The New Justice League (OOC)
The year 2009,
The Secret Society of Super Villains has been lying in ruin for ten years and its members have long since scattered. The Justice League has been triumphant, but its founding members have grown old and weary. Batman has retired and doesn't work on the field anymore. Superman's powers have started to wither along with his youthfulness even though he is solar powered, but he is still active and hasn't lost his spirit. The Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is dead and his power ring is safely hidden untill Hal Jordan recieves a worthy succesor to wield the ring. Aquaman died a most tragic death in the hands of the late Joker. Flash is dead. Wonder Woman has withdrawn from the public and returned to Themyscira. Martian Manhunter was mysteriously warped out of our plane of existance.
Signs and rumors of super villains having started to re-organise have recently surfaced and it is up to a new generation of heroes to take over the Justice League and get to the bottom of this looming new treath of organised super crime.
This is to be a dungeon master directed moderately freeform RPG loosely based upon the DC universe (owned by DC comics), where you play either as a super hero who works more or less with the Justice League to unfold this big mysterious rising treath of organised supercrime or as a super villain working alongside with the dungeon master, weawing sinister plots against the Justice League and basically drive the story forward (You can't fight crime if there is none.)
As a few basic rules:
1. Don't godmode.
2. Demigodmode is also discouraged. (Main reason why I felt the need to kill off Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), warp Martian Manhunter out of existence and make Superman grow weaker when aging.)
3. Be sure to follow the general etiquette of roleplaying.
Character creation:
I encourage playing a super hero, but if you do wish to play a supervillain be sure to stay in contact with me (the dungeon master) when planning your sinister plots to keep the plot going. If your super villain character is a bit more or less just a superpowered thug, you don't need to be in contact with the dungeon master (me) much more than normal.
Super heroes start off in the first meeting of the New Justice League and super villains start however the heck they want to.
Civilian name: (optional for super villains)
Description: (the description of your character's appearance when he or she is not wearing his or her costume, again this is optional in some cases)
Background: (the background story of your character, optional in special cases)
Super Hero/Villain Alias:
Description: (this is the description for the super persona's appearance)
Powers: (In here you will need to be responsible. Big piles of cash and gadgets also count as powers. An allpurpose deus ex machina utility belt counts as godmode. Also list here any special weaknesses)
Origin: (Where do these powers come from? What inspired this character to build a bunch of gadgets and start hopping around town in spandex?)
Anyone who might want some more information or might be interested to join?

I think I will join this one. But don't expect me to post very much.
Question: can I be "antihero"? I mean that sometimes I can be single villain, who doesn't depen from dungoen master, and sometimes I can help heroes.

im more of a marvel person, but this is still my kind of stuff...
I just hope there will be NO Mortal Combat people here (unlike the game)
Classification: Renegade Villain (is isolated from everybody)
Civilian name: Carmine South
Description: 6 foot 2, bright green eyes, very dark red hair, very good posture, unnaturally long arms, very athletic, and somewhat acrobatic.
Age: 28
Background: Lived in the Gotham ghetto for 15 years until he was inducted into a drug lord's crime circle as a successful assassin by killing politicians, other drug lords, and the like. 5 years later he killed his employer and stole 30 million dollars from him. However, with his latest actions, he has been hunted by various other crime lords, etc. Since then, Carmine and his cliché mad scientist friend, Arnold Fernol, has been hiding in a hideout under Gotham. Arnold developed various weapons for Carmine until he was killed in a train accident. Losing his one and only friend, Carmine attempted suicide, only to find that he was warped into another dimension somehow. Carmine then gained powers from a powerful being that wished to give Carmine another chance. When Carmine came out, he found that he could teleport throughout Earth and his new extradimensional home along with a motley of new powers.
Super Hero/Villain Alias: the
Description: usually with a long black trench coat, a silver katana, and dual desert eagles
Powers: regular and extradimensional teleportation, electromagnetic spectrum sights (can switch or see all), red lightning augmentation (can power up a weapon or object with lightning that is red), and can dodge bullets (not really, but he can teleport himself quickly enough to avoid them), and is vulnerable to extreme magnetism.
Origin: got teleported to another dimension where he gained his powers from a strange and powerful being who was never seen again.

The Dark (Anti-hero)
(Also called 'Reaper' in crime circules)
Civilian name: Alex Grayson
Description: Alex is about 1,8 meter tall young man with dark brown hair. He hasn't very unusaul appearance.
Age: 21
Background: alex was born in England. But when he was 16 his parents were killed by terrorists. After that he moved to Metropolis with his grandfather. When he was 18 his grandfather died. Before death he gave Alex a strange family madallion and said: "Keep this medallion Alex, take it when you get in difficult situation... I'm sure, you will cope..." So Alex was left alone in Metropolis with the flat, some money and family medallion.
Super Hero/Villain Alias:
Description: 2,5 meter tall man with black skin, red glowing eyes and bat wings on back. He has a strange, medieval looking dress in unknown style.
Weapons: Scythe-looking weapon and sickle-looking throwing blades.
Powers: Unusaul power, agility and such things which are peculiar for superheroes/villains. Ability to fly (due to wings), ability to see in the darkness, ability to turn invisible in the shadows.
Weaknesses: Dark becomes much more weak and vulnerable on light. (This doesn't affect human from)
Origin: After one of Alex's best friends was killed by terrorists he took the grandfather's medallion and... nothing happened. But after a while he understood that now he can transfrom into dark humanoid creature. It turned out that this powers were a kind of 'family curse' which was shared from father to son from medieval times. Alex's grandfather was the first who managed to take control on this curse. And he saw that Alex would manage too. However he doesn't use his curse (or gift?) only for good objectives...
Alex sees his life in the war against terrorists. He often get in their lairs and annihilate them in very violent ways. Heroes doesn't like for that. They think that hero shouldn't kill. But Alex doesn't see himself as a hero. So he sometimes can take part in the crime.

My char(yet another super villain)
Name: Stalker (Master of Puppets, as referred by the crime lords)
Civ. name: Alexander C. Cross (Alex, Raven)
Description: 1.95m tall, long black hair, blue eyes. Has a scar on his right cheek and a tatoo of a chinese dragon on his left arm. Clothing- typical metalist wardrobe: studded leather jacket, black jeans, combat boots, black sleeveless t-shirt.
Age: 29
Background: Alexander was an outcast amongst the community. At the age of 12 he moved to Metropolis from the conflict torn regions of Eastern Europe. His conflictous nature caused a lot of trouble with the local gangs and police. At the age of 20 his family relinquished him. Few years later he was jailed for murder. Now Alexander forges his own destiny.
Super Villain Alias:
Description: apearance is very similiar to B. Lee's character from the movie "The Crow"(if somebody would find a pic, i would be gratefull)
Weapons: H&K MP-7, two bayonettes
Powers: Superhuman strenght and agility, mindcontrol, telepathy, telekinesis.
Weaknesess: Intense use of pshychic abilities cause heavy headaches. Can mindcontrol only two people at a time. Stuborness and a vile temper is a weakness as well.
Origin of powers: Alexander got a immense disease at the age of 16 and required a surgery. Before that he was treated with experimental medicine. The sideefect increased his strenght and agility. During the operation, the surgeons accidentely triggered a part of his brain thus allowing him to use the hidden psychic powers. After a while he learned to harness and control his gift, growing it's full potential at the age of 21. After one of his enrages he was jailed for murdering two big shot street gang members, but was released for exceptional behaviour.
My char isn't a criminal mastermind. He's more of a angel of death type. Though his hands doesn't shake when it comes to robbing.

I was a little afraid that super villainy would be much more popular than super heroics.
Yes, perhaps we could have some NPC heroes; other than retired Batman and weakened Superman. I'll get to it. I will soon try to update the thread with some info on the cities as well.

Description: A lab coat wearing scientist type.
Age:34
Background: no real info before his contract with the military, presumed to be born into a poor family living in the outskirt areas of Metropolis.He was a no name scientist working in nuclear energy until the military contracted him to work with more "special" research fields.
Mr. Woodrow was working on a secret military project about a material called "alienium".It was found on remote asteroid that crashed to earth.Woodrow was the one of three scientists to see the potential power of this material.It was like most of earth's materials combined, and when fused with high energy cell's, it could do many unnatural things.
Only they didn't know that the material was "living", it altered the mind's of the scientist's, the other two died, while it completely took over Woodrow.He eventually stole the remaining material and made a hand device.
Super Hero/Villain Alias: All-Hand
Description: A leather trench coat with hood.
Powers: The hand device is main source of power for All-Hand, Although he has some other tricks in his pocket.The device can be modified, but it comes with a standard equipment of:
Personal shield, withstands most projectile weaponry, although most superpowers can pass it.With slight modification PSG can be changed to a cloack field.
Force wave blast:A blast ball of energy, has it's uses.Main weakness is recharge time and control required for the blast.
Electricity strike:A short ranged electric outburst.
Anti gravity esigned to levitate the user to some height's.Can be altered to effect light object's.
Also, due to the mind altering, All-Hand is near immune to mind control.
Origin: The person that was behind All-Hand is no more, the mind altering effects have totally taken over his body, the quest of the material is not 100% known, it is belived it seeks to leave Earth.It is not known where did the asteriod carrying "alienium" came from.
