If you mean Diamond/Pearl/Platinum they are actually pretty good. Of course Diamond and Pearl are identical except toward the vary end. You either get to try to capture the time pokemon or the space pokemon. Platinum is identical up to a point but you get (eventually) to not only try to capture BOTH, but the following is well.
Giratina (spelling?), Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres.

I think I read that somewhere ones

Quote: didn't they suck badly?
They did not, the Pokemon for the generation did however(they was exactly creative design-wise)
Quote: I heard they changed the gameplay a little..
Which is a good thing at points, the oversized rock-paper-scizzor is still intact but alot of moves are changed along with attacks now being classified into physical and non-physical.
The broke balance at places is attempted to being fixed(ex: bug lacking damageing moves with the exception of the exclusive ones ex Bedrills Twineedle if that was the name).

I've heard you can get Giratina in Diamond/Pearl as well via Turnback Cave.

I play pokemon, I doesn't have any of the newer ones but I own leafgreen and ruby, my brothers have fire red and sapphire. and I have completed by games a few times, but, how do I make my pokemon happy? I have an Eevee level 21 that when I go to some happiness rater is very happy, and it doesn't evolve into umbreon or espeon, I have the national dex but it doesn't help, maybe I can't get them on that game. or do you know another reason.

If it's Leafgreen: there is no clock in it, so in order to get Espeon/Umbreon you have to transfer Eevee to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, boost up its Happiness there with items/level-ups/having it in your party etc..., then level it up. No idea why they did it that way.

So I'm playing Fire Red. Any hints on catching the Snorlax? Maybe info on where I can get a bloody ultra ball?

Snorlax can be a PAIN to catch. Try getting a pokemon with false swipe (won't take the pokemon below 1 hp, making it easier to catch) and then pile on any non-damaging status you can.

Okay, so I decided to pack all 6 of my pokemon that have either hypnotize or sleep powder. It later turned out that I deleted hypnotize off my Hypno. Either way, Snorlax managed to knock out half my team and I ended up using revive on my Venusaur, which then took the Snorlax down to critical range repeatedly (damn you, Rest!). Finally I tossed two great balls and the second one stuck. The fight took me approximately 15 minutes

Well, Snorlax was still a major pain to catch in Red/Blue.
He had really nice good stats, and Rest equaled a overpowered autoheal. The trick i used last time was to get my pokemons attack to bring him down to minimal HP in 2 attacks. So basicaly i fought and weakned him a tad until he rested and used those 2 attacks to get him down to minimal HP while sleeping. Since he did not wake up until the next turn i just hoped a greatball would do the trick

I forget if it was an option in that game, but Paralyze would help a lot for catching a snorlax. Also, if YOU put it to sleep it doesn't get the effect of rest.
Edit : Now it has been forever, but here is what I believe I did. I found a ghost pokemon. Got hynosis and Curse on it, and a Meowth with False Swipe. Saved the game right before I fought the snorlax, putting the ghost type in front. Snorlax is normal and really can't hurt the Ghost pokemon. Hypnotise then curse. Heal (with pokemon potion) and if the snorlax woke up, hypnotise again. Switch with Meowth and false swipe. Takes luck and patience, but eventually you get a sleeping Snorlax with 1 hp. Throw pokeball and prey. If not..restart from save and repeat.

nope, if it use rest, it first go to sleep and thewn heal, it can't cause sleep counts as a status problem, and if it already have one, it can't get another until the first one is gone.

Well, I did paralyze the Snorlax, and it overrode that status problem by putting itself to sleep with Rest.

So I went and fought the other Snorlax. And cought it as well, just for kicks. They're both male though, so I'll need a Ditto to get Munchlax.
EDIT: Oh wait, Munchlax appeared in Generation IV. Looks like that's one less to worry about.
