Nice intro. It really takes advantage of the 3D technology. I wonder why, like in X/Y they limit the 3D view on the "adventure map" though. Technology/memory limitations?
Great little "remake" touches like the reference to the original's intro. Or that the Pokedex entries have original sprites. PokeNav also adds a little twist to the game. That lvl. 5 Poochyena I've caught has an interesting moveset for a starter (meaning Pokemon you catch at the beginning of the game). Add the free shiny Beldum (my first shiny evah ) I received and this gives me an exquisite starting team...
For now I've only managed to play for a short while unfortunately...

Yeah, I haven't done much either. You can apparantly get the trade expansion for the nav at Petalburg, but I didn't get there yet. After that, I'm gonna wait till my bro is ready. Which might well be around the 3rd, we got an email.
And yeah, the Nav is awesome. it seems you can use it to find mons and if it finds mons for you, they may know egg moves. That Poochyena I caught knew Fire Fang and it also found a Seedot for me, which knew Beat Up. I named the Seedot Cousin Vinny, cause I intended it for trade (my bro and I have this habit of calling trade-trash stupid names), but that was before I realised it knew a good egg move. So, I'm keeping it now and a Shiftry called Cousin Vinny aint that bad.

While I was walking around route 103, I encountered a female Ralts. Since Gallade is one of my favourite Pokémon, I had to have a male one. Then I searched, and searched, and searched for around 20 minutes! Thankfully, I have found a male one and I am happy. Also, during Wonder Trading I got a 23 Level Gible. Among sea of useless Wurmples and Zigzagoons such a rarity is extremely precious, when also taking into account that it isn't present in Hoenn.

@War-overlord
Yeah I caught a Poochyena with Thunder Fang. Though it seems many of those "special pokes" have non-offensive moves, so it's a bit harder to level them up. I wanted to have a Shiftry, but I picked Treecko as a starter plus that Pooch so another grass/dark would be stupid...
@Pawek_13
Heh, I've caught a male Ralts on my first try. I'm still thinking about taking it with me though (that Mega Evolution is tempting)...
And yes, War's brother has AS. That was the point of his entire "convince my brother to buy a 2DS" operation ;P

I suspect that the fang move you get on your poochyena is fixed depending on what starter you have.
Torchic => Ice Fang
Treecko => Thunder Fang
Mudkip => Fire Fang

Da faq?
I thought Hoopa was avaible in ORAS from the start.
It seems it's only obtainable with hacks for now.
Gotta love GF sluggishness. Hoopa was already known with hacking around a year ago with X/Y, while it still remains to be seen when he actually debuts...
Going back to my playthrough, I though there would be more options in terms of Pokemon types. I've got a feeling we're getting so many Normals or Grass types while some other types are completely absent. It wouldn't bother me, but because of Treecko so many Poke's are not fit for my team... I wonder if it will change after Rustaboro (I've recently acquired the first badge)? Wouldn't it be nice to start off a Pokemon game with Ghost, Dragon or Ice types for once? I know ORAS is a remake, but I'm referring to the series as a whole...

It might. In AS you can catch a Dark/Ghost pretty soon, Sableye. As a mattar of fact, things'll get more interesting after the granite cave.

Hey War-blob, you can relax and you are safe now. I got the goods in the end on friday as I prayed for although quite late so I had lost hope. So if either of you experience an increase in bad luck, you have only yourselves to blame for worshipping the wrong gods and not my curses...
Currently I use:
Beldum, Celebi, Azumarill, Vivillion(ball pattern), Quilava, Pikachu(cosplay), makuhita(Makit), Farfetch'd(Quacklin'), Braixen, Grovyle and Cottonee(Son of Lexxan's).
So far I am a little disappointed with how the spawns are almost entirely the same as in the original but the ability to find pokemon with hidden abilities and egg moves in the wild outweights that. Also, is bulbapedia really freakin' slow for you guys as well or just me? Serebrii works fine but is not as easy to use.

Yeah, totally. Some traditions are just buzzkillers. I would LOVE to start with a Ratatta just for a little variation for once.

Judging by your line-up, getting a Rattata wouldn't be a problem I, on the other hand, don't use PokeBank nor trading (till post-game that is), so I use what the game offers me (always have been)...

I'm a casual and I'm proud of it! With so many games out there it's hard for me to understand how some people have the motivation (and time) to pour so many hours in games like Pokemon, grinding some abstract stats and moves to "make" that perfect little pixelated Tamagochi
I'm joking of course, I've "wasted" a lot of time on grinding mons', but never have I sank into breeding and competitive play. I'm afraid I don't have the time (and willpower) to do so...
I dig Pokemon games because they're as raw TB games as one can possibly get (its deepness is another matter of course), plus they evoke that little child inside of me, which is embarrassing, but pleasant

Creator of (in my opinion) the best Polish gaming Youtube channel, arhn.eu, once stated that you become a mature gamer only when you have guts to admit that you like "games for children" like Mario and Pokémon. There is truly nothing embarassing in it.
