World of Deisan (OOC)
In this rpg, people have to choose the sides of one of the four factions:
Hradra
Larieth
Paroth
Ereth
The main objective is to have the player's side "win". It can be through conquest, politics, or other things. You just have to win. This world is a fantasy world with dragons and unicorns and whatnot. However, humans are the only sentient race. That means no dwarves, elves, orcs, etc. Humans can use magic and all, but it is limited and not all like "I flick my wrist and your entire city will be obliterated!". Instead it is more like telekinesis and mind reading (no mind control) and limited fire spells and all that. Subhuman races like undead, vamps, and werewolves are allowed, but everyone has to start off as a human. There is no main battle system except that I act as GM (game master) and I fairly can judge who wins a battle and all that, except when I fight of course, but my character won't be overpowerful. Speaking of which, no overpowerful characters, guys! If you do, then you are no longer in the game, unless something happens in it that makes you more powerful but with heavy consequences (such as the subraces' weaknesses).
Anyways, descriptions of each nation:
Hradra:
Hradra is an imperialist empire that acts with an Emperor and a Senate, much like the Roman Empire before it started to split apart
(damn you, Constantine!!!). It's military is the best in the entire world, but only through its discipline and order. An individual soldier is not much of a threat, but an army is much stronger. However, despite its size, Hradra's elite army is dwarfed by all of the other nation's regular army. To make for it, Hradra has 2 solutions. The first is to have a militia army to rise up at the first sign of war, but that leaves Hradra more vulnerable to a surprise attack. The second solution is a powerful group of assassins known as Imperial Reavers. Unlike the main army, Reavers are more powerful individually, as are most assassins. Despite being assassins, the Reavers are as equally dangerous in open warfare, but throughout all of Hradra's military power, there true weakness lies in their lack of magical usage, therefore making them vulnerable to magic-users.
Larieth:
Larieth is a full Monarchy. It is solely run by the king and his regional governors (lords, barons, dukes, etc.). It's primary strength lies within its economic stability, allowing for the hire of many mercenaries into its army. This economic power comes from the great placement of Larieth. Surrounded by other countries, tariffs upon foreign goods run high, giving the country more money. Perhaps not as rich as Hradra, Larieth still holds the seat of the economic powerhouse. Without rule of a bureaucratic society such as a council or senate, the economy can function without intervention from governing bodies, allowing a free market system to rule. However, should the King die, chaos would ensue from the many various lords of Lareith.
Paroth:
The nation of Paroth is one led by magic. The most powerful wizard (known as the Archmage) of Paroth is chosen to rule for ten years until another comes to take his or her's place. As much as may have seemed as a good idea, dark magic users tend to become Archmages due to their forbidden power. However, once that person becomes an Archmage, they rule above the law, meaning that they can do whatever they want without resistance, and those that do resist are destroyed. Of course, this has led to many civil wars, always resulting in trading in land for aid from Hradra. That led to the diminishment of Paroth. Now, the Archmage is overseen by a council of other mages. However, this has led to a socialist society ruled by the council. Still, there is a resistance to the main governing body, brewing up yet another civil war...
Ereth:
Ereth is the desert kingdom on the south side of Deisan. It is ruled by a council like in Paroth, but a more responsible council with no actual leader or symbol leader. Ereth focuses its resources on scientific discovery. This grants them the most powerful warriors. However, the cost paid for these soldiers is greater than that of any other nation, but is worth the ridiculous amount of gold. Seeing as Ereth is a desert kingdom, many of the resources they require are out of reach. Therefore Ereth must pay more money to gain materials needed to advance their discoveries. Out of all of the kingdoms, Ereth is probably the most peaceful, but is eyed jealously by all others.
Pick your nation, state who you are with a brief background to begin.
