My bad. Now that I think about it, I've already read about it somewhere. I simply forgot  Though there's one "surfable" Pokemon I won't catch even in post-game

Yeah, I told you this a few weeks ago, in this very same thread. If I have to tell you again.....
Edit: So yeah. It appears I can evolve my Magneton to a Magnezone in New Mauville. However, it doesn't open untill I've caught/fought Groundon and got all 8 badges. So yeah, depending on when my Magnemite (of which I have an egg waiting) evolves into a Magneton, I might trade it to Y to evolve it there and not have to wait.

I've only just recently found out that some Legendaries require additional things like a lvl. 100 Poke in the team or a Poke with maximum effort values... Grinding, here I come!

Some others, like Giratina, need having both Palkia and Dialga in the party, so prepare to do some trading.

Nah, just getting Lugia and Zekrom are my priorities... afterall, I'm a casual Pokemon player, I don't spend time for collecting every possible Pokemon or breeding eggs...

Personally I prefer to do my breeding after I've beat the Pokemon champ. I also do the odd online trade and I've once received an egg via wonder trade. I wonder if I'd be able to get each generational starter this time round. I reached the halfway mark when playing Y and having started with Mudkip means that I only need 8 more for the full set (I have all Gen 1 and Gen 6 starters, the promo Torchic from X/Y, the Mudkip I started with on Alpha Sapphire, a Cyndaquil, and a Piplup).

You should be able to. If the info on Serebii is correct, then beating the elite 4 gets you more starters. After beating them the first time, the prof will give you a Jotho Starter. After the seconde beating, though in the rematch the elite 4 are tougher, you'll get a Unova Starter. And if you beat them a third time, though I don't know if they get tougher still, you'll be given a Sinnoh Starter. You'll be able to pick one of the starters every time.
I doubt you'll be given more starters after beating them the 4th time though.

That reminds me of how awesome it was in Pokemon Stadium how beating the elite four gave you one of various one-per-playthrough pokemon to trade over to the Gameboy games. Good times...
My bro ordered Smash WiiU and Alpha Sapphire(for me) yesterday and I hope that both or at least one of them arrives on friday or I will have to spend my weekend in my ice/dark type closet again...

As I did with my bro, more or less.
Well since you are, like many of us, in the eyes of Nintendo, one of those Euro-plebs, both will be released on friday. Depending on the service of the place, you should/could be able have them delivered friday. I, myself, have pre-ordered it at The Netherlands biggest webshop, which has a fairly tight pre-order = Launchday-delivery policy, so I'll be doing a lot of playing friday and in the weekend.

Hopefully you guys will not have to wait like a month which I had to, to get my 3ds + FE+PY. 
I also had to wait like a month for Heroes 6 so hopefully it is just me. But who knows, maybe my curses will cause a delay to your order even further. In that case, your brother can blame War-blob for driving me to this...
