant reach you) and Earth (opponent cant reach you) anyway. Did you ever got morale with Orrin? If he gets morale its like having sex (not that i do know what sex feels like). If Orrin gets luck its like casting Implosion.

Did you ever seriously played with Orrin??

Test his skillings first week, as soon as he gets earth (which is unlikely) he should be automatically your main, if not attack or defense specialists are around.

OK OK, I'll play him right now, but when I'm forced to pick navigation or balista at level 3, you owe me a beer.

True, my mistake. I kinda forgot lvl 2 is shooter. That makes a HUGE difference at high-diff. As I said I rarely play castle. Hmm... I think I'll play some right now!

This is true offcource, but only partially.

First - if the map is so pure, there will be not much to fight anyway, so +350 gold is steady income. If its rich - you will get more reliable army pretty soon and you will be indipendant from the archers.

Second - Damacon is by no means inferior to Valesca. He may actually be supperior.

And third - who said that you are not allowed to get better hero? as we all agreed, Knights are not the best either way, so you try to switch.

So, if you play castle, i tend to agree with the choise of Caitleen.
