No, he was hardly a slacker. Just young, angsty and inexperienced.

(waves his wand) Abla thanabla*

Thread resurrected. 11 year old thread. Some serious necromancy has been used here. I came across some of Rowling's stupid tweets and it kinda reminded me that I wrote this a decade ago to make fun of her books.

This is not 2010 anymore, tho. Rowling is more of a meme nowadays, ever since she published a series of "world building" tweets to appease the SJWs (which ironically backfired because she refused to acknowledge the "T" in LBGT, making her being hated by both sides alike, lol!). The euphoria related to buying new Harry Potter books as we matured has died out, and many people actually re-read the books to notice what I've been talking about years and years ago... Notably that Rowling was never a good writer to begin with, because of:

- Asinine plots, heavily focused on plot devices;
- Inability to maintain the integrity of the story, resulting in frequent and frustrating retcons (since she admitted herself she never re-read her books, and she obviously did not keep proper notes);
- A world, economy and society that makes no sense and would collapse instantly if actually attempted;
- Zero character growth;
- Zero character depth, some characters are literally the most basic tropes that have existed (such as Ron being basically nothing but a Mr.Exposition with nearly no personality of his own);
- Embarrasing use of stereotypes to describe characters of other nations;
- Awkward syntax, grammar errors, frequent repetitions of adjectives;
- Inability to indirectly describe emotions in dialogues, heavily relying on adverbs instead;
- Extremely cringy "romances" that come from nowhere and are a pain to read through;

So there is very little need to continue the thread. Reviewing the plot of the books would be nonsense at this point as it's painfully obvious that the plot was never planned from start to finish and some things were just thrown in there as a last-minute idea to keep the story together, such as Ronald imitating parseltongue by randomly hissing at a wall or food not being transmute-able (despite Rowling herself made one of her Professors turn an inanimated object into a pig in her very first book).

I did reanimate it, however, because... because HP reminded me of my 10yo self reading the first book. I can still remember the smell because my Mom put it in a bag next to some perfumes when she bought it for me, and it actually >absorbed< the scent. The memory of it really takes me back, to simplier and happier times, which is pretty much all of the magic we can actually experience in our lives. And it was always about the magic, right?

[*] (Ablat ha nabla - literally meaning "I give life to the corpse"  Rowling played with some armaic words to create her "Avada Kedavra", so why wouldn't I? )

Didn't knew Rowling used aramaic. Didn't think she had the mental capacity to even know of it's existance.
