Has anyone got the code yet for Shiny Gengar? If you live in any of the countries mentioned, a Shiny Gengar with a Gengarite will be sent to you as a promo before the Hoenn remakes are released. I just got mine today.
Not long after this promo there's another one for Diancie. Anyone getting that one?

1. It's free.
2. Two Gengarites are a good thing to have, maybe I'll trade one for a Tyranitar with a Tyranite?
Fun fact: I've never encountered a shiny Pokemon in the wild in my entire life

How does it work with breeding? do all the offspring become shiny?

Shiny is (or was?) a result of specific individual values. Since individual values depends on both parents and have random factors to them as well, then no it doesn't (or didn't).
However it might be more likely to get a shiny offspring if one or both of the parents were already shiny depending on the nature of the inheritance of IV values from each parent.

That's not what I meant. It may be more likely to get a shiny one through breeding this way, but it's very unlikely that "they'll most likely (i.e. greater than 50%, since it's either shiny or not shiny) be shiny". Especially considering there are many more ways a pokemon can not be shiny than it can be shiny, iIRC ~6000 ways.
The most likely way of getting a shiny is by trade or cheat.

Shiny parents increase the likelylood of the offspring being shiny tremendously.
Instead of a chance of like 1-2000, its odds are 1-850.
Shinies are apparently more common in gen 6 anyway. I caught two in the wild (a mienfoo and a tyrogue) and hatched three others (eevee, squirtle and mawile). conversely, i haven't encountered one in ANY other pokémon game so far.

Well I'll probably get my Diance and S Gengar codes with my pre-ordered Pokemon Omega Ruby. That's how I've arranged it with my retailer (hope he'll keep the promise). I only hope those codes last till November 28th. With luck, they'll also send me Groudon's figurine (it's limited, and I don't know how many people pre-ordered it before me).
